No. All the idiots buy books like it’s crack. I’ve never understood how anyone finds it a good idea to pay 50$ for a book you can access for free online that’s valid for a couple months
I do like the Eightbound, but I'd expect more mutations. The lore says they don't resemble space marines anymore, but they look just like Space Marines in armless armor. I love the Vashtorr model and even his silly Pikachu face. I hope they either make a Dark Mechanicum faction or put him in an army I can use.
I think at the moment, he's meant for ant Chaos army but given that his goal (lore wise) is to become a chaos god, I could see them going that route and bringing in the rest of the Dark Mechanicum as his personal faction.
He's likely going to be the "ALL THE DAEMON ENGINES AND PRINCES!" equivalent to Be'lakor, given that both have their own dedicated cults, are extremely powerful daemons, have extremely high ambitions and are direct rivals.
I always assumed that to fit, terminators in a land raider sat in each other’s laps in a single file line, like a human centipede. What happens in the land raider stays in the land raider, after all
If you have access to a 3d printer I recommend getting some clear resin. I suck at modeling so I won't embarrass myself by showing my work but, in blender I made 1.5 cm high walls that I modeled ripple distortions into and colored with a very light layer of ink (I wanted the distortion of the gravity to show up as faintly green) and a white dry brush. I then glued that to the bottom of my Impulsor's grav plates. I had to rework it a few times as my first design had the distortion base go all the way around tanks but I opted for a U shape with a flat top for the Impulsor to properly rest on (Looks like a square retainer) due to a lack of rear grav plates. You can't really see it on table top unless you pretty much got your face down in the mix but in hand it translates really well. (I don't bother with the base plate)
You can used possessed in the death guard army. Their rules aren't quite as good, and are based on the older possessed models, but the base size was the same so it's fine. 🙂
@@Lomhow it's not really an error, but since death guard codex came out before csm, they couldn't re-make the death guard codes for one model, as that would make the fans who bought the book angry.
Everything points towards Shatterpoint being Crisis Protocol with Star Wars slapped on instead of Marvel. They also describe it as "an homage to to Saturday Morning Cartoons", which to me isn't what Star Wars is. It matches IPs like Marvel, DC or Transformers but Star Wars never really felt like a "monster of the week" show.
I don’t know what time it aired but there was a clone wars cartoon. In any case, we all know it’s going to be MCP in Star Wars skin because that is literally the only game AMG knows how to make. They killed armada because they couldn’t make it into MCP, and they butchered xwing into MCP in space (list building is literally mcp model, and now there’s really dumb mission parameters and rule changes to make the game shoehorned into mcp like behavior that doesn’t feel like a dogfight anymore). I will never ever buy an AMG product again and if I see those devs at another company that company is on my list too. Maybe I’m a bit of a Votann with my judgment list but I don’t care.
Jay!! If you were a Space Marines, would you let a non augmented human be in charge of getting your battle brothers to the front lines?? No, they don't have the reflexes. Nor the tactical acumen, not to mention a single piece of shrapnel that a astartes can laugh off would ne devastating to a mortal. Plus with chaos, primaris marines go mad themselves from some of the sites of 40k universe. I wouldn't trust anyone other than a fellow battle brother to drive my tank.
I have to disagree on the possessed bois. It amazes me how these are basically the purest looking space marine models out there, but they're meant to be possessed by 8 daemons. They are just bigger berserkers
This is a theory, but as they have so many daemons fighting inside them, they don't have enough time to properly mutate the dudes. So therefore they have the rage of eight daemons, and still look un-chaos. Or the design and lore teams weren't working together
The whole point is that they were locked in a cell with them, fighting for supremacy in their body, theyre still fighting so they havent been taken over, meanwhile the exalted ones have fought and won, becoming symbiotic and thats why theyre more mutated, im sure the ones that fail become posessed
I think every transport for Space Marines should have the same rules as the Thunderhawk transporter. I’ve discussed this with my friend group for casual fun games and they allow me to, but that’s just me. And the big tank you’re referring to that can take 10 Primaris, the Repulsor, that can take Gravis Armor, they’re like Terminators and take up 2 spots per model. The Repulsor Executioner has only 6 spots in exchange for more firepower.
I dig the underpants warbands. I love how GW is putting out skirmish stuff that have every character looking as good as a blister pack mini. So much fun indeed!
I think of the primaris hover things like the AAT from Star Wars. Hovering a little over the surface. In that aspect I like them. I haven’t used it in a while, but before the Templar new codex ruined it there was a fun shenanigan with the impulsor. You could drive it up, unload your bladeguard, and devour push strat them into melee, making their threat range way bigger. It served well as the melee delivery service until you couldn’t do that anymore (strat changed in new dex to explicitly say you couldn’t do it to enter engagement range)
Last night I was actually searching "eons of battle tanks" to see what tank videos you had and you opinions of them. You only had a few, but then after I wake up to find that you put this out! It's like you read my mind lol. Thanks for another great video.
Transports are weird but the Repulsor can actually hold 10 regular Primaris guys or 5 Gravis Armored guys (or a mix). No idea why they don't allowe 3 Gravis inside of Impulsor, would be cool to get Flamestorm Agressors into position or have Eradiators on the board with some extra wounds and mobility.
The silliest thing about the Impulsor in my opinion is that it does not have an "open topped" kind of rule that allows the passengers to fire while embarked.
My prediction is X-wing gets dropped in the next year to two years while they focus on Shatterpoint. Legion is safer but I don’t think it’s extremely safe. Shatterpoint is literally Star Wars Crisis Protocol because AMG only knows how to make one game (MCP) and they were handed the other games to manage. They killed one game and are driving a second into the ground.
I kinda like the Primaris tanks. Oddly I think they don't photograph well - they look better in real life than the photos make them look, and there's some lovely paint jobs that leans into the "Tacticool" modern military look. This one has an interesting Space Humvee feel which makes sense for a Razorback equivalent. I miss Drop Pods too, they're so iconic!
Actually Repulsor and Repulsor Executioner can transport gravis marines but they cost 2 seats each, so in a Repulsor you can fit 5 gravis and in a Repulsor executioner you can only fit 3 gravis
The only problem with those is the repulsor/executioner really doesn’t want to be driving up the field to drop troops off. It wants to be near the back of your army popping stuff off safe so it doesn’t get tagged in melee
Have you every thought about painting some gundam for something a bit different to usual? Sort of like how you have painted much larger scale minis or busts in the past
Gundam are great. But once you buy a few you realize the "true cost of plastic" and you'll never be able to look at GW products without thinking how overpriced it is. I mean we are talking about 11 inch fully posable, color correct, inner-frame models for $25, compared to GW 2 inch high, monopose, non colored figures for $38
Looking at the models, full fledge fly feels dumb. I do think they should be good to ignore some terrain though. Like short barricades/pipes, no difficult terrain penalty etc. or if your board has something flat but impassable like rivers, lava etc it should float over it fine.
As You say, with only 5-6 activations per unit at most in a game, getting into and out of a bus is a hard sale. Open-topped transports are nice as mobile weapon platforms with extra wounds and toughness, though. You can play Space Elves games without units to ever touch the ground.
Primaris vehicles do what you were saying Jay. Gravis Marines do count as 2 regular Primaris marines for troop transports. So you could put a squad of aggressors in your impulsor, or 5 heavy intercessors in a Repulsor. I agree though that Primaris marines and Tactical marines not being able to swap transports (like they do in the books) is big dumb :(
The cultist already have the model for special weapons, you had to buy the ones from black stone fortress, since they still sell them I think they will stay a lot
I don't know if you are being genuine when you talk about pilots being marines being dumb. But if you are, I think the reasoning is Space Marines wouldn't trust some guy to be their pilot. Super natural reflexes and willpower are also useful if you are piloting a ship, a ship that if the pilot fucks up many many space marines die.
What they charge for the books you would think they would include a unique model. Something that only comes with the book. Like when MTG had the unique cards that came with a book. Squeezing out some plastic is only little harder then printing a card. Something that the collectors want to fill a need.
i enjoy the concept of transports! but the issue right now? I CAN'T PUT PRIMARIS INTO MY GODS DAMNED DROP POD OR LANDRAIDER which is stupid on so many levels cuz i do not want to put any money down on picking up any primaris transports
Yeah the scale change for shatterpoint does not bode well for Legion, would love to see some of your Legion stuff in a video as im just getting in to it!
Jay, Asmodee own Atomic Mass Games who also make Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Star Wars Shatterpoint is going to follow the same game mechanics, same scale
Imagine if you could take a 3 man squad of Eradicators or Aggresors in the Impulsor. Decent way to keep them somewhat safer and make up for their slower movement. That or we get a bigger capacity transport that can fit more.
Yeah I had the Space Marine Combat Patrol still in it's box ready to make, and I won't like once I realised Imperium Magazine was releasing everything except the tank from that box over 3 issues for like £27 I just sold the Combat Patrol because the tank sucked anyway. I do have a Repulsor and again not much use for it but it does look super cool. I really, REALLY want an Astraeus but defo can't afford one.
I really wish ALL primaris could be ran by CSM. It would've made their Codex drop crazy cool. Maybe an Army of Reknown would be better suited? Idk I'd like to see some new traitors
i don't like the hover stuff(especially tanks) for space marines. That was always more of a Xenos thing to show how far more advanced they were and i think giving to to Imperium armies kind of takes away from that. They need the extra manoeuvrebility because they're in general more fragile it stops them from getting shot as easily
The tanks in 40k are all scaled down by 1:3 and sometimes 1:4 compared to the scale of a first-born Space Marine, so they don't take away all the space on the board.
you actually CAN put gravis in repulsors and they DO count as 2 models. same for the executioner. The impulsor is the only hover transport that cannot in space marines
Shatterpoint is the Star Wars version of Marvel crisis protocol it seems, so maybe this is the game they want to make, Legion is the game they “have to” make… not quite RIP but….
The jackals look like they could be a good kitbash for digga boys when they come out. Just slap some green and gork and mork symbols and you got digga boys
I think they use space marines to drive the vehicle’s etc is because they know no fear and will always do the right choice for the chapter when called apon ! Many normal humans would turn the rhino around instead of driving into the heart of destruction !
Rhino pilot needs power armor to survive the situations it’ll get in. If the driver is offline easiest it places the entire squad in jeopardy. You need a marine at the helm.
19:15 yeah reivers are used to convert Phobos units you actually want and to sell off the helmets to Edgelord players who are tired of bat winged helmets. Way to make them not suck, is allow them to advance and charge with their jump kit or whatever it is and have them count as having power knives from 30k which I think are -1 strength but on the charge have really good ap? Idk. Should have also had revolver bolt pistols since they’re “different” (honestly all Primaris bolt pistols should have the reiver bolt pistol profile) Or make it so they can have easier charges with their grappling hooks, either dragging an enemy or pulling themselves to them, or have a closer infiltrate/deepstrike distance. Holy shit I just put more thought into Primaris reivers in a UA-cam comment than professional designers ever have. They should also have the throwing knives and have been the incursors instead of having a side grade bolter. They have one of the coolest bolter designs they’ve ever made (mp5k bolter)
I've probably said this in one of your previous videos before but with your ideas about Space Marines riding vehicles, you'd hate my custom Space Marine chapter. Being vehicle nuts and having the culture of equating martial prowess to skill in operating vehicles. The vehicles in my army takes up more points than the infantry despite not being an Imperial Guard armored company.
If there was just one “Arks of Omen” book that included a bunch of rules and scenarios and Crusade stuff to play the Boarding Action matches, that would be fine. But having four split up over like 8 months or so is just too much.
They will either be a huge launch in the middle of 10th or will be at the end of 10th, which would be 2025. As world eaters are next year, they won't have emperor's children the same year. Late 2024 or early 2025 I reckon, though possible they may bring new noise marines to kill team before then, though I think unlikely.
@D827 Kelly well world eaters are next month. So not that far. 10 is rumored to be announced at warhammer fest at the end of April. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't show off the models then, even if they launch early 2023 kinda like they did woth angron.
As probably mentioned check out a a bat rep for marvel crisis protocol from atomic mass. The shatterpoint game looks like it’s going to following the same rule set
I very much agree with you about the space marine vehicles being piloted or driven by space marines, that seems rather silly, don't they have acolytes to perform such duties? There are still regular humans in any given space marine chapter performing all kinds of duties from administration to maintenance, it's not all big guys in power armor.
I think the super humans meant for extreme combat situations don’t want to drag mere humans into situations that will kill them while they try to ineffectively babysit the cooks and janitors they shoved into the seat of an Impulsor.
Only regular marines in rino maks sense for space inside. No regular marines in primars transport I don't get dut again with heavier armour you don't fit. Remember the rino was put out in the 80's and based on the m113
wolves usually aren't small. a husky is usually 4 foot long and maybe 2 feet tall. a grey wolf is like 6 foot long and 3 feet tall. a dire wolf is like 7+ foot long and 3 feet tall. an adult horse 8 foot long and 5 foot tall a lion 6 foot long and 3 feet tall that's 150lbs of nothing but agility, muscle, sharp teeth, and anger. yeah no thanks.
gotta dis agree with jay on his eight fold take, i want super fucked up demonised possessed, what we got is more berzerker models and nothing more, show those to me and tell me that theyre zerkers? id easily believe that anyday of the week
Primaris tanks have too many non-iconic guns. Leman russes are much cooler, ONE big gun ! (they can have more, but you can always tell which one is the main one)
Considering that battle sisters can canonically drive rhino and rhino-derived tanks, yes, it is stupid. Obviously you don’t need augmented legs to reach the pedals if a regular-ass woman with enough conviction can drive it just fine.
I gotta be honest, I kinda hate it when I see some Khrone model with an amazing paint job that someone has spent hours and hours painting, and then they just slather on those blood effects and bury everything.
If 7th, 8th, and 9th are anything to go by, Emperor's Children are going to get their own codex in 10th. Which also means snake Fulgrim
Just kitbash Morathi and you have Snake Fulgrim
It's more or less a given, if I recall, GW even hinted at such when they revealed World Eaters were on the way.
I don’t know a lot about emperors children so what is snake fulgrim? I’m suspecting it’s fulgrims deamon primarch form?
@@nazeem2835 that is correct.

Jay, Asmodee own Atomic Mass Games who also make Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Star Wars Shatterpoint is going to follow the same game mechanics, same scale

No one remembers tzangors. Wolf are not small, they are not dogs.
GW remembers tzangors, which is why most of our box sets are 50% or more tzangor. The new Christmas one is an anomaly
Gobos riding wolves look might be getting ready for the Old World
Imagine if you could take a 3 man squad of Eradicators or Aggresors in the Impulsor.

Cawl being shaped like a snail is not something I thought I needed to hear

The tanks in 40k are all scaled down by 1:3 and sometimes 1:4 compared to the scale of a first-born Space Marine, so they don't take away all the space on the board.

you actually CAN put gravis in repulsors and they DO count as 2 models. same for the executioner. The impulsor is the only hover transport that cannot in space marines

15:55 hmm, more like a razorback, only holds 5 guys, no gravis because that would be helpful and pair well with its rules.

Idk. Should have also had revolver bolt pistols since they’re “different” (honestly all Primaris bolt pistols should have the reiver bolt pistol profile)
Or make it so they can have easier charges with their grappling hooks, either dragging an enemy or pulling themselves to them, or have a closer infiltrate/deepstrike distance.

I'm excited for the World Eaters' release. I imagine the Emperor's Children will get their own launch in 2024 to round out the chaos gods.
I believe Shatterpoint are 40mm scale, just like Marvel Crisis Protocol.

So excited for shatter point 🎉
wolves usually aren't small.
a husky is usually 4 foot long and maybe 2 feet tall.
a grey wolf is like 6 foot long and 3 feet tall.
a dire wolf is like 7+ foot long and 3 feet tall.
an adult horse 8 foot long and 5 foot tall
a lion 6 foot long and 3 feet tall
that's 150lbs of nothing but agility, muscle, sharp teeth, and anger.
yeah no thanks.
Can't wait for my beautiful model to blow up with their plasma pistol 😍

gotta dis agree with jay on his eight fold take, i want super fucked up demonised possessed, what we got is more berzerker models and nothing more, show those to me and tell me that theyre zerkers? id easily believe that anyday of the week
Primaris tanks have too many non-iconic guns. Leman russes are much cooler, ONE big gun ! (they can have more, but you can always tell which one is the main one)
Can they run a volcano canon?
@@off6848 no, but one of the superheavies can
Considering that battle sisters can canonically drive rhino and rhino-derived tanks, yes, it is stupid. Obviously you don’t need augmented legs to reach the pedals if a regular-ass woman with enough conviction can drive it just fine.
