Hi, JR!! Up here in Ontario we have some unpredictable weather, too! So I fully enjoy both my Jackery units, a 500 and a 1500 Explorer. Considering getting another unit, but I also have panels feeding a couple of SLA 12v batteries so it's not essential, yet. Concentrating on getting the garden started right now! Happy Spring to you and yours!

Hi, JR. One thing I rarely, if ever, see recommended is that we have chem-lights. I have them around the house in the areas I am most commonly in so that if I need instant emergency light, I have it without having to go anywhere.

Why doesn't anyone ever talk about air conditioners in these reviews?
That and fans are about all I care about.
I do have an 8000 btu portable ac
As well as a house unit. I live in a mobile home in south ga. My shade tree fell in our last storm.
    Love your content, thank you.

Same, one of the main reasons I got the 2000 Plus was so that I can run an air conditioner, I live in Arizona so in a grid down situation heat exposure is predicted to kill some decent amount of people with the majority of those victims being old people. I've already tested the unit on a window a/c unit and the run time was almost exactly 4 hours and it was pulling around 360 watts the whole time. My current dilemma is finding a portable unit that uses around 200-250 watts max, obviously not gonna cool an entire room down at those low levels but it will definitely take the edge off if you're near by it, the research is still ongoing unfortunately

I've been strongly considering purchasing this model, but after watching this video & how you did such a great job in breaking it down.... I'm convinced this is the one.
Thank you much for putting this video together✊🏽

Great video. I'm thinking of going for this with the expansion battery. The only problem I have is the huge cable connecting the two together. Why could they make the same cable but with 90 degree plugs so it fits flatter along the back of the unit? It would look neater, and take up less space. Anyways keep up the great work.

Hi JR...I have solar panels on my roof. I have enough that I do not use any of the city's electricity. If the power goes out, will I need a solar powered generator? Would there be anything that I would need to do to keep my appliances up and running using my current solar panels?
Should I get some batteries to store my electricity? What kind? How to connect?
I have not seen this subject addressed on any UA-cam sites. I am new to your channel, and I find it very helpful! THANKS

Can it power up home a/c? I don't expect it could run the a/c long, but maybe just to take the edge off the humid summer heat in NJ?

A window air is usually around 1000w to run

I noticed you were saying it could operate all sorts of things but for how long is the question? like a standard refrigerator will run for how long on a full charge?

    • @diypreppertv
      @diypreppertv  3 місяці тому +1

The 2 fridges and a large upright freezer that I showed in the video for 10-12 hours with the extra battery. If you only run one fridge, depending on how efficient it is, probably 18-24 hours.

I’m considering jumping in with both feet and buying the 24,000 system combo 2 units and 10 batteries but I will probably talk myself out of it. They are having a 40% off sale and there is a 30% tax credit… so instead of $25k+ it I’ll cost closer to $11k…. Live in California and our solar is supposed to be tied into the grid but I don’t want to have to do that..

I get Cali is currently ran by commies, but this is why I live here. The worst "spring weather" we worry about is maybe a day the temp hits 80 lol. You all need to migrate this way! We can use more preppers out west! Cheers! 🤙
