Funny enough Philip, Part 3 will be out later on today. It is uploaded ready for being published. Just sorting the description out. Thanks for watching Part 2 and my pier build. Also for taking the time to comment. It is very much appreciated.
Fabulous work there. Ben. Thats going to be a fantastic obsy when finished mate. The price of materials is totally ridiculous but you will still be cheaper and there is something special about making your own. Clear skies mate
Cheers Glenn. It's getting there. I know what you mean when you put your own sweat into something, cant wait till its all done along with all the other projects. Everything is sky high and I could have went budget but this is something I wanted to chuck some money at. Just need to try and shop around for a bargin I think. Thanks for watching mate.
Fantastic overview of the work Ben, thank you for sharing mate!! :-) It's great to see how this is starting to come together, can't wait for the next one buddy! Clear skies :-)
Hey Luke. Thank you very much mate. It's getting there. Nearly pay day so will be ordering that wood for the frame. Can't wait to start putting it together and sharing it. Clear Skies buddy!
Congrats cosmuzz. Now we all are waiting for your awesome projects to rollout. Btw if you plan sorta sliding roof i recommend you to install solar panel to have its own offgrid kinda power. For your astrophotography equipments.
Thank you Abdul. Good idea. I wouldn't do that right away as got a lot to pay for on other house renevations. It is something to consider for the future as I also eventualy want solar panels for my house. Thanks for watching!
Enjoying working through the build playlist mate. Looking really good thus far. Those bricks look like beefier versions of the Staffy Blues. No idea why I know that...
Excellent to see the build coming along and what a top job you've done. That will be super solid and stable. To be honest, the pier actually looks like a professional build with it painted and all. Certainly looks like a lot of work but must be very satisfying seeing it come together and being built by yourself. Looking forward to seeing the next installment.
Oh wow thanks Logan. What a great compliment. I am definitely proud of how the pier turned out. It's always nice to see your own work come together, especially when alot has gone into it, and yes it is very satisfying. Hope you enjoy the coming videos. I recon there will be quite a few more in the pipe line. Take care and Clear Skies!
Cracking job Ben, as a builder, I know only too well the cost of materials! It’s not going to be cheap mate, but trust me, it will be worth every penny when it finished 👍 Clear skies!
Thank you Simon. It is going to be no budget build, thats for sure. At least I get trade discounts on some stuff. Glad I got the builders approvel lol. Take it easy mate!
it's great to see your observatory build and you sharing your experience. As the price of timber is so expensive have you considered actually building the lower half of the observatory in bricks and mortar, it might be the cheaper option?
Thank you. I have thought about it as it is, like you said, a cheaper way and I havn't written it off to be honest as it is a good idea. Having said that, I do prefer the all wood way as it is going to be easier for me and also I like the look better. Going to give my self a few weeks to make some choices and crunch some numbers etc... Cheers for your input by the way, I do appreciate it. You can sometimes get wrapped up in it all and not see a better way.
Awesome mate blue engineering bricks eh Ben right so you've used the dry base you don't need to use the dry base on the blue engineering brick they originally build houses with them because they fired in the kiln more than a normal red brick which makes it stronger and also that dense water can not get through them pair the dry base on to the wood instead mate as it's designed for wood too job buddie keep it up see you soon
Haha.....Too late mate. I coated the sides already. To be honest I did a poor job cleaning the bricks off so used the rest of the DPM to tidy it up. Talk about over engineering the job lol. See you soon buddy. Talk about it some more.
Well done Ben. 👏 that's a lot of work you've done there. It'll be worth it in the end. Clear skies bud.
Cheers Rob. and thanks for watching.
Yeh, alot done so far yet still quite a lot to do. My account is taking a bashing at the moment haha.
Great progress so far Ben! Look forward to your next instalment. Cheers for the shout out. 🙌
Cheers Dave.
No Problem mate.
