Ladies, and men too, never think you can change or fix someone. Leave them before they end up ruining or taking your life. I feel so sorry for the kids and the pain and horror they experienced.

Agreed. A 35 year old woman should know that you can’t fix another person with your own external influence. When people are really broken they are broken on the inside so only they can really fix themselves. They could be supported in doing this but influence alone or sheer force of will cannot fix another person. And this guy is a lost cause for sure…

In my experience, more women than men think they can change a partner. It is not your responsibility to raise up a neglected or damaged human being. Think of yourself and your children if you have them and move on. You will always deserve better than a damaged person that needs fixing. It could save you a ton of grief, even your life.

Adrian, I went to school with a kid named Kit Darrant. At 16 he killed his mom and lived with her decomposing body for about a week and even hosted parties in their home after her murder. It’s possible he’s going to be released when he’s in his 40s which is sick to me. I have never seen a thorough account of this case and think you could bring the story more attention.

We don't know his _true_ motive - none was presented during his sentencing hearing (after he pleaded guilty) and the police never really established one. You don't need to prove motive for a conviction, however.
There is a theory - and it's only a theory - that he had been "doing stuff" with Lacey. Terri found out and confronted him. I have absolutely no idea if that's true.
Or alternatively it could just have been a coke binge, as this video describes. The only one who knows the whole truth is Bendall and that's not forthcoming from him.

Yep. I like Adrian’s channel, but surely all the victims cannot be all sparkly, shiny, and shooting glitter from their arse. All the young mothers are painted as angels. Sorry, but there are very few mothers like that out there as plenty have flaws such as their need for companionship superseding the need to keep their children safe from predators/abusers. Sure, they may love their children, but their responsibility to their children should come first; their maternal instinct should have kicked in to override their need to be in a relationship over the welfare of their children. And yes, the police have a responsibility, but based upon his past crimes he didn’t come across as violent person towards women and children. In situations like this, the responsibility still rests with the mother most as it’s her job to ensure her children’s safety, not to assuage her desperate need for companionship. And many of these women likely suspect or outright know the men are trouble but they think they can fix them. Or they overlook the flaws just so they can be in a relationship to the detriment of their children. Those children deserved better from their mother!

But with all the videos he has on his channel, some are just bound to be semi-lousy parents. The only reason we get flak for having viewpoints such as this is because people think we are victim blaming. Not at all! Nobody should go through this. There's just a big difference between reasoning on what you can and cannot work out (cause nobody on this earth is perfect, and that's a part of what love is.) and someone who has one too many red flags, yet you decide it'll work out... Somehow.
Hell, this channel is just a tiny piece of the iceberg. Go look at TV documentaries and whatnot. Same deal. All these murders, and not a single victim that's less than "angel" status. No wonder some love playing victims for life.

In November I was assaulted by a man who also has a wrap sheet of multiple assaults, check fraud and drug use. For the most recent of which, he spent mere weeks in prison and had gotten out only 3 days before attacking me. Im very much in this camp of "He never should be on the street again." I know he didnt kill me, but I think there is a point where we shouldn't ignore the pattern of behavior... people like this shouldn't have to kill someone before something is actually done. I whole heartedly believe my case would have been WAY worse if I didn't fight and *sprint* away. My attacker followed me for blocks and immediately got into a fight with others in front of a bar I ran by. People like Damien Bendall prove the point, unfortunately. Some folks will continue escalating until stopped. And its a huge failure on the systems part when they dont notice the patterns and escalating crimes and behavior. I thought the whole point was to keep monsters from doing more horrible shit..

Terry, by choosing this psychopath and letting him move in , put all the children at risk, as well as herself and her unborn baby. If she was a foster parent, she would have been shut down unless she kicked him out with the police to aid her. She ignored her family's warnings and paid the price with her own brutal, horrendous murder. No neighbourhood kids should have been allowed to stay overnight; the poor little friend , also killed. I don't think the psycho wanted a child. He chose to go to prison to be around his own likeness and Terry, his meal ticket was gone. Thoughts to the families, hurt forever.

What a tragedy. Being a good mother is much more than taking care of the daily needs of your children. It involves sacrificing your wants to what is best for them. A good mother will never bring a strange man into their home after such a short courtship. She knew he had problems and she never considered how those problems would impact her children.

Understand you're trying to be respectful of the victims, but ultimately after hearing the details it's clear that she's not the extraordinary mother you describer her as. A caring mother wouldn't put her children in such a situation knowing what she did, even if she loved him. Either it was her selfish love or her selfish desire to try to be a hero and "save" someone which allowed her to put her children in danger. She put these desires before her children.

The phrase I prefer is “expecting the worst, hoping for the best”. Idealism without grounding in realism is naivety, which is only acceptable in children. You can be optimistic and see the best in people, but ignoring red flags, putting yourself or others at risk, is not okay. Not taking the proper safety precautions is enabling the worst in someone who is struggling. (I say this as someone who is optimistic, idealistic, and sees the best in people naturally- I’ve learned the realism and practicality to be able to help others and protect myself.) The problem with seeing the worst is that it can lead to trust issues, anxiety, and paranoia. It’s all about balance.

Whenever kids are murdered, it hits particularly hard. And I believe, those who murder kids should themselves be put to a similar fate. I make no apology for saying that. The circumstances of Connie's death - merely a sleepover visit - is especially tragic, and it remind me of a rule I had in my home when my kids were young. They were never allowed to sleepover at anyone's house. The reality is, many times, the picture seen on the outside is entirely different on the inside of people's homes, and for that reason, I did not trust having my kids do sleepover. My kids are now grown adults with children of their own, and they adhere to the same principle in raising my grandchildren.

@danieljacot3083 No, but.. killing someone, let alone four you'd think they would bave difficulty expressing that. Maybe show some remorse? He said that with the same intonation, I would if I forgot to buy eggs. The lack of emotion is what's terrifying

@@Rue1993 As someone admittedly amateur, I think that suggests a psychopath. No empathy. No remorse. No feelings for anyone else but himself, and even that is impoverished. He reports his own physical injuries to the officer very matter of fact, but no reference to genuine feeling, emotion, distress. No concern for the officer and what the poor man is going to face inside that house. He has an arid desert in his brain and mind. A very dangerous man.

@user-nx5ws7rf2f Categorically, are all psychopaths capable of this level of violence? I know this is a rabbit hole question, but if you come across anyone diagnosed with psycopathy, I'm guessing you'd never know right?

Would love to see you cover the case of Ricardo Medina Jr., the actor from the Power Rangers franchise who ended up murdering his roommate with a Conan the Barbarian replica sword. It was an interesting case since at first it seemed like he'd get away with it being 'self-defense', but then they decided to turn around and charge him for manslaughter (there was confusion on what happened the night Medina's roommate broke into his bedroom during an argument). I've only seen small bits from the case, mostly while it was happening, and would love seeing it get a proper deep dive especially as Medina is out of prison now.

You said it was an oversight by his probation officer that he was allowed to live with Terry and her kids. However, I'm not sure what he says about where he lived. More importantly, it was negligent on Terry's part to allow him into her home around her children.
It's critical that parents be warned and held accountable for such things. The children don't get a say in the matter. In this case, they paid the ultimate price for their mother's decision. Absolutely gut wrenching for Terry, her children, and her daughter's friend.

I'm sorry, but I will not ever understand why these mothers bring someone into their children's lives without knowing them well. My heart breaks for the children who have no mother that truly protects them, and they have no escape as minors. This mother was selfish and only thought of herself and her need to have companionship with a man.

For the longest time i couldnt figure out why i LOVE to watch true crime content. I started by watching FBI Files, Forensic Files, and Unsolved Mysteries in the 90s and early 00's. Now close to 40, Ive realized my morbid fascination with this topic isnt so morbid after all. I watch these because it keeps the victims of the stories alive, in a way, but mainly it reminds me of how evil this world can truly be. Becareful of who you let in your life. Its, most of the time, the closest ones to you that hurt you the most. Stay Safe and dont forget to be judgemental of new people coming into your life. It may infact save your life one day.

It is nothing short of disgusting that this monster gets to live out the rest of his life with 3 meals a day and a roof over his head while the 4 people he murdered lay cold in the ground.

I always cringe when I hear, or have been told "Oh, he/She can change. All he/She needs is a chance." I have known fear for those who have said it to me, but fortunately have not lost anyone to such horrible circumstances. I have repeatedly reminded myself that they never seem to hear or see the truth. Unfortunately, there is no way to save someone from this kind of situation. I am grieved for the family and friends of these victims.

I really do feel as though these dating apps need to start requiring criminal background checks to use because it seems like that could help prevent a lot of things like this or for women signing up on these apps maybe have a warning that states"be careful and do your diligence and do a background check on potential partners".
