I have this deck, but it's not fully upgraded with all these yet, and it goes nuts!!! Love getting the Hunting Velociraptor out early and just dropping big dinos with the prowl cost. I have had friends ask me to play my upgraded Slivers deck instead of this one because it's so good. For sure, this is a solid Power Level 8.
Agreed on Garruks Uprising, however, when trying to make decks like this work, I would always try to put synergy first. Heroic Intervention is great, but what about Ephemerate, which is protection AND a way to trigger Pantlaza again.
I do agree that Gishath is the better dinosaur commander overall. With Pantlaza, you really want to lean into cheesing the Discover mechanic as much as possible to cheat lots of dinos in. You can use blink effects, which let you circumvent the "once per turn" clause on Pantlaza, since it counts as a new instance of that card after blinking. Another route (or can be used with the blink strategy) is flashing in dinosaurs during each turn (including opponents) to get extra Discover triggers on those turns. Obviously, leaning into those strategies would probably require the deck being overhauled.
Thanks for this guys. Pretty cool additions and now it looks more like the one i built myself. On regards "Up the beanstalk", I really preferred "Elemental bond" that is one colorless more expensive, but more consistent.
I still don’t understand the wakening suns avatar cut. Best case it’s a board wipe. Worst case you discover it and put it in your hand and it’s a board wipe next turn
@@GuysThatMagicif there are still 3 opponent players in commander playing would this polyraptor/marauding Raptor/wrathful raptor combo go through all players until there is no more to attack?
Personally I find Gish so easy to deal with, even as a mono red specialist. You will be dead by the time you cast it, and I'll remove it anyways if you somehow survive the constant burn damage from playing your deck. Oh and the other players are going to exile it if i dont get the chance to melt it. Path and swords are in every deck at our tables. I cant see it working. Pantlaza on the other hand is exactly what it needs to be. Im going to continue to use this commander and have the other dinos in the 99.
So with polyraptors and marauding raptor, do you get an unlimited amount of ployraptors? Like a copy creates its own token and that token makes a token and so on and so forth until you have as many as you want?
Flaming Tyrannosaurus would have been a good fit with the discover mechanic. Wondering the reason why it wasnt considered. Fairly new to Magic in general so curious.
I’m looking at adding coat of arms to my deck. With the whole goal of putting as many Dino’s on the field as possible, casting coat of arms gives you +1/+1 counters for every other creature on the field that’s the same type. 5 Dinos and every dino gets +4/+4 it’s easily a game ender with all the triggers and abilities in the deck.
About Ravenous Tyrannosaurus, Something that I have only seen a few places but seems to be overlooked greatly. It does not give a maximum number of creatures that can be sacrificed and it DOES say you get those counters for EACH creature sacrificed. This would mean that sacking 3 creatures would get you 27 +1/+1 counters (3 creatures produces 9 counters for each of the 3 creatures for 27 total). Sacking four creatures for 48 tokens and five for 75 tokens. I could see this being used to quickly kill 2 opponents by attacking one and having the second ability target another's creature. My belief is that they messed up when writing the text for the devour on this card, but either way it says what it says. They may have meant it this way too. See Feasting Hobbit for an example of how it probably should have been written.
Love both videos great balance on what to do. I do have a question though? If you click on the moxfield link it takes you to the deck list. However Arch of Orazca is now in the deck but wasn’t in the video?
Want an instant win combo that’s absolutely broken for Dinosaurs? Play Swooping Pteranodon after using a card like Standardize or Unnatural Selection to change your opponents creatures to Dinos. Now when swooping arrives they are all your creatures now have flying and haste! Oh and if your opponent somehow survives they all take 3 dmg on return to them next turn lmfaoo
Dinosaur egg does not have defender. I find that this card dies often due to the fact that it grows quickly and can also attack. I don't think it should be underestimated.
I think y’all are sleeping on blink protection rather than Boros charm or heroic intervention. Eerie interlude to protect your board from everything and get etb triggers off your commander and other creatures effects.
I felt like I wanted all my creatures out of my hand so I could take advantage of my commander's discover mechanic, so the new Ghalta wanted a good amount of creatures in hand to really take advantage of that ability. That being said, you could still have the many ways to cheat Ghalta in early and take advantage but I just didn't feel the need for it here. Totally a good option still! -Hunter

When you can do a $300 upgrade and have money left over to add all the fetch lands, you know the precon was solid out of the box!
About $100 of the upgrade is lands that I already have for other decks! Super economic upgrade. I love it

Add "Savage Order" so you can tutor Apex Altisaur for a one sided board wipe since savage order gives it indestructible for a turn.

Thanks for watching! Sometimes the extra money is needed to really make these decks better
I think Garruk's Uprising does solid work in this deck, as well as cards like boros charm for some added protection on top of heroic intervention
a surprising number of mid-sized dinos don't have trample. that added trample damage can apply a lot of pressure

Do you need another piece to stop the loop of Poly Raptor and Marauding Raptor? That sounds infinite with no exit so you would stall the game
