I love my Athena. Sold off my Staccato XL to fund one. The Athena and my carry gun are the only pistols I shoot. Very happy and pleased with Atlas and hope to hit my 10k rd mark through it by end of summer. Great video!
Wow 😯 It really must shoot well for you to have sold your XL. I have a 2011 Staccato XL in Chrome and DXL black and I love it. It’s my EDC. Plus I don’t even think there are many more Chrome ones on the market. They stopped making them. Enjoy your Athena. Maybe it’ll be my next pistol. But I can’t get rid of my XL. Lol 😂
That’s an awesome review and great video as usual. The way you described the Athena is how I feel about mine and also my 5 inch Titan. Atlas builds a phenomenal gun!
Thanks for the review. I want THAT gun, love the look 👀. What are the specs for that particular gun (as far as build). I plan on ordering one direct from Atlas. Thank you.
Try and get your hands on the Laugo Alien. I would love to see your review on it. I’ve shot one a few times and it’s crazy lol just the design and features.
So atlas guns I heard u say production pistols,so there not hand fit custom,or are u meaning they already have what options U get besides the grip & trigger as a production pistol that’s already built there way only
These are not hand fit the traditional sense. Where humans are building guns in the same sense are say nighthawks does. Where a single human built your pistol. Fitted slide yo frame, mag well hammer trigger etc. every 2011 1911 has some assembly or fitting. Many today simply have some of the best CNC machines money can buy, Designers, engineers etc. to the point a machine can do 90% of the work. In producing parts that have the same tolerances as if a human hand fitted it.
It's not like my full custom thats built by a gunsmith, I'd say it's a semi custom. It's made by a gunsmith but the machining is very precise now. Whereas my 1911, had to have a lot of hand filing and shaping, and whatever I wanted done custom. I have an atlas and it's my user and life protector. The other is a rarely used conserved gun.
What he said. I own a Nighthawk Firehawk double stack, a Nighthawk GRP recon, a Stacatto XC, P Duo and STI DVC 3 as well as tricked out trigger jobbed CZ SP01 and Shadow 2. They are all amazing guns and my Atlas is appreciably better than ALL of them. Bar none. It is Gods 2011. This is standing on a ladder at the top of the mountain. My trigger now, after thousands of rounds is about 1.25 lbs on my Lyman gauge. Wow, wow, wow. I would sell every other gun to keep this.
Thanks for the perspective given in this comment. I literally bought one on gunbroker yesterday. I have been wanting an Atlas GW for years. I am assuming I will be selling my other pistols that I used to think were amazing. I absolutely am so excited that I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.
No. USPSA Carry Optics guns have to be on the Production roster, which specifically exclude SAO guns. It's fine for IDPA CO assuming it makes weight and fits in the box.
I own an XC. Absolutely love it. Only atlas I’ve shot was a buddies Artemis. About 50 rds. I felt XC shot a little “softer.” Artemis was slightly more accurate. About on par with my old STI edge. I have an opportunity to trade up to a very nice Athena for not a bad price. I don’t shoot competition. Not sure I ever will. Purely just range fun. Do you think it’s worth it? I know build quality on Athena is levels above but just plain shootability? Thanks
I think that’s a solid trade. Just because how well the atlas guns are made. You have all the features of the XC with some of the upgrades of the atlas. Trigger and grip module
@@19Clutch69 yeah I actually put in an infinity ignition kit and trigger and a steel grip. I have since acquired an Athena. Glad I didn’t trade the xc. Athena is nice but I highly prefer my xc
@@rdrgear yeah that’s really the only reason. Just because you can customize anything you could basically want on it. But the Atlas function’s the exact same basically so it’s really up to if you want to spend double the amount for a custom one or just get a clean stock look that comes with the Atlas…
@@bradpowell843 the Athena is 5500 and I know for a fact if I were to go customize an Infinity right now it would come out to 10000. So basically it’s double…
He’s not. I have several STI staccato pistols. You are talking to bleeding edge of performance here. The Atlas is just better. I would pick up my Athena every day of the week of my Nighthawks, Wilson or Staccato.
Staccato it is...lol. What camera are you using? The video looks absolutely amazing...But really, why spend all that money just to get beat by my Glock. True story...its the operator not how much you spend on the gun. Respectfully...it's a trophy
Yes yes yes, we know. "It's the Indian, not the arrow." But that same Indian with a top tier Atlas 2011 is going to dunk on the dude with the Glock if they are of equal skill levels. It's just fact.
@@doxide not so fast... Lol, I can't say that is fact. And what does the 2011 shooter say to the Glock user when glock wins... "that impossible..." Maybe a stock glock would be at a disadvantage, but a purpose built glock with a well equipped shooter would surely have both feet on the ground and ready to hit the corner 3 all day.
They are not cheap. By any means. But if you are in the market. Take a look at the Alchemy custom weapons Quantico review. It’s still not cheap but at 3500-4k it’s a bit more manageable. Thanks for watching! Appreciate you.

Great episode Jeff - I appreciate the different approach you took here. Very different than other tubers who reviewed this pistol. THANK YOU!
Excellent video and keep them gucci holsters coming! That gun is beyond my vocabulary…and pocketbook but someday..someday

Definitely need to get an atlas Athena as my range toy haha
Just bought myself this gun because of you lol
Great videos, when I get the pistol I’ll be reaching out for a holster for my Athena!
How easy is it to adjust the holster on your website to fit the Athena? Want to order the XC holster for my Athena
@@sinjinhowerton6338 not hard at all. Should I do a video on this. And add it to the website?
@rdrgear I just ordered an Athena…what’s the model of the safariland holster that you modded to make it fit? Thanks!
This review is 🔥. I have an offer to trade my Staccato P & XC DPO for a basically new Atlas Athena V2. After seeing this review I’ve decided to go it.
Hands Down the BEST Pistol I have ever Owned, Shot and Held in my life and it is a Perfect fit with the Trijicon SRO.
I just got a Staccato XC and had the same experience with the saftey. Will the Atlus safties work on the Staccato?

Definitely a handsome gun.
Hi there, question; in which division can I shoot Athena or Artemis any idea? Thank you
Oh man, I’m sorry I am not the go to guy for this one. Reach out to Velox training Nick is a uspsa gruru. Or google uspsa 2011. Sorry
@@rdrgear Thank you
You got the answer yet? I’m thinking limited optics if you’re running an optic

So, now that you have it, what do you think?
I believe , it could be used for duty if one got it with a 3.5 pound trigger , which I think they will do
The metal grip module. Once you fought with a suspect…..
Are you making these yet for the Athena? I just got one and am going to need one!
You can order the XC mod and add a note Athena
Can you use it in USPSA Carry optics’s class
I believe yes. I have not shot a match in a minute. So I am not up to date on the rules

Ps, are you single? And do you let girls shoot your guns? 😅😜
I feel like you exaggerate the whole thumb safey issue on the STI.
Idk - getting that extra contact on the grip with your support hand is huge.
I have a PURE CUSTOM HOLSTER for my Athena and it is the Perfect Carry Holster if anyone is looking for that type of Holster.

I have not. I have reached out to them to try an review there products. But no answer of of yet
Totally agree, Staccato marks their pistols up too much. Anything over $2k better be ALL handfit, ALL polished & tuned by 1 smith.
2k is asking a bitch much. Most hand fit guns start at around 3k and up.
I need 1!
Before Atlas started pining their grip safety i saw it being done on infinite ♾ 2011s
Infinity ♾ over everything!!!!
