I will never go away from physical media. What is crazy is the original video didn't discuss two other important aspects of movies at least. First, it doesn't rely on a broadband connection to determine quality. Physical media has hard-coded bitrates for both video and audio streams and does not rely on quality loss based on internet bandwidth. The better a person's home theater equipment, the better the viewing experience. It does not rely on a person's internet connection to even watch the movie, and there are no issues related to hot spots, or dats overages. Second, physical media at least in the last 15 years includes a digital code for the movie that can be entered and downloaded to any device. These allow for a type of portable network attached storage for any movie a person has purchased and redeemed the digital code for the movie. The only two benefits for digital media are portability for a phone, tablet, etc. for things like trips on airplanes or road trips, and the second thing is immediate accessibility to movies a person may not have already purchased. But with so many options for streaming platforms, including things like Amazon Prime and UA-cam allows for a fee to essentially rent a movie to watch if a person wants. Many strictly reaction channels use this as the price to rent a movie typically ranges from 99 cents to about $7. I'll stick to physical media, thanks.
Collecting Physical Media will always be superior. Its insane to me why there is this feeling from these streaming and digital snobs that say it needs to go.
10 years later and were still stuck in this ludicrous "Physical vs. Digital" debate that just need to die! And people need to wake up and understand that streaming isn't better than Physical Media nor Cable, Satellite and Regular TV! Not even Music! I'm sick and tired of those snobbish people on the Internet giving us a hard time over choices!
I can’t grasp how people think streaming is better. It’s more convenient to a person who doesn’t care about movies and music. Physical media however is always accessible, at your fingertips, more bang for your buck, better looking, gets you a woman example: wow, I bet he has such a Big collection! Should I go on!?
Nobody is AGAINST streaming. That's not the argument. We aren't trying to DO AWAY WITH streaming. This is in defense of physical media. Just because I want the vinyl record doesn't mean I don't want to be able to listen to the song in my car anymore. Streaming is nice to have. But it's NICER to have the disc when they decide you can't stream it anymore because Bill Gates bought the streaming rights and decides you aren't allowed to watch Ghostbusters anymore.
Physical media is superior because we are physical beings.. By their logic, we should be plugged into the system like the matrix. It is only "dying" because people have been engineered onto convenience as they phase out physical media.. But I am committed to physical media.. Yes it will become more like vinyl, niche.. But who knows the most about music? Record collectors. Who are the biggest film buffs? The ones with huge collections of DVDs/Bluray. We are the elite.
I will always go the physical media route. Yeah, it might be "outdated" according to some, but it's a concept that has worked for years. As the saying goes, why fix it if it isn't broken?
My primary concern with digital stuff, mainly regarding the game related stuff is when the shops close down we won't be able to get the dlc anymore, the 3DS and Wii U are key examples, it is the reason I got Smash Bros 3DS in the first place. And a few Virtual Console games too since they were more affordable since I don't have a job to earn money to afford the physical versions which I will get someday once I have a new job.
I prefer physical format over streaming for more than on reasons. Mainly because on streaming, you know you do not own it, even if you buy it. It can be gone at anytime. And i noticed like on Disney+, Films like Splash show movies with parts blurred out, and movies in general not in their original format. You said it all. No trailers, no commentary behind the scenes, alternate scenes/deleted Alt. Endings. etc.
A big reason to own physical media is retroactive censorship, especially with the first megadeth album they did a cover of these boots are made for walking where they changed the lyrics years later the original songwriter took issue with it so on streaming it's censored
Physical Media is not dying, it's still alive and kicking. I still buy physical media from Movie Trading Company in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (and before that, Rasputin Music and Video and Streetlight Records in the San Francisco Bay Area). Hell, I even buy Criterion Blu-rays (and most recently, 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays) at Barnes & Noble when there's a 50% off sale.
Any company can decide to pull a movie or show from streaming, even if you "own" it. Or they change them for silly reasons like "cultural sensitivity". No, I'm going to keep on buying what I want on physical media, and if that goes away, I'll sail the seas and store it on my server. `Nuff said.
Fabio I supported u for over decade and I have to say my bro yes ur right he’s wrong physical media is important to have because we own a part of something that we love and cherish because digital media will soon be wiped out or will be wiped out at some point into the future but it’s up to us to keep it going. Thank u brother I’m starting to collect more physical media.
How is streaming supposedly more convenient? I don't remember having to come up with a username and password and put in credit card details and wait for it to load cause a shitty WiFi when I was watching a DVD all I had to do was just grab it off the shelf put the disc in and press play and the movie would start
It’s even crazier when you talk about games. But overall I only use digital when I already own a Blu-Ray of the actual movie. I’ve always known since digital movies are on servers which aren’t my own, someone could delete them.
Predator followed by Robocop followed by Predator 2 would make sense if the collection is arranged chronologically by release date. It's a weird way to arrange movies and would make things extremely difficult to find if you don't have exact recall for release dates but I'm sure chronological arrangers do exist. *EDIT:* Ah, I shouldn't have paused a second before you acknowledged that they're probably arranged chronologically. I could almost see the logic for arranging movies chronologically if we're limiting it to pre-1980s movies but, once we're into the blockbuster franchise era, it just makes everything a mess (and, even before Star Wars, there were still some franchises like James Bond 007 and Planet of the Apes).
It's more of a music 6 something you don't get with with streaming are liner notes on an album, which is a great way of discovering more bands in my opinion you can see more bands that either toured together or the bands that influenced them at the time
I'll ALWAYS be a physical media guy because I like owning the movie aswell as the SPECIAL FEATURES, no buffering so overall the picture looks better, ALOT of stuff ISN'T on streaming that IS on bluray/dvd plus I have internet on my phone and tablet I don't need to have it on my television. The only streaming services I have are Amazon Prime (I only got that to get my blurays quicker through mail and I rarely watch anything on the streaming part of it) and Peacock and I only got that to have the WWE network. I really have no use for streaming. 🤷♂️📼🤷♂️📀🤷♂️📼🤷♂️📀🤷♂️📼🤷♂️
I Love your vinyl record collection videos you have.... I love music movies too .... I will collect physical media and music as long as I can I love it keep collecting DVDs , blu ray and 4k as long as you can... my opinion streaming does suck ....
Sorry but ive collected 5-600 switch games and in 10-20 years you won't have access to them except maybe Steam... Which is boring. Love hearing that click as the cartridge slides in

Physical Media is the best way to watch films so says Christopher Nolan.
So true.
I agree
Streaming versions can get EDITED and censored too. Like you said. THAT ALONE is a good reason to own a physical version.

Just imagine waiting a whole month just to watch Chicken Run Dawn Of The Nugget... due to infinite buffering. I will never get rid of my VHS or DVDs!

I love physical media! I still buy all of my movies on DVD, Blu Rays & 4ks
Same here! My mom just bought me a Blu ray of Doctor Who: Galaxy 4!
I digital download my media because I live in a small apartment with not that much room for any physical media. And I miss physical media, as well.
That's such a silly excuse. Do you live in a box?
After seeing all the censorship from corporations and removal of products that I have lost I will NEVER purchase a digital only file
It will never ever die

the carbon footprint trick he tried to pull got on my nerves
there's no way he doesn't know 70% of that shit comes from large corpos

Physical media chads rise up!
Jbhifi would like to have a word with this man that said its good thing for physical media to go away

Hail physical media
If you can't hold it then you don't own it...youre just borrowing when it's digital and attached to platform that can be taken from you at any time.

I already knew how you and other people in the comments section were going to feel about a video with a title like this.
I'm Never giving up my DVDs & Blu-rays screw streaming services I love to actually own my content.
