I love FRENZY by Stern. The sprites, the sounds, the physics... everything is a great balance. Thanks for this challenging gameplay demo of the arcade version. I used to play this at my local K-Mart and eventually got the cartridge for ColecoVision and I always thought that the CV version was great. This game is eternal. There is room for expansion. I would change nothing asthetically except for maybe different modes, bonus packages to collect, and maybe more rooms that can even scroll a little bit like Gauntlet or something. I would make 99 levels and the final level 100 would unlock only if you got the bonus on all prior levels and killed Otto atleast once per. I would put easter eggs everywhere. FRENZY Expanded could one day be awesome.
I like the idea of adding an abilty to 'dive' or 'duck' maybe once every 5 seconds .. Not over powered, but enough to give you a chance to dodge in very tight situations. Sometimes when you spawn in and have bad luck it's almost impossible to survive. :)
THANKS FOR POSTING This game is number 5 in my top 5, and to say that I was very disappointed when this more interesting and more complex sequel to Berzerk didn't take off would be an understatement in the arcades. On other sequels which weren't gangbusters such as Asteroids Deluxe and Space Invaders Deluxe (that being by #2 game), I understood the main reason: People who were good got spoiled they couldn't play forever on a quarter. That wasn't the case with this. You could earn and rack up plenty of extra lives. You got to shoot Crazy Otto. The robots were a bit smarter. There was enough variation as to not take away everything from the original. EDIT: You did a fantastic job playing here, shooting out segments of the maze to get to the next level, and especially picking off Otto - something which is a favorite of mine.
Played this on a Coleco flashback & loved it, and that's the story of Me using it for a pilot episode for my 1st series of me playin' retro games after I acquired a legends flashback DX...
A large likeness of Evil Otto, the mastermind behind the robots. As you see, this is one maze in which you do not shoot at the bouncing Otto because he comes back with a vengeance!
The memories that come along with seeing this game brings me back.Back to a much better world

The robot voices were hilarious.... also the way the ruthless-but-clumsy robots sometimes destroyed themselves.
*CHARGE ATTACK SHOOT KILL DESTROY^
3:32 What is that in the middle OH my god.

That's berserk was big on Atari and even had an arcade cabinet
This is actually FRENZY. It's the sequel to BERZERK ... made by the same company: STERN Electronics. :)
Huh, Berserk
This is the sequel to Berserk - "Frenzy"
I really hate to give it to you straight, the sound of this video game is a little too low.
