I get you guys dont want him to record vertically but it would help if you share how he can record Horizontal video and share commentary same time.
Its difficult already to find the courage to record and now edit all this. Appreciate the support but lets go a step further and give him some tips

Know your constitutional rights and you win by knowing what to say in their face the next time, like this you won't feel intimidated in the future. Always stand up for your rights!!!!! What i would've said don't your have more important matters to deal with like the kidnapping that just happened than wasting your time with my so called video recording. keep up the good work David. P.s next time put your phone in your front pocket of your shirt and record they won't see your screen to know your recording.

You know what you should do, print out the laws which protects you from being restricted to record in UWI and carry it with you so that if they do it again you could flash it and say you literally have the right to record
