    Do bulbs ever explode or just shatter? How dangerous is it?

      @@PancakeLighting Thanks Logan, look forward to it! I come from a Photo background and I have always wondered why DP's include Frame Rates in their Cine Meter settings, I don't think frame rate has an effect on exposure? looking forward to being educated! :)

    assuming you don't need the barn doors to cut much I'd run them with the smaller barn doors top and bottom. allows better airflow as heat rises.

      Fair point. I’ve seen them ran both ways but figured it was just for convention. Heat is a good point although probably more relevant to big heads.

      @@PancakeLighting yeah likely not a big deal on 1k and below but it matters on the bigger ones

      Yeah I tend to use the sides horizontally clipped so the heat can escape

      My first thought, too. Better to have the airflow vertically than horizontally.

    Thanks for the video. How do you prevent light leakage from coming around the sides of the gel?

    Great video! Could you do this with a 2000w open face tungsten (Blonde), or will that be too hot to attach gel to the barn doors?

      Thank you! I’ve clipped gels onto 2K barn doors before. The thicker gel (Full CTB vs 1/4 CTB for example) will be more likely to melt First. If you are doing something like that, I would add some heat shield between your lamp and the color and you should be OK!
      Also, gels melt. It’s not the end of the world. Just have a couple pieces in case you need to swap it out during lunch.

    How can i turn my yellow fresnel light to white ?

    • @PancakeLighting
      @PancakeLighting  2 роки тому +1

      I like to think of it as warm white and cool white… but, you want to add CTB to a tungsten fresnel to change color to cool white. The problem is the thicker the blue gel, the more light gets cut.
