The master of the moves. He influenced a lot of performers. That flying split was amazing, but the way he slid back to standing was incredible.

Thats the reason Dick paid Jackie's. Hospital bill after he stroked out I bet

@@adrienneflowers2237 I've read both versions about who paied the hospital bill. And also read/heard - though in this very moment I forgot - that it also were some other artist, except those you mentioned, that helped with the medical bill. AFAIK Jackie never died of the heart attack (during live performance of "Lonely Teardrops, Sept 29, 1975), though in coma to early 1976, then better, he even could walk a little, until he slipped back into a semi-comatose state until his death Jan 1984. Laying for eight F*****G years! Cause of death from complications of pneumonia. Whatever that now means but I guess he was pretty weak and vulnerable and thus prone to die of such complications. Very tragic ending of a such a phenomenal singer & performer. And personally tragic life, a son age 16 shot and killed. A daughter died by a heart attack (HA) at age 24! Who have a HA at that age?! Another young daughter died of an OD.

Profiles in Pittsburgh I met Jackie Wilson at the regal theater in Chicago. he was sitting right behind me with his mother watching the groups on stage. He had his nose in the back of my hair. I just sprayed it with revlon's honeysuckle. it was a great moment in my life when I turned around and our nose met. his mother smiled at me first and then he smiled at me and I didn't know what to do. I turned back around and could not move for the rest of the show. Rest in peace you wonderful great entertainer and great man. Hallelujah amen

+stan smith And the thing is, Jackie Wilson was a tough dude. He had many scrapes with the law when he was young and would fight at the drop of a hat even after he made it. But in those days success was about poise and style. Now it's the exact opposite, with suburban kids posturing like hoods.

I'd love to see it make a comeback but I highly doubt it. You have to remember this was post world war 2 and the American dream was born not to long after it ended. Maybe if we have World War 3 we may see things change as a result of it. Its amazing how talented this guy was and its unfortunate he performed in an era where racism limited the success of colored artists. Michael Jackson didn't have half the talent Jackie had and I believe he wouldn't of been very successful in the 50's/60's with Jackie as his competition. Of course MTV refused to play Michael Jackson and Prince videos at the beginning but the 80's were a lot less segregated so they were able to fight back.

stan smith -Those clothes styles did return, back in the 80s. Those guys haircuts in Beverly Hills 90210 & singer Nick Ashley, shoulder pads in suits, baggy pleated pants, wayfarer sunglasses seen in Miami Vice, thin neckties, big hair for girls, early 60s guys roach killer pointy toed dress shoes only this time only for girls. Even in 80s music rock, r&b & pop, the tenor sax that was big in the 50s was usually in there again.

I guess this is one of those situations where age and knowledge come in handy, you all are asking how Jackie can "move and dance like he did", He Was a Professional Boxer BEFORE he was a Singer....Look at his Foot Work and the "Levitation" from the Splits....That's what you get When You Exercise and Learn a Sport BEFORE Becoming a "Performer". Jackie Wilson had more talent in his boxing socks than most of these clowns today show in their entire 3 hour concert make believe today. JW was truly multi talented. And never got the credit he deserved.
