Absolutely correct about heat and humidity in the south. Have chosen to remove some plants just based on this in Williamsburg. Will try Phenomenal lavender and give it a try. But, any form of catmint has done extremely well. Hardy, full of flowers, not susceptible to the heat and humidity. Walkers Low is one great plant. Cut back completely in the fall and here it comes again in the spring, flowering profusely, with little to no care. A winner.
So i have 4x phenomenal lavender, one hidcote lavender, and had a nepeta , cat's pajamas, however- it's smell wasn't my favorite.. it was way too earthy yet minty... i replaced it with another phenomenal lavender !! well worth the money and lavender loves boring dry n sandy soil!!
@@BACKYARDBLOOMSWITHKIM i have no dry sandy soil too :'( HAHAHA i live in nyc, and regular lavender doesn't thrive here, but hidcote, and phenomenal are breeds able to thrive here in nyc !! i have them in planters !!
