I do this every year for Coachella. My cousin and I drive down to Coachella from LA with no tickets. We ALWAYS end up with VIP tickets for the same price as GA. Sometimes a little Higher than that but nonetheless way cheaper.
That’s the best way to do it honestly! Sounds like an amazing time too! Never been to Coachella before personally, not a huge music guy haha. All about that savings and experience!
I‘m gonna try this on Friday!! My cousin and I are planning to go to the Harry Style‘s concert and we have no tickets but still gonna try. Gonna be there in the morning and just wait & try to get tickets!!! Hope this work 🥰
I buy all my tickets the old fashioned way, show up at the stadium and have scalpers come to me. I once paid $100 for a pair of tickets, 4 rows behind the visiting teams bench, face value at $325 each, to see Lebron play in Dallas while he was a Cavs the first time. Bought the tickets right before the end of the 1st qtr.
Love to hear stories like that!! It’s all about how much work and effort you’re willing to put into it and also the level of patience and negotiating skills too. Always a good deal to be found if you look hard enough 😁
trying to get tickets for The Weeknd’s show in Dallas on August 14. Do you think prices will be spiked or dropped 24-48 hours before? Also if they are selling box office tickets, would you recommend lining up early if they do end up selling? Thanks, great video and information!
I would say start looking on Ticketmaster about 2-3 days before the show, as many of his dates are releasing a lot of production holds at decent prices both on the floor as well as lower bowl seating. So I would start there for sure. Otherwise, prices probably won’t change too much is my thinking for the tour overall, May see prices drop a little bit it depends entirely on how much inventory is left. It doesn’t look like there is a ton left as it is right now, so I think it’s better to try and lock up seats before the day of show
@@thumbsuprun I got a question man and would be glad if you could help me out . I’m not worried much about the cost of the tickets but more like do you think more seats would go live the days before leading or the day of the concert ? Cause I want to wait it out and even do something risky like go to stadium before the event and hopefully people are reselling their tickets at the front in case seats don’t go live close to the concert . what you think about that ? and same stadium too . Dallas, Texas .
In general ticket releases from the venue will occur a couple days before. Some will do same day of show but the majority will be a few days before just because they can finalize their production setup and put out any final ticket holds to the public to get them sold. There’s always going to be resellers at the stadium as well, their prices should be pretty similar to online but May have some variation +/- depending on their inventory. It’s definitely an experience buying in person, but would still continue to compare prices online incase you do find any good last minute drops
I'm trying to go to a concert and just purchase tickets at the box office the day of the concert so they can be discounted. The show starts at 7:30 PM and the box office opens at 10AM. Would you suggest going to the box office right when it opens at 10 AM the day of the show or a few hours before the show starts??
I’d recommend calling the box office to confirm what time they will be open and then go at that point. They may also be able to confirm what time they will have the last minute releases available to purchase from the box office too
Does the box office sell tickets that were available in ticketmaster? I am trying to go see harry styles and the tickets are sold out on ticketmaster and I wanted to go to the box office the day of to see if I can get some tickets but should I do that or just wait and buy on a website? What do you recommend? Do box office still sell tickets even though it says sold out online?
The box office will sell tickets but generally only on the day of the show. For the most part the box office will have the same inventory as what is available online, however, in the last 2-3 days before an event takes place, a lot of tickets end up being released back from holds related to artist/promoter holds, as well as any sponsorship tickets that aren’t claimed. If you head to the box office on the day of the show you would have better luck trying to find some potential last minute tickets for face value if you don’t see anything online
It depends on the artist and city, I have seen it work both ways for small events. I’ve seen some that go to $6 and others that remain quite high or even rise just because there isn’t much inventory left
I'm gonna attempt to do this for this weekend's Clemson vs Georgia game in Charlotte. The problem is the game is on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend and it's a huge game. I'm praying that tickets are affordable enough in the 12-4 hour window so I don't sweat it a few hours before kickoff
Best of luck! Definitely wanna hear how it turns out. I think you’ll end up scoring something great on the day of, just be sure to take a look at all the different resale sites as you’ll see a bit different inventory across them all. Have a section and price in mind and buy buy buy once it hits! Such a fun time waiting for the best deal (also stressful 🤣)
@@thumbsuprun for sure! I'll keep you updated. So far TickPick appears to have the best prices but not in the price range I'm looking for yet. Agreed on the stressful part! Prices were looking great yesterday morning before they shot back up
@@thumbsuprun Unfortunately it didn't workout for me :/ Prices started going waaaay up the closer it got to kickoff. I'm kicking myself for not buying 4 days prior when they were super affordable
At this point I’d wait at least a day, check if prices are moving up or down between today and tomorrow. If they are moving down, then I would wait some more, if they are moving the other way though then would probably purchase the seats at that point
For concerts they sometimes have that initial buying period. Does waiting until the last minute always save you money in comparison to buying them as soon as released?
It depends on the popularity of the artist and event. Waiting for the last minute will sometimes allow you to buy tickets from the box office at face value if they release some then, or the secondary market could see prices dip close to event time. However, situations like with BTS you won’t see any savings close to the concert date. On average you’ll normally see prices come down but it isn’t guaranteed
I would wait last minute for him (24-48 hours before) because he has added multiple shows in many major markets so there should be a good amount of inventory remaining close to the event dates.
Hard to say on that one - I’ve seen prices slowly climb over time so I think it just depends on which venue/date you’re looking at. In general you may be able to find something last minute but sometimes it’s just too hot haha
Absolutely! It will work the same way. Wait until the last 72 hours before an event and watch prices fall (normally). Delivery methods will be displayed on resale websites. Most will be eticket, mobile transfer or mobile QR but it’ll show you before your purchase. As long as you’re willing to wait and see, it can be a great way to get into a concert for cheap!
Hello, idk if this is too late but I am going to the mlb home run derby in 7 days, will it work for a super expensive and high demand game like this or only for normal games
Ahh just saw this now. I think it would have been possible, though I wouldn’t have waited to the last possible second to get them haha. Did you end up finding tickets/getting in?!
yes we got tickets around 4 days before, but we should have waited, the morning of the home run derby tickets dropped like 50%, oh well, at least we know for next time to wait untill the day of the actual event.
@@thumbsuprun so my event that I’m trying to go to is tomorrow. Should I just check all 3 sites throughout the day, or is there typically 1 that is the best?
You generally need to check through a couple as there will always be some inventory that is listed only on one platform. Check with Stubhub, Gametime and tickpick as a baseline
It honestly depends on each event, you can sometimes find deals that meet your criteria very fast and other times as late as 30 mins before. If there’s lots of inventory it makes it easier, if limited then tougher
Sometimes you have to be at the right place at the right time. I remember begging for the Tickets to first Ravens home game in history, I got scalped prices. I was watching their last preseason game in 1996 when the Play by Play announcer said more tickets were made available for the first game on September 1. Call Ticketmaster now! I did and got one in the open end zone for around $30.. Picked it up at Will Call Saw the return of the NFL in Baltimore. Did this for the Sunday Washington Mystics game against Seattle which was sold out as it was Sue Birds last appearance. Looked at Ticketmaster and they released some singles in the lower bowl and Immediately bought one for $28 last row on the baseline for the game that afternoon.
Absolutely need to get lucky sometimes, but a lot of that sounds like putting yourself in position to catch some last minute drops too!! Both amazing catches by you over there, gotta love it when it all works out 🎉🎉
So I’m buying 3 tickets for a Charlotte Hornets vs Boston Celtics game and I don’t know when to buy them. The game is March 9th so, buying the week before would be good?
If you can, you could even wait until 48-72 hours before the event. You see price changes the most dramatic during the last couple of days before the event itself, but there’s also a level of comfort knowing your tickets are confirmed. Definitely wait until at least 7 days before, but then have a price target in mind at the price you’re happy with, I would just pull the trigger at that point. Stress isn’t fun for anyone! 🤞🏽 good luck!
😂 I want to go to todays game, Hornets vs Nets (March 8th). It’s my first ever NBA game so I might wait last few hours. Did you end up buying yours? Any deals? Edit: my budget is $150. I’m going alone.
Good luck!! I think you should be fine with that budget. There’s already some options on the baselines and corners in your budget range. Harder to say about sidelines as it just depends on inventory. Don’t see a lot of singles left in centre court right now so wouldn’t expect that to change too much as we near the game start
Good luck! I did it about a week before they shut everything down again in December, was able to get lower bowl seats around $40 vs the Magic. Totally worth the wait
Hi yet again, yet another of your helpful videos! Does this video not apply to BTS? (I always hear how hard it is to get tickets, do you think even with bts there will be last minute tickets? Do you suggest checking at the stadium box office or is online sufficient?
So in general this can work for most standard events. With that being said, it could also work for BTS but it really depends on supply as demand. If you get to the event date and there’s still massive demand, tickets will keep getting snapped up once they get to a certain price point that buyers are waiting on it reaching. As a result, inventory could dry up very fast as you approach the event date. It’s also possible that because so many tickets were purchased by resellers that they will try to just get rid of any remaining inventory they have around the event date that it could bring down the pricing for the event. Again though, there isn’t a good way to predict when buying last minute will or won’t work. As you get to the event date or close to it, check Ticketmaster for last minute ticket releases, and keep monitoring ticket prices and inventory levels on secondary markets too. Should also look on BTS fan groups on Facebook or discord to see if you can get tickets that way too. Good luck!
@@thumbsuprun thanks so much for replying. Def shopping on Twitter, Reddit and Facebook but the scammers are immense. Rumor has it that sofi season ticket holders bought all the tix and are inflating the prices. ARMY is collectively encouraging all to not buy. We hope this decreases the demand so prices will fall, but the desperation of fans is real. I have a flight, place to stay, but no tickets. Wondering if I should just wait until 72 hours before or try to box office. Based on your reply. I should try it all.
prices are quite high right now so would try to wait about 24 hours before the event if possible. Watch how prices move for the shows this and next weekend move on secondary markets all the way up to the start of the show to see how prices move to give you an idea on what may happen with your show on sept 30. Also be sure to keep checking back on ticketmaster in case they release any final production holds which could be much cheaper than resale prices
Generally not as much. I’d say the series matters way more. If a home team is down, then prices will normally fall. If they are up though/close out game, expect prices to increase as you approach game day. In general you may see prices fall over time, but the majority of movement is priced in based on the series
Hey awesome video! I am thinking about trying to do this for the Coldplay concert in Atlanta this weekend. What do you think about this in a post (for the most part) COVID world? Is this still tangible?
Simple answer is yes this is still a possibility in the post COVID world, your biggest issue is always going to be available inventory as you near the event start time. If events are instant download, then tickets will stay up longer and give you a better shot at getting a great deal. For mobile transfer events, it’s a lot harder since many listings will come down about 1-2 hours before the event takes place. It helps if you’re local of course just in case a great deal drops last minute, but just make sure you have a budget price in mind and pull the trigger when it shows up. Otherwise it’s easy to get lulled into waiting too long and missing your shot! Let me know how it goes!!
Im planning to drive to the venue of the "tomorrow x together" kpop concert , with no tickets happening july 17th in sugarland at the smart financial centre, do you think this will work out for me ? Thanks again !
I think you will be able to find tickets, but I wouldn’t want to wait until the absolutely last second for this event. Within the 2-4 days out of event date window I would look to find the tickets you’d like and have a price point in mind. There may be some very late last minute tickets that drop in value but it’ll be hard to predict if and/or when that could happen since many others may also be trying to do the same thing
Hello! I'm trying to get tickets to a kpop concert that's quite popular and I'm set on floor seats (which i couldn't get due to scalpers). Right now most available are reselling for 1k-3k on ticketmaster and the show happens in the last days of this month; how likey do you think prices will drop by the week of? Would the box office even be reliable method here? Do you have any other tips? (great video btw)
It depends on the specific artist, event date, venue location, and ticket supply. You can try to wait closer to the event date and see if the box office releases any last minute seats, or you can even try to contact the box office directly to see if they know if/when additional seats may come available. They could potentially be aware of some VIP holdbacks (but not guaranteed). Otherwise, as long as there is a large enough supply of tickets still available as you approach the event date on the floor, it’s possible to see prices come down over time. It’s hard to say on every single event how it will play out, but it is generally typical for prices to come down as you approach the event date. What event is it you’re looking to get tickets to? I can do a little search for you and see if I can find anything that meets your budget and location!
@@thumbsuprun Omg thank you so much for answering! I called before but I guess I didn’t know the right way to phrase my questions so I was brushed off (I’m new to buying tickets in general). a friend and I are trying to go to a taylor swift concert in may (metlife stadium) but her tickets are really high in demand. would waiting until the week of give us much cheaper tickets? any other advice u have helps too!
I think you should be patient right now, and let’s see how prices move as we approach the show dates. There may be a reconfiguration of the stage to allow more seats to be released in the rear corners so just keep checking on TM to see! It’s very hard to say as of right now whether prices will come down the week of the event or not as there just isn’t a lot of inventory available currently

Yeah I’m actually heading to New Jersey this Saturday finally to see a hockey game for almost a year☹️☹️☹️ I paid a little too much but I do usually wait last minute and the tickets drop. For this event their only letting 2000 people on so that’s why I kinda got them expensive and early
Ah I don’t blame you, it’s been too long! I haven’t been to a hockey game in a year+ as well, probably won’t get back into an arena until 2021 fall at the earliest...hope the game is amazing!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽
It’s exactly a week before the concert I would like to go to is set to start would you recommend me calling the box office now or waiting the concert is July 1 at the united center in Chicago for straykids my goal is two floor seats budget is 300 each ticket so I’m hoping there’s a chance I can get tickets last minute I’m just not sure if to wait to call or wait the day of and see if the box office is selling tickets
You should try to contact the box office now to see if they have any additional ticket releases that they know of, otherwise you may need to keep checking Ticketmaster or other resale sites to see what options may come available in your price point. Will be a stressful few days but hopefully the tickets come up in your budget and location!!
Hm interesting. Did you buy from Ticketmaster or elsewhere? If Ticketmaster, just log into your account and check under your orders to see if the tickets are loaded there. Where did you purchase from?
Log into your account on Gametime and see if the tickets are there. Otherwise, you may want to contact support and ask them to see where your order is/when your tickets should be arriving. Do you see the charge on your credit card?
I’m wondering the best approach for the chili peppers concert coming up in Chicago. I’ve done last minute before but with some coveted concerts it seems like there’s a sweet spot wait until like the day before or couple days before but not too late? Anyone with more input Lmk!
RHCP prices have been staying pretty strong, so waiting last minute may not be the best option. I would use the MetLife show on august 17 as a proxy. Watch what happens over the next 2 days to see how prices move and use that to guide your purchase decision for Chicago. Also be sure to keep checking back on Ticketmaster for production hold drops
Do you have a video or commentary on best times to sell tickets? I just bought NBA season tickets and am debating when to start posting them everywhere
Generally I like to list tickets immediately, however, the big question is how much to price them at. Listing tickets right away doesn’t mean you need to price them to sell, you can always keep a high price and adjust downward. I’d get the posted now, price the weekday and non marquee matchups at a competitive price, and then slowly decide on the big matchups. I personally like to get rid of inventory by about a week before if I can unless I feel the event is extremely popular and will continue to rise as you approach the date
this is what ill need to do for MCR tickets ;((( maybe sell an arm and leg for those nosebleed seats... please do a video about Ticketmaster's stupid "dynamic pricing" system!
Gametime is very legitimate - I’ve both bought and sold with them for several years now. They work a little different than other sites in that they only display a curated set of tickets instead of everything and anything. However, delivery and authenticity still follows the same way as Stubhub and other large resale sites. Would recommend using them 😁

Thanks, I will try this for the Raptors game as soon they allow audiences to watch inside the arena. I hope the pandemic will soon be over.
I would really love to know the answer to this too!
Good luck!
@@thumbsuprun thanks so much 🌞
@@thumbsuprun thanks so much for replying.
What's the best time to try and buy tickets to Luke combs on Sept 30th in Albany ny?
prices are quite high right now so would try to wait about 24 hours before the event if possible. Watch how prices move for the shows this and next weekend move on secondary markets all the way up to the start of the show to see how prices move to give you an idea on what may happen with your show on sept 30. Also be sure to keep checking back on ticketmaster in case they release any final production holds which could be much cheaper than resale prices
just curious if this all applies to nba playoff games
@@thumbsuprun thanks so much for the help! I will definitely follow up with how it goes thanks so much!
I’m hoping some miracle will happen and I’ll find myself in the first row or something lol 😭. The show is for Stray Kids at the Prudential Center on the 28th!
@@faaizah8852 How did it go?!
a friend and I are trying to go to a taylor swift concert in may (metlife stadium) but her tickets are really high in demand. would waiting until the week of give us much cheaper tickets? any other advice u have helps too!
@@thumbsuprun thank u so much for responding your advice definitely helps! When it gets much closer to the date i’ll probably reply to this comment again asking for help if that’s ok😅
So I was told that I was supposed to get an email and I was wondering how long do people usually wait for there confirmation email?
Confirmation email for purchasing tickets? It’s normally instant for the most part
@@thumbsuprun because I got my tickets online on Tuesday and we have never gotten our email
@@thumbsuprun yeah but I was just told that it should be arriving tomorrow
@@thumbsuprun thanks! You’ve got a new subscriber in me… been watching several videos. Keep up the great work!
Appreciate it! Reach out if you ever have more questions 😁
Im tryna go to the hawks celtics tonight :)

this is what ill need to do for MCR tickets ;((( maybe sell an arm and leg for those nosebleed seats... please do a video about Ticketmaster's stupid "dynamic pricing" system!
It’s like you read my mind, stay tuned for tomorrow night... 👀
Help! I want to get Bad Bunny tickets for Dallas!
Keep an eye to see if they release any last minute production hold seats on Ticketmaster and keep looking out for deals!
Omg loved this video!! Especially when you're in the car at the end 😂😂 also love the improvements in film quality and sound!
Woohoo! Only getting better
Why not just go to the box office to buy the tickets? You were right there.

is gametime tickets legit? hope no one is bias and actually tried buying ticket from their site. im scared to get scammed
Gametime is very legitimate - I’ve both bought and sold with them for several years now. They work a little different than other sites in that they only display a curated set of tickets instead of everything and anything. However, delivery and authenticity still follows the same way as Stubhub and other large resale sites. Would recommend using them 😁
