I've been making a list of books from all the years you've done these videos. The book recommendations are my favorite content of yours. :) I also appreciate it when you include the family read alouds in these videos. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for doing these! I'm really good at finding picture books for my littler two kids, but for my older two (8 & 7), they are getting to the point where they need books with a little more meat to them. These videos always give me good ideas of what's out there
Thank you! Love hearing your kids’ reviews!😊❤️ Would love to hear what they read for fun too with their reviews as we are always looking for more wholesome books to read and have read most of what TGTB has published in their reading levels.😊 Thank you for all of the hard work you put into being such a helpful resource, Ashlee!💗🫶
Hey Ashley! Love your content!❤ Would love if you could do a detailed overview of your homeschooling schedule from a daily stand point as well as a yearly overview.!
This is my fav video you do yearly. Man those TGATB books take some slack. My kid seems to enjoy the titles we’ve done so far but I pick for interest not required and I wonder if that has more to do with it. ❤
We read Echo Mtn as a read aloud and it's slightly graphic with the medical stuff. So it was tough to get through. Maybe that's why with the 2 stars. Love the YWAM biography books.
I love these videos... thanks Ashlee! I would also really love to see some of the favorites your kids read for fun ( even if it took until 2026 😉) I'm struggling to find books my kids are interested in. They're not fans of reading... yet! But i'm determined to get them there! I'd appreciate any ideas your kids loved. Thanks ❤
Wow. I'm soo blown away. Some of these books even grownups can't read them 🤣. I have wanted to read screwtapes by c.s Lewis, still on my TBR. I'm challenged. Your kids especially your teenagers are reading some really mature books
I love the good and the beautiful and don’t mean this negative at all! Just a question, my children don’t rate the books with their LA very highly either. Do you have thoughts on this? Do you think any assigned reading where they have to write about, answer questions about, etc makes it feel more negative to them? Or is it the pace of their writing in their books? Again, I ask genuinely, it makes me sad when they don’t love the books 🤦♀️ Just started the video so maybe you address this. I know you don’t ask them a lot of questions about it, just get the rating…but I’m curious if there was any further discussion that came up naturally. Or if they express negativity or “dread reading” about the books while reading, how you handle those discussions.
I don’t worry too much about it. The books don’t appeal to their interests as much, and they are generally slower reads. Not to say they hate them, just they aren’t a favorite. I think it’s good to challenge them to read outside their first choices.
How do you do assigned readers? Do they have to read a certain amount of chapters a day? Read for a certain amount of minutes? Or you tell them they need to read a certain amount of chapters a week? My kids read a lot, but boy do I wish I could get them to read this many. 😂
I loved The Princess as a teenager! I read that book, all the Robin Jones Gunn books and Janette Oke books constantly.
Robin Jones Gunn is THE best! I started reading her books at 13 and still read them at 44 with my 17 year old daughter. We love them all ❤

This is one of my favorite videos since Olivia is one grade above Grace and I can use these books for Grace the next school year ❤
Always love these book recommendations videos! Thank you.
I LOVE The Princess by Lori Wick!! The Hawk and the Jewel by Lori Wick is also really good.

Thank you! I just love your book list and hearing reviews your kids give each book.
One of my favorite videos every year! My oldest is a year behind your youngest and I love the recommendations.

...when do you guys incorporate your read aloud time?
...& how do you require reading how much daily?
Awesome!! Will definitely add some for our 15 and 10 yr olds! Ty for sharing
My fav video!!
This is one of my favorite videos this time of year!

Thanks! I actually already have done those! Take a look under the homeschool life playlist 🩵
I love this video every year 🥰
I love these videos! I already have a lot of these books for the future but some of them I haven’t heard of before. Thank you! 😊
My son liked The Clock Makers Son the best of all the books that came with TGATB level 5!
Do you have them write a book report or notebook the ones not included for LA? Just getting some ideas:)
Can you show us how you organize your kids books in their rooms?
Just a 6 cube bookshelf. Nothing fancy!
Is there a video with your read aloud reviews yet?
How do you watch All Creatures Great and Small?
Amazon we buy it or on pbs

How did your youngest like Captured Words? We’re ordering from TGTB and since we have Cherokee in us, was very curious about it.
Not sure if she’s read that yet

Thanks for sharing all the reviews!! You’ve raised some readers ❤❤❤❤
My son has not been a fan of TGTB reprints either…
Love love love these reviews! Thank you ❤🥰
Love these feedback videos! Thank you!
Y'all should go to the Ark Encounter. I think your dinosaur lover would especially enjoy it.
We’ve been! I have a video on my channel about it!
