The fishnet shirt thing really takes me back. Some other things I’ve done/tried other people might find useful (though a lot of them are fairly basic): You can take cheap black stockings and cut a bunch of little holes in them which makes for a really cool look. Also you can take an old jacket and cut the sleeves off to make a vest. I’ve also heard that you can use hot glue to keep your pin from opening, just a little dot of hot glue and it’s good! In high school I took a white t-shirt and some masking tape and wrote out the word “rebel” using my masking tape then painted over that with red paint. After the paint dried I took the tape off and it had a pretty cool look. And old school diy I did a lot is you take a pair of socks, cut the heel and tip of the sock, and you get gauntlets. I did this with these fuzzy green and lime socks. Sewing can be time consuming, so I usually just use safety pints to attach my patches (unless I want them to look extra nice) which has the added benefit of making it easy to switch out patches. I’m the complete opposite of alt/goth so I didn’t think I’d find anything in this video that would appeal to me but your idea of heart elbow patches sounds so cute I’m definitely trying it!!!
When people think of Padlock chains they think of e-boys and e-girls, but I think of Sid Vicious the punk rockers padlock necklace is so iconic with him
What kind of candy boxes? Because I definitely pictured those *giant* heart boxes sold around Valentine's Day and was momentarily confused because those things are way too huge to be earrings lol. Do you mean like theater candy box sized?
Another diy I really like is pins made out of bottle caps. You just get bottle caps from beer bottles or something, trace the outline from it, draw whatever u want inside the outline, cut it out, glue it into the cap, then hot glue a safety pin onto the back of the cap (or u could probably use other strong glue or tape), and then it's done! Also I love this video, they have the coolest ideas for clothes and the sewing tutorial at the end helped a lot. I started sewing a few months ago and it's really bad so the tutorial helped a lot!
I forgot to mention that u can paint inside a bottle cap. I made a cool swirly design with the trans colors. It takes a day or two to dry but it's so worth it
Love the bottle cap idea !!!! Thank you so much for sharing , excited to try it out :D I have some cute Halloween stickers I think would look good in a bottle cap :) Thanks for the sweet comments ! Hope your day is lovely 🥰🥺
this is such baby goth/punk info, it just warms my old punk heart 😆 Edit: everyone should wear crop tops. it doesn't matter what your body type or pronouns are, they're cute and comfy, and you will look great!
Yeah! I thought I mentioned that these are really basic tips and I’m just trying to help out other people who might be new to the style And yes I think I mentioned that also :-) cheers
a lil diy from me: if u have a belt u dont fit into or want anymore, put it around your neck (stick wit me here - dont k!ll urself thas not what im gettin at askdfbashek) then, mark the spot wear it would fit y'know? so badically cut a hole in the belt (it takes a long time ugh ik) then chop off the excess! now go by ur cat/dog/puppy/kitty selfz
A good tip for preserving paint/ink on clothes (if you have an iron) is putting a piece of fabric over the clothing item (to protect the paint) then ironing it for a couple of minutes (which helps it set into the fabric). Of course still try to wash the clothes with cold water but it helps preserve it so much better and you don't have to worry about them as much when washing them.
what I like about this is I feel like I'm having a conversation with someone and hanging out it's so cool! much more fun than just watching a tutorial :)
You’re so sweet! I didn’t think anything of the third person pronouns and appreciate you using them and respecting them tbh ❤️🥳 ty ty and so happy to hear I have a comforting vibe aww 🥺 I’m honoured ❤️
Kinda unrelated, but: Me: *wears a goth outfit with a band t-shirt* My parents: Ah, Gorillaz! I listened to them so much back in the day! Me: *wears a goth outfit with a regular shirt* My parents: *WHY ARE YOU SO DARK?! ARE YOU BECOMING ONE OF THOSE VAMPIRE GOTH KIDS?! I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU BECOME A GOTH-*
Kinda unrelated: Listen to those songs/ bands with your partents and talk with them about it. It makes it waaaaay easier for them to understand why you like "darker fashion". Because they remind their youth and it doesnt appear that akward to them anymore. (at least helped me and I wanna share that ^^)
@@powerplay2137 i also use doilies to protect my furniture from any scratches. i put them under all of my little picture frames, jewellery box, and other small decor stuff
I love to see someone bleach and takes tshirts and makes patches out of them. Right now I am on a kick of finding old kids monster high shirts and cutting them to sew on a shirt that fits me....going to try some of your other tips
YESSSS oh my god thats amazing !!!! I always see MH kids shirts at the thrift store I love the idea of using them for patches!!! Amazing idea and thanks for the tip! Good luck on all your DIYS 💕🥺
Thank you, just came across your inspiring video for some styling tips and found such creativity! I’m 55, I used to dress 80’s punkish/grunge but then lost my sense of style and started bleaching my jeans again and ripping my shirts but now I’m going to do patches and sew random things onto my clothes bc I love that texture. You’ve got such a cool interesting look, I can’t wait to make some jewelry (I’m an artist who hasn’t been creative for 2 years, so I bought paints and stickers, cigar boxes but they are sitting there, waiting 😂 thank you for your in depth tutorial and I love your wall with the ice cream/kitties/collages!! ❤️
Your vibe, your channel, your video thumbnail. I don‘t know why, I‘ve never seen you before, but when I clicked on this video I got a huge rush of serotonin and literally shouted „yeah!“ and did a yeah movement??? Anyways, thanks for this video, I think I will watch it 10 x bc it is now a comfort video.
Another tip: put jewelry on your clothes! Earnings can be use as pins and you can easily sew pendants and charms from bracelets and necklaces. You can keep the chain to make other jewelry or sew that on too. Works great if you have stuff you like but is too heavy or uncomfortable to wear or if you have cheap/questionably made earrings you don’t trust to put in your piercings :)
i have cut legwarmers from an old hoodie, ive crocheted a cat ear beanie and arm warmers, ive made many band patches by painting on old fabric from jeans andd ive also cut collars off of some tshirts to make them look and feel nicer🫶love diy
@@vivsadaptivelife9500 you can put some fray stop glue on the cut edges to help prevent diy clothes from falling apart. Clear nail polish can also help pantyhose especially from fraying once there's a hole in em

as a tip for bleaching denim (could work for other fabrics but idk) after bleaching it, do a cold wash cycle with no detergent in the washer and then air-dry, the color comes out less orange and more white
I absolutely love this. I love their hair, their clothes, their posters. I also love how they get their cloths and like style it their own way and how it's also very affordable. Edit: I commented too early. They teach you how to sew, too! OMG they are so amazing i swear!
your positivity is contagious!! watching this video makes me want to run and revamp all my old clothes i dont wear :0 ur super cool keep doing what ur doing
I know I’m super late but this video really helped!! I’m trying to slowly ease into the goth style so this information is a life saver! (They’re super awesome btw) I love all the designs for patches they did:D
For accessories: ( I’ll edit if I think of more) Dollar store lock. 75 cents worth of chain. Under 2 dollar lock necklace. Use safety pins to make a necklace as well. Backpacks made of old jeans are a little advanced, but sling bags are pretty easy if you can sew. Takes two seconds to turn old little kids leggings into great arm/wrist bands. You can easily sew little scrunch “spats” to cover your boots. Look them up online. Get cheap or vintage ribbons to use as tie on chokers Weave bracelets out of old soda tabs and elastic cord. Bonus: Highly recommend you learn how to do basic knitting with a loom to work of open knit quickly to do cute loose layered striped sweaters.
Your little speech in the beginning was adorable and I want you to know this was exactly the video I was looking for, a friend showing me their cool stuff to inspire me to make cool stuff 🥺❤️

It wou've been amazing if people like you have been on YT when I was in highschool (early 2010's) camera quality and fun personalities. Ugggh fun young alt people have such amazing access to fashion and tutorials of things today, makes me so jealous. THAT being said I will definitely be sharing your video with my late teens cousin who is just getting into the alt/goth fashion style. Thanks for being a fun engaging person in your videos!
I’ve always struggled to see patches onto trousers so I just cut a hole a bit smaller and roughly the same shape as the patch then almost repaire the hole with a patch, so if you’re struggling I would recommend that :)
I really enjoy crop tops they make me feel amazing! CROP TOPS FOR EVERYONE!! I love your stars in your hair!! BAD ASS JACKET THOUGH! Aw the necklace idea with your pets names is a great idea!! So cute!
I just found this video since i recently got enough courage to wear the type of clothes that I want so im gonna change my old clothing. Thank you so much for the tips and even for the sewing tutorial!! Idk how to sew so this helped A LOT. Also just wanted to mention that you borrowing clothes with your boyfriend is super cool and literally couple goals!
for the acrylic paint method if you mix in fabric medium to the paint that helps a lot. You can also heat-treat the paint by covering it with a thin cloth and ironing it! Helps set it
Wow i got a heart Btw at first i was gonna comment something like "***** I GOT A HEART" but while trying to find a family friendly thing to say instead of swearing, my brain though "Oh my gayness" and now I'm using that more often
When I saved this video to watch later, I was intimidated because you look really cool and I thought that I'd never be able to do anything in here but after watching, I feel much more hopeful for my wardrobe and inspired. I've wanted certain designs on shirts for years and years because I adore graphic t-shirts and shirts but hate just random brands... And now, I might finally see my dreams come true. Thank you for the excellent, relaxing and informative video.

1. dying clothes you found at the thrift store i found this white blouse and i got home and noticed it was stained ad i was soooo sad but i dyed it black and now its my favorite blouse
2. making cloth pins i made a little felt heart pin and i just sewed a pin back to it i got them on amazon for like 2 dollars(i dont support amazon anymore) but you could also just use a safty pin you can also tightly wrap like cotton fabric around a bottle cap and glue it and put another cap on the back and glue a pin to it and its a great way to use scraps
3. chokers chokers chokers! u can use just about anything to make a choker i made a ribbon bottle tab one and i make all kinds of them with fabrics they can really spice up any outfit
4 making belts and things i made a belt with the bottle tab chain thing and i like to tie it around my waist with like a baggy tee shirt it always looks really good!
5 this one isn't really a diy but steal clothes from your parents and siblings or partners i steal my dads old ripped and tatterd clothes and i costomize them or just keep them and i mom used to be really big in the hippie scene and she has a ton of skirts that she has gifted me i feel like this is good for people like myself because not everyone can really go to thrift stores and things
6. this one isnt really for everyone but getting into kandi is a really good way to make diy things like chains or other cool accessories
7 making things out of clay you can either buy polymer clay or you can make it like ive made alot of salt dough and if you use nail polish you can make your stuff really sturdy you can also find model magic and play dough just about anywhere i like to make buttons and pins charms earrings studs rings and so much more if you get creative you can make so much stuff
8 this goes along with the patch idea but you can just sew random bits of any fabric just in squares and make patches ive even used old towels( i washed and bleached them first) im working on a pair of patched up pants and using old scraps is a really good idea
9 embroidery is just a really good way to spice up old clothes you don't really have to use a hoop you can even embroider or paint patches i bought a 1 dollar sewing kit and i just doubled or tripled up my thread and i was able to make some really cool patches with words and sayings on them you can even do band logos
10 some people mifght make fun of me for this or some people may think that you cant really make alt stuff with tis bot crochet and knit are both really great to learn u can make a ton of diffrent things ive seen people make fishnets with crochet and ive made that big stripped oversized sweater that costs like 200 dollars ( i dont remember the name srry) but you can make alot of like swaeters and thigs and u can make ur own yarn i made plarn which is just plastic bags and you can really make some amazing things with crochet and knit

A cis woman is someone who is AFAB, assigned female at birth, who also feels like a woman. Their sex is female and gender is female. A trans man is someone who is AFAB, but he feels like a man, he is a man. A trans woman is someone who is AMAB, but feels like a woman, she is a woman. There are also people who are AMAB or AFAB, but don't feel like a man nor a woman. They are nonbinary.
There are also intersex people, whose biological sex is something else than male or female. They can identify as a man, a woman or a nonbinary person.
What is a girl supposed to “feel” like?

Guys, Gals and Non-Binary pals can we just appreciate how amazing this person is?
They have:
•Style
• Amazing personality
•Cats
•Sewing skills

I’m the complete opposite of alt/goth so I didn’t think I’d find anything in this video that would appeal to me but your idea of heart elbow patches sounds so cute I’m definitely trying it!!!
Aww I’m so happy to hear that it could appeal to you even if you don’t really do goth-alt looks ! Cheers !! Good luck on your elbow patch journey 🥳🥰💕
When people think of Padlock chains they think of e-boys and e-girls, but I think of Sid Vicious the punk rockers padlock necklace is so iconic with him
Putting anything and everything on earrings is my whole style. Candy boxes are always a big hit!
OMG I love that idea !!!!!!!
What kind of candy boxes? Because I definitely pictured those *giant* heart boxes sold around Valentine's Day and was momentarily confused because those things are way too huge to be earrings lol. Do you mean like theater candy box sized?
@@KaylaKasel I thought the same thing at first, maybe like nerds though? like the tiny tiny ones. i kinda wanna do that now

Omg ur right

Thank you so much for sharing , excited to try it out :D I have some cute Halloween stickers I think would look good in a bottle cap :)
Thanks for the sweet comments ! Hope your day is lovely 🥰🥺

a lil diy from me: if u have a belt u dont fit into or want anymore, put it around your neck (stick wit me here - dont k!ll urself thas not what im gettin at askdfbashek) then, mark the spot wear it would fit y'know? so badically cut a hole in the belt (it takes a long time ugh ik) then chop off the excess!

Love this tip! Thank you!!! ☺️
I’m deep in both the sewing and alternative community.. how have I only just stumbled upon your channel now??!
Ahhhn well welcome and thank u thank u for being here ! :-)
the earring back on pins is such a helpful tip for me, I used to lose pins all the time because they would always fall off my backpack :(

Love this tip!!!! Thank you for sharing :D 💕🥰
Omg got this 3 years later!! Thank you universe 🙏🙏

For accessories: ( I’ll edit if I think of more)
Dollar store lock.
Get cheap or vintage ribbons to use as tie on chokers
Weave bracelets out of old soda tabs and elastic cord.
Bonus:
Highly recommend you learn how to do basic knitting with a loom to work of open knit quickly to do cute loose layered striped sweaters.
I like the idea of felt patches
