I think the thing I love about your work is that you really try and go for exactly what Uematsu was going for with his samples and you don't try and over-embelish it, which creates a very true to the source material sound while giving an idea of what it sounds like with actual instrumentation rather than over-orchestrialization.
@@suburbanindieNope, that's a recorder in its upper register. You cover the thumb hole half way and you have to blow a bit harder to get the right notes out.
This copper and string arrangement is absolutely stunning. Moreover, it respects the original spirit of Nobuo Uematsu without adding unnecessary artifice. Even the sound of a metal pipe with steam in the musical bridge is there. Bravo !
Out of all the Final Fantasy games, VII has a special place in my heart. The first game of the series I had ever played. The first video game to ever make me cry. The game that ensured I would not be a boring adult! Sure I spent my fare share of quarters at the arcade. Played NES, SNES and Sega games. Just didn't get into video games growing up. I was more into reading books. In 1999 at the age of 18, I bought a PS1 and FFVII. Haven't regret that purchase! As a reference for age, I will be 42 in 2 months.
The FFVII battle theme is so unfathomably unique. There's just so much going on at once - and it feels like nearly every piece of it is fighting for the spotlight. The amount of effort that must go into the recreation of these themes must be super taxing. But, gosh, it's awesome to listen to.
Wow... just wow. This has to be the most faithful interpretation of this classic battle theme I've heard. It perfectly captures the spirit and feel of the original while clearly improving upon it. Well done!
I'll never ever ever forget the incredible feeling of playing this game at my friend's house for the first time and hearing this theme soon after Cloud jumps down off the train! As ridiculous as it sounds, my friend and I literally held hands while we watched the opening to this game for the first time. I don't know exactly how these people did what they did when they made these games to cause them to invoke such a reaction from so many of us but the memories tied with these works of art have stuck with me for decades now. Truly remarkable...
@@SpoonyBard88 It does, you're right. You don't hear it until you get inside and start to climb down that 1st ladder near where Jessie gets stuck on the way out.
I'm a simple man in many ways. I see a notification telling me Orchestral Fantasy has done a version of the FFVII battle music, I click on it. Fast. Wasn't disappointed. Absolutely brilliant as ever sir.
My younger brother used to play this constantly and ask me to watch him play. It gave me weird nostalgic chills and I sent him this video. Great work as always!
I can NOT believe how well done this arrangement is! This is probably one of your most intricate recordings yet. Did you base it off of the midi score or were you purely working by ear?
Inject this content into my veins. Also, I sent you a message on the IG and never heard back (this was in response to something we discussed!). Just a friendly reminder :) Great stuff though!
I did those by just blowing wind through brass instruments and layering a bunch of them together! It's the same thing I did in the Mines of Narshe video as well.
Your first Sega track and now your first PS1 track?? You're going nuts! I'm glad to see you tackle FFVII, its synth is so poorly aged and benefits from your reorchestrations so much Edit: lol right forgot you already did FFVII before. Point still stands!
I sampled that from a salsa recording I did, it's a hit on the side of the timbales (metal drums). I added some distortion and delay to get the industrial kind of sound it needed.
Wow, the original score sounds kinda bland (boring). This stays very true to the original but somehow enhances it and makes it very exciting to hear! I don't know how you do this.

I agree!
100% how I feel!
Exactly. Thats the problem in remakes version.
Damn, that is a very good comment.
That's how a remastered theme should be, must remain the core components that defines the whole atmosphere of a music.
This channel is criminally under-subscribed to.
It's one of the only channels I have the bell icon on for UA-cam. He always releases these late at night. I get excited every time he pops up.
100% agree
that was my first thought
This entire channel is proof that the recorder is more than just a meme or a second-grader's toy flute. Recorders are real instruments guys.
True, but they are also funny meme instruments. They can be both.
Sounded like a tin whistle to me... correct me if I'm wrong
omg furret

It was definitely one of the more difficult ones to mix well!

Well done!
I love how faithful this channel's remakes are but I have a feeling that's why it's not quite as popular as it could be
I second that
This can be said for all (or nearly all) of Orchestral Fantasy's uploads!

I'm pretty sure Bombing Mission plays without stopping during the beginning of the game, even during battles.

My second favorite FF battle theme (next to the FFX one). The recorder melody is my absolute favorite part of the song.

Oh don’t mind us, we are just going through all your videos and giving them a thumbs up.
You ROCK that plastic recorder that my kids use to drive me insane.
Hell yeah. This was sick! And we got David back on the horn too! Awesome guys.

Liked before I even watched.
It's so perfect that my brain started to guess if it's fake. Congrats man, that was on the point of perfection.
My younger brother used to play this constantly and ask me to watch him play. It gave me weird nostalgic chills and I sent him this video. Great work as always!
you deserve 99999999 subs
Incredible as always. You deserve more praise.
Fantastic cover of a great song!
Those horns sounded incredible! Great job man!
I wish the remake sounded like this. Amazing job as usual.
Iconic
Found this channel recently and it just became one of my favorite channels. Amazing performance.
yet another perfect orchestral rendition.
thumbs up to your guest stars, they rock too !
No one ever covers this song! You did such a great job, it's one of my favorite battle themes of all time.

❤❤
Great teamwork on that super emblematic theme, I love it :)
Fantastic rendition of the original FF7 battle theme.
One of my fave themes of all time in 47 years of gaming.
I woke up to see this video posted, and watched it with a huge smile. Amazing work as usual.
You're the best youtuber. Officially a patron as of today!
Dude the fidelity of your covers is amazing.
Somewhat fond memories of hearing this over and over while trying to beat the Weapons...
Thank you so much for doing this it's always amazing! Such love and attention to such vital music.
This was my jam on this game! Especially when you summon Shiva into battle! ❄️❄️❄️
You deserve every praise from Uematsu-sensei himself. This is perfect! (I can only hope the FF7 Fanfare theme is next 😁)
This is my very favorite. Amazing job, I can’t stop listening over and over again 💕. The arrangement is just perfect.
Phenomenal! You really outdid yourself with this one!
This makes me nostalgic and I never even played this game
I'm blown away. This is epic.
Nice job, Andrew! I like the recorder added in there with the euphonium.
Oh man, I'm so glad you did the version from the game, just about every cover out there does the movie version which is not as good, great job
Magnificent!!! I appreciate all you guys and gals do!!
素晴らしいです✨7リメイクの戦闘BGMに使われてほしい❗
Absolutely spot on, as usual. This is amazing.
Great Cover!!! :D

Great stuff though!
Dude, a year from now people are going to listen to this song, look at the screen shot and say: "What the hell is that? That's not Final Fantasy 7!"
Amazing work
Great work. I'd love to hear a fight on cover from FF7
Very lovely!
Excellent.
pure perfection!
Beautiful :)
This channel is great. I would love to hear Jenova Absolute.
How did you get the industrial/piston sounds (for lack of a better term from me) from ~1:20 - 1:30 ?
I did those by just blowing wind through brass instruments and layering a bunch of them together! It's the same thing I did in the Mines of Narshe video as well.
@@OrchestralFantasy it sounded great in that one, too!
I love those improvised sounds!
Orchestral Fantasy i was wondering this too. I know this piece off by heart and it was all there in your rendition. It is amazing what you do!
In the original they were tambourines I believe, but played at a very very low pitch. Similar effect to World Revolution from Chrono Trigger.
Perfectly catched!
Just wonderfull

Edit: lol right forgot you already did FFVII before. Point still stands!
Would love to hear "Don't be afraid" as well!
hire this guy already
its like i'm playing it now
fantastic!! recently finished game, please, the song of JENOVA next!
how about the Boss battle music too? that woudl be badass. hopefully y'all got some 80s style guitars!
Ah....the theme that resulted in my crippling hand arthritus....good times....good times.
Holy fucking shit!!
#Salute
I need Main Theme FF7, Those Who Fight Futher, Aerith Theme, Tifa Theme, Motorcycle Chase, JENOVA, and One Winged Angel.
Dat limit break sound effect
What do you use to make that mechanical clanging sound in the background?
I sampled that from a salsa recording I did, it's a hit on the side of the timbales (metal drums). I added some distortion and delay to get the industrial kind of sound it needed.
Final Fantasy VI - Battle Theme please.
Please make another FF7 theme for HYPE FF7 Remake
Last
Wow, the original score sounds kinda bland (boring). This stays very true to the original but somehow enhances it and makes it very exciting to hear! I don't know how you do this.
How do I give you money?
why!? why didnt they get you to do the final fantasy reboot music. they did a shitty job, but you rock!
Excellent tone for all of horns here. I think this cover far outperforms the original.
a version more better than the remake for ps4, what a shame square... wasmore better contrating they in this channel to make it
