Not sure I'm qualified to give you advice, since you're obviously very good, and better than than I ever was with your shield-use, I think, but I'd say that, in my opinion, when there's not a lot of big rocks to break up & cause total chaos, it can't really hurt to fire a bit more, randomly, in between your well-aimed shots, since you never run out of ammo, and there's always a chance of landing some lucky shots that will help you clear the board faster. Also, since you fire so fast & have good reflexes, and seem to stay calm under pressure, it seems like you would be quite good at Wizard of Wor -- a game that was a blast, & where you could have a buddy play with you at the same time, working as a team, as well, if you wanted, but which, like Asteroids Deluxe, gets harder the longer you go, & shows you no mercy, and has situations where firing like maniac is a useful skill. The standout feature with Wizard was that the machine talked to you. 🙂

It’s really more of a Tactical Oprations Simulator, rather than a “Strategic” Operations Simulator.

Imagine if they had had a Kobayashi Maru level on this game? lol.

The robot voices were hilarious.... also the way the ruthless-but-clumsy robots sometimes destroyed themselves.

I love FRENZY by Stern. The sprites, the sounds, the physics... everything is a great balance. Thanks for this challenging gameplay demo of the arcade version. I used to play this at my local K-Mart and eventually got the cartridge for ColecoVision and I always thought that the CV version was great. This game is eternal. There is room for expansion. I would change nothing asthetically except for maybe different modes, bonus packages to collect, and maybe more rooms that can even scroll a little bit like Gauntlet or something. I would make 99 levels and the final level 100 would unlock only if you got the bonus on all prior levels and killed Otto atleast once per. I would put easter eggs everywhere. FRENZY Expanded could one day be awesome.

What do I know about this VG {video game?} There's 2 kinds of enemy vessels/starships to defeat.

How come you never run out of photons when you never dock with starbases in the higher levels?

You’re a lot better at this game than the others who’ve posted videos of their attempts to play. You understand how to use the photon torpedoes. Keep docking at starbase and you get more torpedoes. I think you can get a maximum of 10. I would gather as many as I could, and then in the later stages, I’d hit the Klingons that were close together and get like 2 or 3 or more at a time with the shock wave. This was such a fun game! I would love to find a place with the sit-down version!

I really hate to give it to you straight, the sound of this video game is a little too low.

I never knew this game's score rolls over 1 million since the 7th digit can't register. Nonetheless, what a high score and what a game. 👍

How the hell do you lose with this game?!

I won this game when I was 5 years old and they delivered it to my house. It was from Halvsies Cereal promo. I've never seen it anywhere else my whole life. My parents moved too much so just left it one time because they were tired of moving it. Really sucked ass. You know how rare it was for a kid to have an arcade game in the 80s? Never happened.

Wow you achieved level 10 - Incredible! How did you get the ROM file of this game and where can it be downloaded from - and that being said how to also install it on a Linux computer. This version was the best back in the eighties, I actually remember when the game came out when I was in high school - it was and still is awesome!!!

I remember having the chance to play the game in the arcade on one of the deluxe sit-down cabinets that was a replica of the Captain's chair. As for the gameplay, you could say "ngaSwI' HoD!" That's Klingon for "The Captain is a slippery sucker!" 😁

Great playing, great games. Tempest, Gravitar, Asteroids Deluxe, Space Duel Star Wars and Battle Zone are simply amazing skill games. This is the golden era of video games and these vector titles are the cream of the crop. I've played them all to death. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed this.
