A friend that played bass called this the greatest band. It took me years to understand where he was coming from. Isn Thornley is a great singer guitar player and song writer. The whole band is talented.
Good gracious, I wish they would tour the US, specifically Florida lol. If I come into some extra 'chump change,' I'll go to Canada to see them, dammit.
Hey man, unfortunately Canadian bands don’t get much airplay outside the country. I loved them the minute I saw The Oaf video on MuchMusic back in ‘97. Made the pain from Soundgarden’s breakup a little easier to bear.
@@jamesleblanc7437 I've loved them since the Oaf too. This band and I Mother Earth were such huge parts of my life, starting in the 90s (and I live in Western NY).
why this band isnt playing 50, 000 seat stadiums just goes to show how messed up this planet is. What a gem this band is. going to see them at the Rose Theatre at an affordable ticket price. long live rock n roll.
People actually giving a shit about real music. Shouldn't be underrated anymore. Some folk wouldn't know a good tune even if it hit them like a locomotive.

Every time these guys come back better with bigger songs every new album! Incredible. I Fucking love that electric 12 string Ian is playing! Beautiful Peice of equipment!

I think it has a lot to do with the current state of popular mainstream music, which rock no longer plays a major roll in. I saw them on the second leg of the current tour at Gramercy Theater in NYC. While it was great, their talent should be able to fill a venue like Radio City Music Hall which seats about 6000, or Jones Beach Ampitheater on Long Island, which seats about 15,000.
One of the best rock songs of the decade, it really slams with its urgency in those riffs. I hope radio plays this. An all time career-high for this band in my opinion
I owe Rick Beato big time for talking about Ian in one of his UA-cam videos, that lead me to discover Big Wreck, one of my now favourite bands ever. Like Shihad here in NZ, BW definitely deserve to be way bigger than they are.
This is easily as good as 90% of the best hits in the '90s. It might seem like I'm being overly nuanced, I'm just trying not to overstate it. In any general way a song is creative and good, this is extremely creative and very good. Am I being nuanced enough? I love this song, it's awesome.
@@locky828 Unfortunately I can't. Probably the whole show, but I guess it got pulled. There are individual songs from that show that are still up and available.
Saw the Denver show. A total blast. The tunes have all kinds of musical open secrets. Really great experience for those who like heavier meat, especially in this decaying decade of sugary, autotuned nursery rhymes. More major minor shenanigans and well placed money notes please. Be sharp boys...and C ya next time...'round midnight.
So so glad that I was a part of this show! Such an amazing band. So good live or on the albums. I really hope they come close again soon! BigWreck4Life
Found this a very personally evocative performance! Just in your style. Caught up with the Big Wreck... continuing education courses a few years ago not knowing the guys were still at the drawing board. To my Overwhelming surprise Ian Thornley doesn't stop recording. Been an amazing time the last two years. perfect FOR my son and I
Hope they release this as a dvd. My buddy and I were at this show. Stood right in front of Ian. It would be nice to have especially because you can see us in the crowd.

Easily the most underrated band in the world. Easily. Ian is a force of nature as a frontman.
Don't forget Ween as "the most underrated" if those two bands toured together...😁
Couldn't of said it better my self.
When you have chris Cornells voice you can do anything
I just saw them this weekend in my hometown for the first time and I was BLOWN WIDE OPEN
He has a strong voice I will say that
A friend that played bass called this the greatest band. It took me years to understand where he was coming from. Isn Thornley is a great singer guitar player and song writer. The whole band is talented.
Big Wreck just has the best riffs. So many great hooks. Effing hell, what an absolute banger.
that 12 string sound... whew!
Holy shit this might be the best band in the world !!!
It has been said many times already, but this band (and Ian in particular) is painfully underrated!
Good gracious, I wish they would tour the US, specifically Florida lol. If I come into some extra 'chump change,' I'll go to Canada to see them, dammit.
I’m really late to the “Big Wreck” party...........better late than never.........I love this band.

kitoyobeni1 nice! Did you get MuchMusic down there, or was it radio? My buddy from high school has played with IME on tour, playing keyboards.
@@jamesleblanc7437 I believe my first experience with both was via MTV
kitoyobeni1 cool. I guess the 90s were a different time, starving for anything “alternative rock” on mainstream tv
They need to be the biggest band in the world for real. Every album is killer!
100%

@@nefariousnimbus I am from India ... and I dont know how the fuck I came to listen to this band but I am so glad I did !
Ian just nonchalantly carrying on a conversation in the beginning while cleanly playing a 12-string electric like he was born with it in his hands.

Only they could do amazingly transition that intro into a song like locomotive and make it sound amazing.

this band should be playing to bigger crowds. it's beneath their talent honestly to be playing bars. they belong in ampitheatres.
Ian has said many times they are happy just as they are he said that they like the atmosphere of playing smaller venues
I know what you mean, Thornley is super super talented, but they aren't promoted in the states at all, they get gigs where they can.
