    Thank you for making this guide. I'm new to gw2 and I've been wanting to turn my druid into a support. This is the most helpful and REAL beginner guide out there. hope to see your channel grow a lot.

    Thank you for this! I recently tried getting back to raid healing, but we wiped several times on sloth simply because my heals weren't strong enough, even with full harrier and foods... Also a question, are the other two glyphs relevant for healer? (the tether and dps ones)

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  11 місяців тому +1

      I'll cover the other glyphs in the Intermediate Guide when I get around to updating it to the current state of druid (probably next week). Short answer is: no, they aren't relevant.

    Thank you for the guide Areki! The hardstuck links you have in the description show different traits to what you have in the video, are your version and the hs version used situationally?

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  6 місяців тому +1

      I assume you're asking about the grandmaster trait in Marksmanship, which doesn't really matter which one you take (more personal dmg vs more vuln application), and about the first trait in Druid, which I explain in the next video in the series (yes, it's situational).

    What about new players? Can I just use cheaper gear like exotic with easier to get runes?

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  9 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely. You can just run Exotic gear with Water runes, since you can buy those on the Trading Post instead of having to do dungeons.

      @@ArekiMirai I saw Harier eq on the Trading Post but no weapon. Any idea where can I get one?

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  9 місяців тому +1

      @@mystic865 I hear you can buy Exotic Harrier weapons through WvW if you play that gamemode (I personally don't). Alternatively, there's many cheap/easy options for getting ascended stat-selectable weapons: buy some for Wizard's Vault rewards, spend your Strike/Raid currency on some if you've been doing those...
      Worst case scenario you could buy Exotic Magi weapons on the TP, and hope that you have enough boon duration. If you end up at like ~80% or something, I'd add a Concentration Sigil instead of Paralyzation - especially if you're new, having more boon duration is better since it'll give you more leeway in your rotation, and I wouldn't drop Transference Sigil since it's a big healing modifier.
      The most important bit is that you hack a build together to get started. It can be scuffed at first, but once you have a build you can do your weekly clears on, fixing it to be more "proper" and gearing other builds should get easier. Trust me, soon you'll be swimming in ascended weapons from Raid drops, and Magnetite Shards accumulate really quickly, too. The hardest part is getting started. So good luck!

      @mystic865 9 місяців тому

      @@ArekiMirai thanks. The problem is I haven't played since Hot release and I don't have any currency for ascended gear. I'm at the beginning after getting to 80. I also heard that it's problematic for druid healing if you have exotic gear.

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  9 місяців тому +1

      @@mystic865 of course Exotics have less stats than Ascended gear, so you'll be missing out on not just Concentration, but also Healing Power. However, Healing Power doesn't matter as much as all your other modifiers (10% outgoing healing from Transference Sigil, 10% from Monk Relic, 10% from food, and the 16-ish% from Bountiful Maintenance Oil), so your healing shouldn't suffer that much. Furthermore, Druid has absolutely insane amounts of healing compared to other healers, so even if running Exotics does diminish your healing capabilities, it should still be more than enough. If you have any more questions, I strongly recommend joining my Discord server.

    Opinion of Heal Tempest?

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  11 місяців тому +2

      Tempest just doesn't heal enough and doesn't bring as much to the table to warrant playing it over druid. I guess its healing output is fine in double heal scenarios, but the kinda stuff you can do on druid (soloheal tank QtP while CCing anomalies, soloheal VG, soloheal SH while pushing) - forget about even attempting it on tempest. Furthermore, druid has access to such insane CC on very low cooldown (you can easily do 1.5-2k breakbar damage on every Samarog breakbar) while tempest really struggles to get any out and it's often long cooldowns and long cast times. Druid shines so much due to being able to handle various mechanics like immobilizing/pushing Seekers on VG, pushing on SH, ranged CC for anomalies on QtP, ranged healing for pylon kiters on QtP - tempest can't really do any of that.
      TL;DR: feel free to play tempest in a double heal scenario where other supports handle mechanics and CC, I personally also think that tempest is really fun to play. But if you want to truly shine as a support player, druid should be your go-to class.

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai  11 місяців тому +3

      As a side note, I'm still salty about how they implemented alac on tempest - it competes with the strongest healing trait that tempest has. The "auramancer" heal tempest had such insanely good synergy between all its traits and it felt really, really fun to play back in the days when healers didn't do alacrity or quickness. It had the advantage over druid that it did insanely good 10-man protection, and it had 10-man Rebound. But now everything is 5-man, and being forced into the alacrity trait over the healing trait makes tempest heal so little... They really should've put alacrity on auras instead of overloads, it would've synergized so well with an already amazing build that just felt right.

      So what you're saying is that druid is exceptionally good in very niche situations and that's about it. Druid struggles with fights like boneskinner and fractals, whereas heal tempest does not. Tempest is an extremely well-rounded healer that can handle almost any content with relative ease. Is it going to solo heal hard encounters? Likely not, but in most content that people actually play it can perform very well.
