I believe that this should be a 4-core cable per Dunu’s website, it also seems somewhat similar to the stock cable of the new Dunu Titan S2. Otherwise, great review! I very much love the comparison between different modular plug solutions between different brands.
You very well could be right, what I found on the website was not 100% clear to me on this. I was very tempted to try to remove part of the nylon mesh to see what it looks like underneath, but chickened out because I didn’t want to mess up the cable.
Edited this comment because apparently Linsoul made a mistake. Upon further investigations, the specs I previously posted are actually similar to the ones of a DDHifi BC150B cable, so possibly they were there as placeholder. Back to square one it seems...
Agreed on this review. Really good cable for $30, the new Q-lock is better than their higher end Q-lock, and the microphonics are real but not a big bother for me. The protruded 2-pin is great for some IEMs but does make the connectors quite tall on IEMs without recessed connectors. If this had Moondrop/Truthear style small plastic 2-pin housings it’d be end game.
I just bought this cable and its fantastic! it looks and feel like a speaker cable. IMO the microphonics is a nitpick & totally overshadowed by the aesthetics and the Furukawa OCC copper inside.
you can remove the stupid nylon this is exactly the same cable like on the DaVinci only with this nylon you will still have microphonics cause it's a stiff 4 core cable with thick wires but not as bad as with the nylon wrap
The stock modular cable that came with the Raptgo Hook-x is fabric. They somehow managed to make it so soft and frictionless that microphonics aren’t an issue. This Dunu cable is cooler though, as Hook-x’s gamer green cable is a bit much sometimes.
Thank you very much for the detailed review!, how stiffer or softer is the Lyre Mini compared to the Chimera?, it looks like it's way softer, but want to be sure before purchasing it.
I wouldn’t say the Lyre is softer, it’s got a completely different material on the outer wrap making it hard to compare. I like the way it feels personally, but the Chimera is probably technically softer, if that makes sense.
do you believe that there's a possility that they'll release the 2.5mm jack, 3.5mm pro balanced jack, type c and lightning jacks with this new version of the q-lock system? i have recently purchased a lyre mini myself and mostly listen from my desk amps and qudelix5k, a 2.5mm jack option would have me carting this around to use with the 5k easily. Great channel by the way man, really enjoying what you're doing
Hey awesome channel. No bs about sound. You just stick to what's important. Feel and fit. Very useful I was just looking at this cable too. Thanks for the info.
Hey man thanks for the review. I bought one and it is absolutely worth the $30. Just a quick question is it really a Furukawa wire? I don't see that info in their website
I can do that. Just curious, what is your experience when the cable is too heavy? Does your IEM become dislodged, is it uncomfortable? Heavy cables don’t bother me much, just trying to get an idea of what kind of issues a heavy cable causes for you or anyone else, so I can understand what the problems are.
@@IEMCableReviews if it's too heavy it pulls down on the top of my ears too much even at a desk. I need to tuck the y splitter in the collar of my t-shirt so the top of the cable is 'floating'. I also bob my head a lot and the worst is when going left and right cause then all the weight is just on one ear for a short time. Does it make sense? 😅
it's a 4 Core cable it's clearly visible this is actually the same cable they use for the DaVinci but with this stupid nylon on top of the cable btw the DaVinci 4 Core cable has lots of microphonics cause it's 4 Core and a litte stiff but with this nylon on top the microphonics are just insane it will be better to remove it

Wooo Mark is here!
I was looking at the cable on Amazon and was blown away when I found such a detailed review about it. Good on you mate, awesome work.
Just found your channel today (9/23/2024). I love your reviews. Extremely helpful! Great voice; reviews are not too long. I have subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!!!

I hope so although I have no indication that they are planning to.

Thanks, that’s exactly what this channel is all about!
Do you know if the MMCX cable would fit IE200 or IE600?
I don’t use mmcx iem’s. Hopefully someone else can answer.
The MMCX connector is a standard size, so, yes, it will fit.
between this and tripowin amber? which one is better
If you need 2.5mm or hate microphonics, the Amber. Otherwise the Lyre Mini is better.

I saw it listed as Furukawa here: www.dunu-topsound.com/product-page/lyre-mini the first line under product highlights.
Is it heavy on your ears? Like it is more for a desktop use than it is for going around?
No it is not heavy feeling, feels normal if that makes sense.
@@IEMCableReviewsI see. Thanks. I might buy this since I like fabric cables.
You should include weight. I personallycan only use light ones that don't pull down on my ears.
You’re right. I’ll start weighing every cable and maybe make a comparison chart to show in each review. Great suggestion, thanks!
@@IEMCableReviews It would be good to say if the Y splitter ir heavy or not. Some of them feel like led you'd use for fishing 🤣

Great content, too bad I found your channel after Mr. MRS 😁
That's a shame about the microphonics. Was hoping it was the other way around and that nylon cover would help but i guess not. Thanks
just paid 16 dlls for one
Nice deal!

It's a good (and nice)cable at a relatively good price from a well-known brand in the audio world. It's a shame there isn't a slightly longer option.
I wish all cables were slightly longer.
