- Hi, Guys, I think I've found a budget solution to avoid colored gels from melting when placed in front of fixtures that produce a lot of heat while operating.

Wow thanks for this! I've been looking everywhere trying to find gels that I can put on the front of my Aputure Amaran 200d reflector without warping or melting and no one else has mentioned anything like this. Earned a sub from me!

Note! Thermal gels work but still can get burned if too close! Keep up the good work :)

You shoot indoors alot and create a controlled environment through your lighting setup.
But how do you shoot outside?
Do you also use lights outdoors?
when shooting outside you need very very powerful lights. so I'd suggest to use the sun as your main source of light combined with reflectors

I went to a camera store to get gels for a shoot the following day and they told me I can order them online. I told them "I need them tomorrow. This is why I am IN YOUR STORE TODAY." But they don't carry gels in their STORE. I couldn't believe it. I am from a generation when you needed something you went right down to the store and got it. Today, it seems a lot of businesses don't want to have inventory and want you to instead order something online. Well, that doesn't help when you need the item at 6 o'clock the next morning. The "convenience" of ordering online has inconvenienced me more times than it has been a benefit. Once again, technology so advanced it is useless.
