The range of the Twin Big Shoota was at 18 inch range for awhile but was later updated to 36 inch on the 40K App.

Unironically building this list rn. My headcannon is that the 2 stompa pilots are fighting and don't even notice the battle going on around them

Stompa was one of my 1st buys, and have yet to use him in a game.. gunna wait for 10th edition

I ran the stompa at waaaghcon because why not and he did so good! All my opponents tried to take him down! Especially drunkenorks grot list but it never went down and paid for itself with the mek! I fear it’s too expensive to be serious for competitive lists though because other armies can tKe it down easier
I did hear about that. Yes, i agree, he could struggle against other factions or lists tailored for anti tank.

I personally use 2-3 Kustom Boosta-Blastas in my list to give -1 to hits from any enemy units that threaten my Stompa. Kustom Boosta-Blastas aren't very good in my opinion but they can charge ahead and be just disruptive enough to give my Stompa some time and for that I think they are decent to use in lists with them.

I did fight against two Stompas, and they did quite a good job absorbing much of my shooting for the rest of my opponents army, even though I still managed to drag them both down in one turn.

I used the Stompa in a game yesterday vs Nids, they chewed through those 30 wounds in 2 turns. Cos he's got 1 major negative .. the keyword Towering. So he gets shot by everything.
Yeah he will be a bullet magnet for sure!

@@Lazare7782 2 Stompas, 2 Meks (of course), 20 boys, and the rest varies, im not good with meta stuff. Right now i have 10 gretchin and 3 Deffkoptas planned ( mostly because i have the Koptas)
The time has finally come! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! I love that he's such a high capacity transport too that can bring Ghazzie with as well! Too bad he takes so much space (but he'za beeg boi!) But the stompa still also has enough room for a coupla moar units with Ghazzie like a few nobs or something. You could put in 2 meganobs as a pair of very tough bodyguards, but that would fill up the stompa to full capacity.
Personally i'd like to have 20 boyz and warboss to be charging out of his belly!

800 pts is rough but man does he make mince of anything in his way if he gets a turn! Mek buffs that melee too!! During the Waaagh that becomes 7 2+ strength 25 damage 10 attacks. Oh and dont forget sustained hits!! In a perfect world he can one shot a manta!! Mork be praised! WaaAaaAAGGGH!!
Yeah he is a powerhouse for sure!
Combined with the mek boy and the workshop, he is nearly unstoppable. Fill him up with grots and drop them off on objectives he clears or use them as bait for heroic intervention

I got me a Stompa last week but ran outta glue putting together the last of my Boyz. I got more glue yesterday and I’m almost done putting him together~. I cannot wait for him to wreak havoc at my local game shop~ >:)

"There might be anti vehicle units that can make short work of him if they really focus on him". They don't even have to focus him. For half the points a shadowsword will annihilate this thing. It will be gone in 60 seconds. A D3+1, BS 4+ (can get +1 to hit from heavy), S 24, Ap -5, D 12. It can literally point 1 gun at a stomper and potentially take it out in 1 round. It also has 2 lascannons that can potentially hit on 3+ and wound on 5+ with AP -3, D D6+1 so if the stomper is left with 6 wounds, there is a small chance it can still take you out in the first round with it's lascannons. It then has other side weapons that can clean up some pretty tough units. Not stomper tough for sure but tough.
Not to always comment with negativity but there are things that dismantle the Stompa with absolute ease, if they're on the field, just making it to second battleround is the most you can hope for, getting to shoot with it twice is a miracle. Of course the Tao have something very similar.

I guess it just depends on what you're up against. Obviously if you are facing unita specifically designed to take this thing out, then you may have a hard time.
But that's true of most units.
Taking any big expensive unit is a gamble that doesn't always pay off

as good as it is now sadly I can't see it being played in 2000 point's its more 3000 at lest you can still put a army on or if you are playing a story campaign

Love the stats, but i really really really always hated the look of this miniature. Looks like a teepee on stilts. Thanks for the video none the less
I have to agree actually. Never really been sold on it. Does have some great bits though and with a lil work could look great.
Personally don't mind the look, i actually kinda like the scrap heap look of it, even if it looks like a big skirt. I do have some problems with it though.
For one the mega choppa and the arm attached to it is way to skinny and flimsy, not big an proppa like an ork arm.
Secondly, it should have bigger shoulder pads, like that forge world stompa. Thirdly the bog kannon and perhaps the super-gatler should be a bit larger in my opinion.
And fourthly, the model itself (whilst still huge) should be way bigger and taller.this is a problem across the whole ork range for me, them not being sized appreciately in comparison to the human models, a problem that i believe has yet to be fixed. Like, ork boyz are described to be as tall as an average man to 2 meters tall when in their hunched position, and yet, when you put an ork boy model and a guardsmen model next to each other the ork barely stands up to their chin. It gets even worse when you compare them to primaris marines. The stompa may be big, but it's nog big enough. When i put a stompa and a warhound class titan next to each other then i don't want the stompa to look short and pathetic, like my foot troops, i want it to tower over its foes, it's weapons, far larger than those of the enemy. They may have more reliable technology, they may be more disciplined, they may be faster and can hit more shots. But we are bigger, we are thougher, we are stronger, we have more guns, we have more fire power, and there are more of us. That's the way of the ork, and those are our advantages.
A primaris are like 2.5-3 meters so they would be much taller than the average ork
