If you use just regular paper or newspaper on top of the fabric while sewing (paper topside to needle, fabric bottomside to feeddogs), you will have NO puckering. As long as you sew WITHOUT any of the fabric stretching or pulled by your hands and using a NEW BALLPOINT needle in a SLOW REGULAR pace. I use gutermann serger thread or toldi-lok on just a regular sewing machine and its great VS ecoflex. Gutermann also has stretch/elastic thread but for bobbin thread usage only. Also, try basting or stay stitching the fabric pieces separately before construction. Look into Cheongsam/Qi Pao TRADITIONAL pattern and sewing which does not use stretch fabrics yet achieve the same sexy curves you wanted in this dress
