Awesome guys. R&R is the best thing 👌
Thank you.
A bit of a holiday video but it's all part of the process.
Cheers for watching 😃
Hydrovane! Yay! We LOVED your holiday. The tall ships were…AMAZING! Your beers looked delicious, too. Thanks for inviting us along. 😎🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰😎
The hydrovane is mainly for the emergency rudder, once we get the rudder for it.
It was cheap. The story of my life.
Cheers for watching 😃

Thank you for subscribing.
We are really happy that you enjoy our videos.
A lot more to come, a full boats worth.
Cheers for watching 😃
What a great positive episode! Hard work but also having some fun. I found out that you have to make your own luck just as you are doing. My wife and I went to tall ships in Denmark many years ago. We asked the captain of a German boat if we could climb up the mast. He said: "Did you drink alcohol?" Well.... yes. "Come back in an hour." We did and got to climb to the top!!! We go a crew T-shirt from him. Great memory.
That's cool.
We tried to get into some engine rooms but no joy.
Cheers for watching 😃
Yes that’s true a lot of the time. The harder you work at something it seems luck follows behind the work 👍🖐🍾❤️
I often think the harder you work, the quicker it's done.
But life is a balance of work and play.
Cheers for watching 😃
Yess i like your site!!! Keep at it ,looking forward for next one .👍👍👍💪💪
Thank you.
A lot more to come.
Cheers for watching 😃
Good on you stu and marina. 28 thousand is just the tip of the iceberg for you both. Enjoy looking at the tall ships and enjoy your shopping 😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍have fun. Cheers
Thanks!
We're amazed. It's crazy
Cheers for your support 👍
That Spanish, Pirate, Tall Ship!! is one cool looking Ship! Thanks for taking us along on the feastival tour, looked like a lot of fun. cheers.
Thanks for watching!
That Spanish boat is a cool ship.
Whenever you feel down and out, just watch some of your videos, and you'll feel so much better. It works for me.
Love that!
Sometimes we can't see the progress made.
Cheers for watching 😃
Keep up the good work even though it is obviously hard, and laborers, it’ll be worth it in the end. Love your show
No boat project footage this week.
Hope you enjoyed the tall ships.
Cheers for watching 😃
You two are amazing, and what a lovely couple you make! The tall ships must have been great to see. Anyone who thinks you are having an easy time of it needs glasses and a hearing aid LOL
Hiya Ray.
It's not all bad. Just needs a bit of love.
Thanks for the comments. I like to hear what the regulars have to say.
Cheers for watching 😃

Loved the tall ships and of course the video. Glad you managed a short break (between sourcing and buying boat bits), should call this episode trains, boats and sails 😂😂😂
Cheers genius!
Trains, planes and hydrovanes.
Hope you are keeping well.
Today more sanding.
It's taking an age but once done I can move onto sanding another part.
Six months of sanding and a week of painting.
Doesn't really seem fair.
Cheers x
I went and see the tall ships the last time they were in London back in 1989, it's pritty amazing.
We can agree.
Cheers for watching 😃
Really enjoyed this post .nice to see you guys out on a mission and holiday ..., getting a lot done already this year ...hopefully that Yanmar fires up for you👍 ....Harry
Slowly slowly.
Some jobs do take an age, but hopefully, it will be worth it in the end.
Cheers for watching 😃
So cool, you should have at least 1 mill. viewers! Don´t EVER give up!
Thanks for your optimism.
Glad you enjoy.
Cheers for watching 😃
Really good and interesting video, loved the tall ships.
Glad you enjoyed it
Cheers for watching 😃
Well you certainly packed a lot in to that trip 😃🍻🍕
Bus man's holiday...
We found a few bargains along the way.
Cheers for watching 😃
Not to be unfair to the other couples building/restoring boats/ships on UA-cam you are the most inspiring. Living the dream on a shoestring compared to the others budgets (I can honestly say I've not heard of any of them humbly and unabashedly dumpster diving in the cast offs for parts and building materials, Bravo!!!). I've also pondered who finances these seemingly jobless people while you stoically shut down your project to go off and earn enough for another year of living and rebuilding your passion. You two are the truly relatable to this old retired blue collar Tool & Diemaker. Good Luck.
Thanks Dave,
We are just doing us. Can't be anyone else.
Wish we didn't have to work winters but on the plus side, we can ski...
Cheers for watching 😃
Glad to see you guys got time to enjoy yourselves before you get back to work, it'll be good for you both.
A little is always nice, even if it was a bus man's holiday.
Cheers for watching 😃
I saw the tall ships when they were in Dublin. We had sailed over from Pwllheli in my friends ketch in company with a couple of other boats. We moored in Dun laughrie marina and took the Dart train into Dublin and saw the big square riggers moored on the Liffy. Most impressive. Many bands and stalls along the waterfront and a great party atmosphere. Finished the night with five pints of Guinness and the best fish and chips ever. Surprisingly I wasn't sick and didn't have a hangover.
Sounds like a wonderful trip. To see the ships at sea would be amazing.
Cheers for watching 😃
Hey great video, love the warts and all journeys you let us see. Never mind the nay sayers - you deserve a holiday - even if it just means a ton of exercise - weight lifting for Stu! The tall ships were lovely, good to get that time in and recharge (with your inverter!). Look forward to the next installment. Keep 'em coming.
We'll try.
So much to do.
Some jobs just seem to take ages...
Cheers for watching 😃
Terrific post! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Travel. Many beautiful places. Resource gathering. Barge toting and bale lifting. Fine dining. Many boats, including a Tall Ship Festival. Lots of color! What more could we ask for? Thanks and take care. See you again next week.
Thanks Carl.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Cheers for watching 😃
Great seeing the Norwegian ship come in with all the tops manned.....
Some of those boats are massive.
Awe inspiring.

This is a must see episode as Stu carries the windvane in treacherous weather, we tour the TallShips and Bob manufactures something special. Truly amazing cinematography and exceptional editing. Marvelous!

28k subs you say? And up to 29 I see above. Well, you ARE intercontinental stars of the silver screen, a swashbuckling rogue with the beauteous Mata-Hari sea-mate. How is this not irresistible?
Just a couple fixing up an old sailboat...
Thanks for your kind words.
Stay tuned, I'm sure there will be some exciting times.
Cheers for watching 😃
The tall ships were amazing.
Those ships are truly amazing.
Cheers for watching 😃
Thoroughly enjoying your journey Stu and Marina, keep up the great work. It was great to see a bit of Hyeres when you picked up your engine in the last ep, I’ll be there in October (coming from Australia) to supervise the delivery of a new Beneteau to an Aussie customer who’ll be cruising the Med for a few months before undertaking the long journey home. Haven’t been to Hyeres before so loved the unexpected vision and connection. Gradually Seabird is coming together and your muck in and can do attitude is infectious, you are inspirational and a breath of fresh air, thanks for sharing it :) Cheers, Geoff
Thanks.
Inspirational..? We're just fixing up a little sail boat.
Cheers for watching 😃
Have fun on your trip to France.
Love this episode, and your style to document the journey. Good luck with your part chases!
Thanks.
We are glad you enjoyed this episode.
A look into our life's.

You definitely make all your own “luck” guys. It’s a great existence you lead but I can guess the kind of work it must take. I just love tagging along. ❤
Thanks Robin.
Luck and faith run hand in hand.
Cheers for watching 😃
Truly enjoy your videos! You ARE lucky to be taking on a project most of don’t have the guts to attempt. Can’t wait to see the end result!
Guts or stupidity..?
We too are interested in the final results.
Cheers for watching 😃
A great video guys. Always spectacular to see the Tall Ships up close. Seems like a few good additions for Seabird too. 👍👍.
Slowly slowly we are collecting all we need.
Now just install all and bits and off we sail.
Hehe
Cheers for watching 😃
Tall ships. What is there not to like or love about them? Bloody interesting.
Thanks 😊
It was fun to see all the boats.
Now back to real boat work...
Cheers for watching 😃
Thanks for taking me on (virtually) on your holiday trip. I felt guilty not carrying some of the weight for stu. I enjoyed the tall ships.
Love the tall ships and the video. I'm renovating a house and constantly searching for stuff at rubbish tips/garage sales and online ... my friends and family think i"m just lucky too :) 28k subscribers is awsome! Cant wait untill your full time utubers and sail to Australia ... Moruya South East NSW ... we have a river inlet 😊
We love rivers and NSW
Bins have some great treasure.
Cheers for watching and good luck with the house 😃
Thanks!, and keep up the good work
Thank you so much for the contribution.
It goes a long way.
Cheers for watching 😃
I just binged your whole playlist and now I can't wait for more! Thanks for an amazing series so far :)
Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for watching and joining our journey.
It's fun if it wasn't for the months of sanding.
C’est toujours un plaisir de vous voir bises
Great episode!! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cheers for watching 😃
The insurance man needs 2 years to inspect the rigging of these tall ships😂😂😂😂
No way. That's crazy.
Well said about the "luck" finding parts at a great price. Anyone who has actually done what you are can attest to the fact that everything is achieved by hard graft. Probably harder finding the gear than installing in many cases.
Yo!
Hope all is well.
How's the house building?
We now have a container full of boat bits. Just need a few nuts and bolts and the jobs done 🤣🤣🤣
Cheers for all your ongoing support 😃
Thank you, thank you for bringing us with you on your holiday. It was wonderful ! Love the way you research for boat parts. The same way I look for parts. I paid $400. For my 28 ft. sailboat and it came with a great trailer. I am refitting it completely. You are my inspiration !
Bless you both. 🙂 Cheers, S/V Cork ~Texas. How are things in France? The news here in the U.S. makes it sound like the whole of France is on 🔥 fire. Clearly from your videos it is not. Thankfully. ⛵
Our pleasure!
We would love to see some photos.
Good luck with it. We all need a little at times.
Cheers for watching 😃
Nice video, loved seeing all the tall ships. The Tolkien, at 25 mins31 secs, I saw that moored in Warnemunde in germany whilst visiting the Baltic last august. Nice looking boat. In answer to why so many people, including me, have subscribed to your channel, you are a lovely couple who are doing what many of us wish we could, and may do at some point in the future. Buying a boat and learning how to sail and modify/repair it as you go along. All the best, another Stu 🙂
Oh wow!
It's a cool boat. A friend was working on it at the last Armada.
Cheers for watching 😃
Last time I will offer, I’m an English carpenter living in Croatia and am willing to make some bits for your boat for free, I suggested handrails for your coach roof in the past but if there is something else let me know and I will see what I can do. I will even post to you in France at my expense. 🤷♂️
Hiya,
You name is on the list of emails to send. We do apologise for our tardiness.
We are so grateful for the offer and for sure what to take you up on it.
So so sorry 😞

Fingers crossed!
Glad you enjoy.
Cheers for watching 😃
That was a great video, very enjoyable adventure. Love Stewarts sense of humor as well!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Cheers for watching 😃
Really enjoy your videos, thanks. I got to steer a tall ship Lady Washington across Puget Sound once, sailed just like a sloop which was weird because of the square sails. Anyway, I want to suggest when you glass in the deck that you scarf the fiberglass. That is taper the deck around so there is no vertical edge to crack later.
Sailing a tall ship would be amazing.
It would be interesting to know more about the scarf joints you speak of.
Cheers for watching 😃
I appreciate the hard work y’all do to produce these videos, I know it probably takes twice as long to do the work you’re doing if you didn’t have to video and edit them. Thanks again.
Much appreciated!
Worth it, as one day this will all be a memory and we can look back on this adventure.

hope your safe and ok, with all the riots in France at the moment...

@@SailingSeabird ZZZZZZZ!
Was Great! Thanks
Glad you liked it!

Are you going to be using LiFePo batteries? If so you might want to set up your system for 48V. You can always use a step down for your 12V needs but the 48V will safe you a TON of money on wiring alone. Not to mention how much better the usable capacity will be. You can even get "server rack" batteries at a very good price.
Interesting idea.
We'll look into it further, with charging, stepping down etc.
Cheers for watching 😃
Great to see you having some fun and drinking a beer
