Simple offroad skills: Pop a motorcycle clutch
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- Lets learn how to pop the clutch and make the rear wheel spin! (or the front wheel lift!)
To my surprise, a lot of my students don't know how to do this, and its strange cause its such a useful technique, that when combined with a few more moves it lets you do all sorts of cool stuff like:
-Pop a wheelie over an obstacle
-Powerslide along a turn
-180 turns
etc (maybe thats it :P)
Its general clutch control, and you should practice it! :P
I hope you learn something today!

Nice to see the crf in ,,action,,!
recently discovered your channel, and man! I love your videos...
Hold clutch, rev little bit let go of clutch?
Wow! For me this is something I do constantly when riding offroad! Every time I need to lift the front wheel, or every time I want a big smile exiting a corner, a nice clutch kick (or pop!) is a must have, at least on my 660z!
Can you teach me this technique? 😉
Thanks for this video... this is definitely a techinique I need to practice. Thanks for the email too, I will reply as soon as I can. Cheers!
Nice: indeed first time I see sone explaining this. And funny again ;-) not that I am worried, but is this ‘bad’ for or could this ‘harm’ the clutch?
I like your quick and easy method of explaining things. Even though I already knew about this, I hardly ever use it and will now start practicing it again. Thanks!
Thanks for the words Elias! I hope this new skill (or old skill that you re-learned again) serves you well 😁😁
Que linda moto 😍 Bom vídeo Diogo, obrigado 🙏
Obrigado por veres e comentares! 😁
Muito obrigado sempre muito interessante abraço
Obrigado por veres e comentares, Alice! :D
És um espectáculo Diogo
Superb
Thank you! I've been wanting to learn how to do this!
I never tried that, fearful that i'd damage the clutch. does it?
Sorry for not writing lately, been busy, but always there to watch and like. Curious about and expecting the video course. Good to see you, as always.
I've been told that some motorcycles that have frail clutches will not get any better if you do this.. on the other hand, i've done this on all my bikes all day every day and never had abnormal clutch wear. Actually, I think my XT660R clutch must be around 60k km now...
Popping the clutch is something you either dont do, or cant live without :P. I tend to fall on the second category.
Every single wheelie, burnout, and most powerslides involved a clutch pop somewhere along the way, so they cant be that bad :P
I say try it, but if you are not confident you bike can take it, dont abuse it ;)
how to wheelie, less gas?
You do the same thing with the clutch but you put your body in a different position (basically, instead of leaning forward, to lean back). This is a very very VERY basic way to explain this, but yeah... xD
Teach standing. Feels weird for tall rider
Hey Robert! Tall riders struggle just as much as short riders to find bikes that fit them, but overall I think its a problem easier to solve for the big guys.
Depending on how tall you are (or how small the bike is), usually just a change on the handlebar tilt, or a complete change of handlebar will fix your issues. Handlebar risers could be a good solution too.
But overall, for a simple exercice like this, you dont need perfect ergos to do it right, so I would say you are also experiencing a bit of lack of training (or correct information about your body positioning).
You should seek training from a professional, its totally worth it! And if you live somewhere close to Portugal, consider joining me for a "training tour" (or just the training) ;)
How fast dose that wear off the clutch plates ?
I never replaced a clutch in my life... my xt660 did 60k km in my hands and my crfs are all 10-30k km old :o
@@OFFroadOFFcourse thanks for the heads up
@@DanYakov-j5x if you do this right, you can do this as much as you need all your life without worrying (notice that i said NEED, not as much as you want, all day every day, 100 times, over and over forever and ever, until the end of times xD)
@@OFFroadOFFcourse my bike is barely breathing because of the previous owner and my naïve young self to buy it in the first place that’s why I asked, but due to how the bike is worn I’d have to replace the clutch plates either way :|
@@OFFroadOFFcourse but thank you for the advice looking forward to more content
Porra, ninguém parou no viaduto para ver o que estavas a fazer.
Popping the clutch while remaining sexually attractive is a high level skill…
🔝
Melhor explicação que vi sobre esta técnica. Continuem o bom trabalho.
Heheh, obrigado! Simples mas porreiro :D
I’ve only done wheelies by accident just throttling fast asf
Great tip for popping wheelies?
I'm convinced now..👍🤘🔥
great video simple easy fast expiration without watching u do 100 wheelies Thanks again
SUPER EASY TO UNDERSTAND. I love the step by step and just simplicity you make it. Thank you so much
boa,
abraço e parabens pelo canal
thanks for this, this will help me a ton!
It's like the alphabet😂🇦🇺🤠
Cool! Great tip 👍
i love you so much
Great stuff!
Maybe this will help me wheelie my crf 250 L... Which for a n00b like me seems like an impossible task 😄
For the 250L you will need a bit more technique, and combine the clutch pop with compressing the suspension and moving your body rearwards in order to properly lift the front, at least in second gear! It's totally doable, but on such little power engine it takes a bit more of effort!
Another great video Diogo
