- Yes, I finally add a B2 to the collection but it’s going to need a little work to bring it back. It’s missing a few small parts but hopefully, I will be able to find them in time. As the B2 was only released for two years, these are not that easy to find in the wild these days, especially in the UK.
The good news is not only did I get the buggy but it also came with a bunch of extra parts, box, manual, promotional paperwork and a new unpainted body.
In this video, we talk about the history of Team Association as well as how the B2 fitted into the massive winning streak back in the day.
Coming off the back of the massive success of the RC10 family, it was a big step for Team Associated to undertake releasing a totally new designed buggy with all the pressure of whether will it live up to its predecessors.

I got an RC10B2 kit form Christmas in '95 with a Futaba Magnum Jr. Loved the car, loved building it more. Mine had no ESC, no motor, just bare bones but had full ball bearings throughout.
B2 is a rare car as it was only released for one year before the B3 came out. The B3 was on sale for years.

Gavin i love that you are getting more into Team Associated Cars. They are a huge part of my childhood and the nostalgia is real.
I don’t remember them from back in the day apart from the RC10 GP, but I’ve really got into the early kits from the GP to B4.1
The B2 was a game changer! Then they had the conversion kit ... Then B3 FT ( the carbon parts were a bit too stiff and became brittle) most went back to the composite material.

Another great Video Gavin! Love the history/montage bit at the beginning, with Becca's voiceover setting the scene! That B2 really is a stunning example of this hard-to-find buggy (arguably more rare than an original Worlds?) due to the short release & number of cars being converted to B3 spec. The B2 really represents a cross-over onto a new era for Team AE, the use of graphite impregnated plastics was almost in answer to the Losi buggies at the time (ProSE then XX) - but the manual & literature is pure Associated of this generation, the manual in particular looks much like the RC10 instruction, with photos instead of the CAD generated images that you see in the later B3 manual. The B series buggies never seem to be remembered as fondly as the Losi Double X - especially here in the UK, the B2 was a trickier car to drive than its more docile rival, & thus was less popular at grass roots/club level - the B3's changes I think were made to make the car easier to drive & set-up. Sooo.... its got to be said - you can't have a B2 then B3 on the channel & not get in a Double X to compare! (wink)

Nice! :) the battery strap you have is off a T3 most Likely as the chassis is longer than the buggy. Carbon tower on yours will be a team/factory team upgrade. B2 front towers had two top mount positions and the B3 had 3 mounting positions. I’ll probably regret getting rid of that B2 I had a few months back ;) look forward to the B3 vid !
I love my RC10B2 I picked it up at a yard sale for $60.

Hi, nope I don’t have one yet. I’ve only got a T2 in the collection currently. Not an easy one to find in the UK.
I had a couple of RC10's back in the mid 90s......no idea what they are but they are somewhere at my folks. Got back into them but the modern ones during lockdown.....excited to see how this progresses!

I still have my original B2 that I bought new back in the day.. and I just found a NISB B2-B3 conversion kit for it, but I think I'll keep it as a B2. Also have a T3 - the perfect duo imo.
I still want a gold pan rc10.. I had an original gold pan chassis as a kid but never got the gearbox or suspension to go with it. Sadly I scrapped it about 15 years ago along with all the rest of my vintage RC stuff. Something I totally regret

the rc10b2 was my first race buggy. I still have a mint condition box sitting here on display in my garage 😁

It easy to find these days for sure. My B3 is a team car but not the B2 like yours.
The B2 you have there did not come with a ESC or Motor out of the box.
The suspension arms brake realy easely

They were rollers , without electrics , i had a Team Associated B3 Team version., The competition kits were always without electronics
Nice find! These are great cars, but I think the J Concepts wheels are meant to fit modern tires. I got them so I could run 2.2 tires on my B3. They're a lot like the originals, but slightly larger. Great for a runner, as most 2.2 buggy tires should fit, but I'm not sure if the new wheels will work with original tires.

I’m not sure, I’ll give them a go and see how well the original tyres sit. I can’t get mint vintage rims in the UK so if the original tyres don’t work I can get modern versions that will look almost the same.
@@RCKickschannel Starbringer is correct, the kit tyres (same as supplied with the original Worlds edition RC10) that you have are actually 2.125" dia - they'll fit the 2.2" JC wheels for sure, but might be slightly tighter & look a bit more low-profile when mounted. Incidentally, the wheels fitted on a B2 Sport model are 3-piece items on the front (again a-la Worlds RC10) & on the rear have the tapered holes same as on the earlier ali-pan RC10s, which suits the stub axles which accept the dogbone shafts - where as the Team kits have UJs.
The front carbon fibre shock tower is a genuine Team Associated B2 part. You have the bag and header card it came in in the box😉
Yep it just has the two top shock adjustment location.
im pretty sure you needed to buy the esc. i had the rc10t2, which was pretty much the same, but stadium truck and i couldn't find a b2 which was what i wanted... but sheldon's hobbies told me it was the same except with the truck conversion... after it was stolen i picked up an rtr t3 which i still have today.

I'm not an expert, but I would imagine that Associated might still have some Re-re original parts for these cars. I so wish they would bring back their pan cars.
Yes I think TA have missed out massively over the last 2-3 years as the vintage rere market exploded. I do feel sorry for them as releasing the Gold Pan and Worlds didn’t do that well but it was too early and the vintage revival wasn’t as big so I guess it put them off. Shame.

Yep, it’s lovely and becoming the one to get. The condition is perfect so I’m super pleased. Since this video the B2 has received some vintage cells, vintage receiver and ESC. I just need a pro painter to paint up the body for me.

I just got a original rc10. B2.that I’m going to restore.mine isn’t in bad shape.
Good find, not that many B2 buggies around due to the short production time.
B2 wheels and tyres are not 2.2". They are 2.1".
I have both B2 and B3 cars, they handle quite differently. Both Awesome buggies. I run Orion 13 triples in both buggies. I have RPM front arms on them because stock and graphite arms break quite easily.
I have a B2, its been retired.

Find it kinda funny whoever sold it to you didn't auction off all the parts (cvd go for $$$) for buko dinero
CVDs is what I need for mine, they still work but they are very very worn out.
