The 'Thumbs up' reference: one of the very few times that I got 'something in my eye' watching a movie at the cinema. 😆😆😆 Great custom. Always nice when in a larger scale. 👍👍👍
I am really glad that I came across your channel! I love these types of projects that are scratch built. Execellent choice of background music. Keep up the good work !
Thank you for your kind words, that means a lot coming from you. I really liked your roadster, it was a real HUNK-N-JUNK when you started, and it lived up to your channel name ;)
Absolutely awesome!! Just wish I didn't destroy everything I got as a kid. Now I regret being a kid that destroyed everything just for fun. :( wish I knew where to find all the good toys again, I'd learn to fix them up or have someone like you do it for me.
That "aw man" really got me ^^ Very nice result A tip for soldering: heat up the workpiece with the soldering iron and then apply the solder wire directly to the workpiece
This model is so awesome! When I was a teenager, I was really into resto-customs -- old-looking cars, but with some modern hardware to make them more usable. This is very much the same idea. I love all of the custom and hand fabricated parts. Thank-you for this video!
I have to say that even though toy restoration is not my favorite, you did a great job. Truly remarkable result, I appreciate the dexterity and patience. Bravo. 👍 You are also very crative.
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. The lacquer was not as easy to work with as i was expecting, but I think it has great results once you figure it out.
Wow you completely rebuilt and reinvented this one. Man you did many cool things here - really deserve so many more views! Keep at it please. It is fun to watch and the toy you bring back will serve another lifetime!
Thank you, I appreciate this comment a lot. I put over 400 hours into this little guy, was definitely a labor of love, I've been planning this out for a couple years now. :)
@@Toystorations it was simply masterful - long video but one would not realize because every minute was filled with cool mastery. I appreciate you and your work!
Glad you enjoyed it :) I'd been planning this build for years. I've always liked these nylint roadsters, I had one as a kid and wished it was more realistic. Now it finally is. What kind of nylints do you have?
@@Toystorations I have a lot of the 60s nylints with whitewall tires. Also have some of the 70s like the semis and ambulances.also have a couple of roadsters
@@mimimoose1831 Their COE Ford is probably my favorite truck, I love all of their U Haul stuff as well, and of course the roadsters and hot rods they make. They've done a lot of cool stuff, they're really underrated compared to Tonka. I always liked their private label semi's, I have one for a local grocery store :)
@@mimimoose1831 I'm on facebook, facebook.com/Toystorations I'd love to see them but I probably won't be able to buy any, I've been dumping all of my money into stuff for videos lately.
It was a tough choice, but when I started measuring a real car and doing the math, the body was much too tall to be realistic, and I wanted it to sit like a real one. I agree that it came together quite nicely, sometimes I just sit and look at it.
I came over from Chip channel and dude, you have skills, keep up the fantastic work, you did a real great job on the restoration, if I'm completely honest I think it looks much better after you finished with it, and nice touch having the engine cast in pewter 👌🏻🤩🤘🏻 keep up the restorations videos, you'll get there eventually bud.
Your comment provided some much needed motivation for me. This video was a lot of hard work, and it didn't really pick up the way I expected it to... but for the few people who did find it, to get comments like this. It's worth the work. Thank you, truly.

Thanks for the kind words, and I appreciate the tip. I'll try that on the next project :)

Modded one is the best! Love the paint job too! Nice work!
Glad to hear it! I think the paint turned out exactly like I hoped it would.

@@brettparsons2014 I'll see if I can find one :) I was looking at a K5 Blazer earlier but it was too nice to modify.

Nice blues background. Artist? Very nice restoration, BTW!
