- Gallstones(Cholelithiasis), though small, can be life-threatening as they can cause gallbladder cancer. The video explains why they occur, the signs and symptoms, treatment options, and prevention.
Similar to kidney stones, gallbladder stones or #gallstones are small, pebble-like deposits in the organ. They are composed of cholesterol, bilirubin, and minerals. They generally occur due to an imabalance in the composition of bile.
Unremoved gallstones can cause jaundice, cholangitis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, and #gallbladder cancer. It is, therefore, essential to undergo treatment. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is a non-invasive procedure that can break down gallstones.
Surgical options available are open cholecystectomy and laparoscopic cholecystectomy. In both cases, gallbladder removal surgery is performed. Laprascopic cholecystectomy is a minimally invasive surgery in which the gallbladder is removed through a keyhole surgery.
The removal of the gallbladder does not cause any problem as it is inessential for digestion. However, it is best to consult your doctor if you experience any changes in your bowel habits after the surgery.

Today I came to know by ultrascan that I have 9mm stone in gallbladder the doctor told no isues ,until get symptoms like sudden weight gain,fever,vomitting ,pain.
