I can justify all your changes except lethal scheme. I literally consider that card a black staple in creature-centric decks. Conniving is literally better than drawing a card about 1/2 the time. So that is 2BB convoke - destroy target creature or planeswalker, draw 2 cards (connive =1/2 a draw).
Anag marardurers wins games hands down especially with roaming Throne out. 😅 double double. And who pays the cmc for creatures in grixis? Not an excuse that was a bad cut.🙏
I am sorry I didn't watch the video, but looking at your list I can't see this being a good upgrade. Ragavan is not worth the dollar amount in EDH. The lack of Forerunner of the Coalition and Deadeye Tracker let me know you did the most superficial glances over the available pirates. Nesting Grounds is great, but not also adding power conduit is an odd choice. Add to that the amount of low impact low mana value pirates left in the deck without etb or on attack triggers to get the monkey in means this upgrade is not worth it. It won't actively make the deck worse, but you can do better for the price of Ragavan alone
Molten echos is pretty risky, isnt it? Since you cant realy cast your commander once its dead (legend rule) and so many cards like entomb and all the discard abilitys are pretty much useless. Thoughts? Im trying so hard to build a good deck around this commander :D Ill go with hymns (immortal sun, coat of arms, ...) and flicker + counter removal to save the boys from exile. If this doesnt work at all i'll stick to the old becket brass Thanks for the video! Big fan here!!
