      @@themopar426 It took a fair bit of dedication, and a diverse diet of music from Jaco Pastorius and Django Reinhardt to Motörhead and AC/DC. (Don't knock that last one either; they may have only made one album 18 times, but they have the tightest most disciplined rhythm section in the industry.)
      But there's nothing like starting off with Thunderfingers to light that flame in your heart and put stars in your eyes for the possibilities of the Bass Guitar.

    this DVD was shot at Wright State University, Dayton,Ohio. Audience shots were edited in from other shows. Gary Glitter was there but he was cut out and replaced by PJ Proby. Glitter was shitcanned halfway thru the tour because he kept fucking up. After his legal troubles I think THE WHO wanted to distance themselves from him as far as they could. Anyway, this was the first show in the states, Monday, Nov. 4 1996. I was there!

    Zac Starkey does a more than competent job of drumming for the band, but where do you find a replacement for the "Ox", be great if someone could then we might have a chance of seeing and hearing the Who perform live again in a way that they should.
    That is if Rogers voice can hold out......he is brilliant on this one by the way!

    • @jrb5353
      @jrb5353 6 місяців тому

      The thing you have to remember about Zac is; he was Keith Moons Godson......I met Zac and his dad about 4 years before this was shot during the Allstar Band Tour that Zac (19 at the time) played drums on stage right and did an amazing job. He is not Keith.......but he is his Godson.....so there is some nice Karma there. He and his father were both wonderful human beings.

    @CentraCross Internet high-five, sir. I really think the people who take the time to slam Ringo should instead spend that time really listening to some of his better tracks. He didn't suck, he just didn't deviate form the classic backbeat much - he was a transition to today's drumming, in a way. Listen to Tomorrow Never Knows or Rain; hell Magical Mystery Tour as a whole is Ringo's peak.
    But this isn't about Ringo, is it? It's about his son and the AMAZING BAND he drums for! THE WHO FOREVER!

Perfoming Quadrophenia with running commentary is also well tacky!! To enjoy Quadrophenia you have to listen to the original Vinyl recording, not the Cd, which has been ruined with a re-mix!!
