For his debut album, From Hell I Rise, due out May 17 on Reigning Phoenix Music, King, on guitar, enlisted drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah), Phil Demmel (formerly Machine Head) on guitar, and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel). Working with producer Josh Wilbur (Korn, Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Religion), the vast bulk of King’s solo album was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles. Meet Kerry King on a Southwest airlines trip from Socal to Norcal during the Unholy Alliance tour. I was in the front row of the plane right by the door with my head down preparing for an ass ride home when I saw Kerry’s tattooed leg walk by. I immediately knew who it was without even looking up. The moment was surreal for the young me and, looking back, I’m still surprised with what an amazing guy he is, besides the musical talent. Not only was he the coolest and most humble dude in conversation, but he gave me tickets and backstage passes to the show. One of the best times of my life hands down!
i live in rural southern oregon and i wanted to go see slayer on that tour so bad in Portland if only my parents hadn't move our family to oregon from the bay when i was 14 in the mid 00's

Not that I know what I'm really talking about but anyway, as someone who sang for a few years, and also based on my observations of pros, I suspect what Mark is doing here is one of the most technically difficult things to do. Engaging the false chords along with the regular ones and controlling them both so well. It's like there are 2 voices here at the same time. I think that's crazy hard, and relatively few singers actually do it. 2 cents.
@@eon14873 I have been a huge fan of Death Angel since their second album, and my favorite album is the Evil Divide. Their first album, actually, is my least favorite of all of their albums. They have gotten so much better over time.
I think they will excel in their style in this lineup. I wish the band many great new hits. 💯👍🤘

As a Slayer fan I see no reason for a reunion other than to see them live again. This is great!
If they were to do a reunion they should get Jeremy Wagner from Broken Hope to play lead,that way It would be Jeff's guitars on stage.

Death Angel's album "The Ultra-Violence" is one of my favorite's. I got to hang out with Mark on his 21st Birthday back in 1987.
The solo is one of the most unexpected and pleasant surprises of this song! Incredible!

I saw him filling in with LoG in 2022 and he was PHENOMENAL.

Highly divergent results. Now it sounds unnatural, like a bunch of old men playing rock in a pub. Cult Of Luna are much better performers and if Kerry had not missed the opportunity, he should have teamed up his project with Swedish musicians.

I grew up in this little enclave called Newark. Paul Bostaph lived in Ight down the street by the high school. Passed his house all the time never even knowing a fuckin legend grew up there

Took him 7 years to go from Skow No Mercy, to Seasons in the Abyss .. Took him 7 years to go go from the break up of Slayer to put out this crap .. The intro of the song is simply a self parody of World Painted Blood .. Just pathetic .

@@gregsimmons694 I've never liked Megadeth, mostly because of the screechy weak vocals, and I know they are talented musicians but "Mega-Dave" never keeps a stable line up in his band. I don't care for that style of guitar either.

I was always Hannemann Fan, and I still and forever will be. And the words, Kerry said after Jeffs passing weren't the best way to talk about an bandmate, who he was in the same band for over 30 years. But honestly, this song ist kicking ass, and for me the most important thing: It is NOT Slayer 2.0.. It has definitely something outstanding, something own. A great song. A brutal song. And the vocals are amazing. Looking for the album.
Jeff is under appreciated by the generic metal kids who know maybe just 5-6 Slayer songs, some even think King did ALL the leads. I'm not a hater though, he's a legit good songwriter and when he took classes to make his solos better before Seasons and continuing to do so for Divine, he was real fucking solid with his leads in those 2 albums too, it showed he put more effort after that dry spell he had on SoH which is mostly a Jeff/Tom masterpiece music-wise.

Hello. I can not disagree more. Very good riffs, very good song. But for me it sounds still like "Repentless outtake". Exacly the same vibe, like nothing changerd, not even little step forward was done by Mr KIng.
So far, I have this as my metal album of the year. 10/10 perfection.
