Thank's for the shout out! I think you'll find like I did that Testers Dulcote does not stand up to Mineral Spirits. The best product to use is an Acrylic clear, preferably a gloss coat before adding the mortar. When you're all done hit it with Dulcote!
Well now, the "Richard Petty Building" - my first impression was something found in Beatles' Britain, with nutcrackers standing guard. LOL, and no offense to our good friends across the pond. Those bricks are now lookin' good 'n used! And gotta love those vent pipes - maybe later in final stage, just add a couple of those missing top horizontal pipes, lying all dented and rusty on the roof? I really enjoyed those uncommon heads taking a trip around the moon - could listen to that all day and accomplish so much happy stuff!🙃 🚂Lawrence
Yes sir, I actually just ordered some roof details so I plan on finishing up on several more details with this build once It's ready to land once-and-for-all on the layout. You have good taste in music Lawrence!
@@OtterCreek TY Dennis. I don't really know much about music, but I do know enough, when it tastes good! BTW, I got those two volumes by Harry Brunk (Up Clear Creek . . .) He did not disappoint! Thanks for the tip.🚂
"Guters"? I think maybe you meant gutters. 😉 Really though, it looks great, as usual!! You know you're too good, don't you? You make me question everything I do. LOL You wish! But you still have the BEST music for updates!!!
Hey Dennis , this came out awesome . How makes that brick you used . I like how your roof turned out , it looks great , I think I'll try this on that building I showed in my Live Show.
Monster Model Works laser cut brick sheet. I used oil paints for the grout. I liked how it turned out as well, I'll have three more brick buildings in the silver gulch area, all will get the monster model works brick.
Less than five minutes in, I had to comment... First of all, the current picture of the building... the blue and red DOES make it look a little, uh, toy-like... (of course being a life-long Richard Petty fan, the colors do bring back some warm memories...but I digress.) Also, I saw that you had responded to one of my comments on a previous video, and asked about the yellow truck in my avatar picture. It's a '65 GMC that I've had for almost thirty years...and I've gotten offers for it, but it's not for sale. My dad has a '66 Carryall (the predecessor to the Suburban) that he bought from a house painter for $400 back in 1973. I basically grew up in that truck, and it's been a fixture in my life from the beginning, so I've always had a fondness for those trucks. Also as a result of all that, he started kind of a side business, buying and selling mid-60s Chevrolet and GMC trucks and parts. Now I'll continue watching the video.
Toy-like, yes that's a good way to describe that Richard Petty building! That's very cool that you still have the '66 carryall. My Scout Master had one of those, we called it the "Polar Bear". He used to pack us around places in it. I had completely forgotten about that! Thanks for reminding me of some good times!!
Very nice. I like the way you have blocked in almost the entire street of your version of Blackhawk. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks, I plan on getting back to structure builds this fall. Hopefully completing Blackhawk street before next spring.
Thank's for the shout out!

Monster Modelworks brick sheet. It’s a laser wood product. Part of Larkspur products.
I really like your brick work. What material did you use for this build
