I was crossing into Tijuana from San Diego today. There was no line. It was about 11AM. I crossed back into San Diego at 5PM and I was already preparing myself for at least 2 hour queue. Surprisingly no queue at all. It took 5 minutes and I was back to USA. First time crossing to Tijuana and then back to San Diego. I'm from Australia Edit: I was walking btw. If you drive, be prepared for long queue

If you are conscious about the times it is crowded, you can cross in less than 30 minutes and you will start making the line right where it says “SENTRI” for the first time on this video, but most of the time without a line at all, in the mornings around 9 am.
I was waiting in this line for two hours. The only place worse is San Ysidro, which is a 3-4 hour line. When I was there though the line was not this bad.
Next Time go to San ysidro crossing. Go under overpass near the line. There's a bus station where you can buy tickets for ten dollars that skips all lines. Whole process takes like 45 mins.
God this brings a lot of memories back then around 2013 when me and my dad were dropping off my cousin in Tijuana at his grandma and me and bad wait the line it was a bit long in the morning but we waited I think 2 or 3 hours
Just like any airport securities they have scanner to check you and an x-ray scanner for any luggage or backpack you are carrying back. And they just ask you questions of where are you going and such
I go at least once a month never seen the line that long only for the people who go work in the us they take long because they have to check all their documents

You can cross with that. Dont let anyone tell you different CBP and even mexican Authorities try to scare you. Seriously i have a friend who has a photo copy of his ID abd he crosses with that.

Don’t even get me started on the bathroom situation- me and my family go by car and it takes HOURS- the border back into san diego- HELL
There's a bathroom at the border line. It's by the shops. Bring money for paper toilet tho .
Think about doing this daily with no sentri pass 😢 ... I eventually stopped crossing and stayed on the Mexican side. Investing in a sentri soon
