I restore old toys, I also make customs and scratch-build. I am always making new content. Stick around if you want to see more, or join me in one of my social media communities to hangout and be a part of the process.
Tonka Tow Wrecker Rustoration
Shoutout to Ronnie @HUNK-N-JUNK on YT and his Facebook Group, where all the real custom builders exist and share their builds and techniques, as well as swap toys and parts. If you want to learn more about how to actually do this stuff, join the group, it's a great community and everyone is friendly.

That being said, this video is obviously a bit of a parody, hopefully that came across. This was not a real 1940's Dump Truck, it was a 50th Anniversary reproduction from the 1990s put in a replica box. They don't make a reproduction Wrecker and I've always wanted a rusty one for my shelf but never could afford it, so I simply made my own.
These are not the actual techniques used to artificially age metal, if anyone wants to learn how to do that, I'll happily make some narrated tutorials to share. They're great techniques to match missing parts to the original patina, or to improve a patina on a custom build through artificial weathering techniques, but too often do people abuse these practices to fake restorations and in the process destroy real toys for content. I chose to make this parody to raise awareness of that and make fun of the fake restorations that are rampant on UA-cam, because a lot of channels out there are doing this and it sets unrealistic expectations for what a real restoration is, what can be saved, and what the actual process looks like. You can easily fake rust in a realistic way with paints and pigments, and you can quickly rust out metal with acids and salt. Or you can pour coffee grounds and cocoa powder on elmers glue. Yes, that's really how this was made. Those familiar with these processes though can easily see when rust is newly grown or faked, and I must say I see it a lot.
So to anyone reading this, I just want to thank you for being here and hopefully it wasn't too upsetting. The real upsetti spaghetti is happening every day, and this was meant to just poke fun of that trend. Faking content for views is often harmful to the environment and the community, and I'd much rather have fun with my toys and enjoy what I'm doing. That being said, I do also enjoy the rusty old patina look from time to time, so look for actual custom work from this channel in the future alongside my restorations. Weathering miniatures is an art of its own and it isn't going to eat into my time spent doing restorations. Those projects take a lot of time and money, and I can only do them so often. In the meantime though, I'd love to share tutorials on fabrication, patina, and paintwork if there's any interest in that. If anyone reading this is interested in that, consider subscribing and commenting to let me know. If you're already subscribed and only want restorations, don't worry, they aren't going anywhere.
On a more personal note, I'm planning on doing the Hot Rod Power Tour this year in my Camaro, and time is being spent prepping for that. I'll be releasing some videos in the future on a more personal channel that's dedicated to my travels. The account is bare right now, but I'll have content on there in the future if anyone wants to be a part of that. I'll post updates about prepping my car for the roadtrip and I plan to livestream the trip as well, so feel free to check that out on my personal channel:
ua-cam.com/channels/OCcsK4MN0Xy1pEfhB0Qrqg.html
After the Hot Rod Power Tour is finished though, I'll hopefully have found some nice toys in flea markets around the country and will be back with more content, so stay tuned!

Not sure if ASMR or ASMRN'T but this is a clip of me mirror polishing an upcoming restoration for the channel. Subscribe if you want to see the finished project, and I'll link it here once it is finished. This toy is from the 1940s, shoutout in the final video to the first person who can tell me what airplane it is and who made it. Leave me a comment and let me know what kind of content you guy...
Custom SpiderMan Themed Tonka Restoration
Переглядів 1,5 тис.2 роки тому
#SpiderMan No Way Home (not in this broken old car.) This is my longest video yet, but I didn't want to cut anything out for those who enjoy watching the whole process. This restoration was of a Tonka Fun Buggy I've had lying around for a while now, I airbrushed it with transparent nail polish I mixed up to get the color I wanted, and I sprayed it over a mirror finish polish on the bare metal. ...
UNREAL Custom Nylint Roadster Restoration

Let me know in the comments your favorite part. This car is around 1/16 scale (slightly larger) and the build is based off of the 1940's style SCTA salt flat cars often seen at Bonneville and El Mirage. These cars were the original hot rod and this car would fit right in with the SoCal scene. It is mostly period correct with a flathead ford engine, Model A Ford grille and frame, Auburn dash wit...
Custom Toy Towtruck Matchbox

In between large restoration projects and customs, I want to custom make or paint small toys just to see what I can come up with in one sitting. I have enough hotwheels in my collection to do this indefinitely, but I'd love ideas for other projects if anyone has something they want me to try to make or customize in one day, let me know in the comments and we'll see how it turns out. If you enjo...
Restoring Destroyed 1930's Airplane Toy
Переглядів 98 тис.3 роки тому
This is an antique Wyandotte brand "China Clipper" Seaplane, called a Flying Boat in 1936 when they built it, it was the first international seaplane made by Martin. Was used in the Indiana Jones movie, and this one was one of the most popular pressed steel toys of the 1930s. This particular toy has been stepped on, welded together, repainted, left out in the sun and rusted together in one whol...
I Made A Tiny Metal Dustpan For My Table
Переглядів 4413 роки тому
This is Dusty, my handmade miniature dustpan. Part of my toymaking series for my studio set up, I plan to use Dusty along with Brumhilda the broom and a few other props as actual tools to clean up my workbench as I'm restoring or customizing toys. This is a bit of a behind the scenes video as I'm only recording it to learn how to edit and work on camera while I make things, but I thought it was...
I Made a Tiny Wooden Broom That Really Works
Переглядів 5293 роки тому
This is Brumhilda, she's one of my various pet projects for the studio I built. It's a pretty straightforward project but I love doing diy and crafting these little tiny miniatures is more fun to me than buying a dollhouse prop, so here we are. This is just a fun little video to practice filming and editing, and to get used to the camera while I work but I thought it would be fun to share it fo...

That looks so cool good job

Great restoration, I appreciate your attention to details.😊
look at that wow 😃😃😃😃
Sending you an OSHA citation! 🤨 1. Drinks on working space. 2. No mask while working with dusts. 3. No gloves while cutting aluminum. 4. Failure to keep a clean and safe working environment. That's a $5000 citation! Pay by money order only. Address of where to send the money will be sent via private massage. 🤑🙃
Not impressed. New ruined a nice toy and turned it into a piece of junk. I don’t believe that was an original probably a reproduction. If it was an original, that was a very foolish and stupid thing to do.
My toys, my choice. It was done on april fools to highlight how every popular channel out there pretends to restore things, but also I always wanted a COE tow truck and I can't afford one, so I made one. Thanks for watching.
Ese tio vivo es un peligro con la velocidad que coje le pega a uno en la cara y le hace un corte
종수야 최종수!!!!!
I'm sure there are people who would say it's stupid to put such loving care and work into such a simple worthless thing and that is why I do everything I can to avoid all such people
do you buy old toys for restoration ? DAYTON PREESED STEEL TIN HILL CLIMBER FRICTION TOY BOAT marked HILL CLIMBER PAT NOV 2 1897. missing the life boats
First, the 'shears' you used are called Nibblers. Second, you absolutely ruined a perfectly good Tonka truck. What a waste. After seeing the 4-engine airplane restoration I was about to subscribe...but not now.
Very pretty.
Holy moly that's amazing 😮
Wrong kinda snips there son😂 need you a pair of wiss snips! Yellow and red my favorite 👍👍🤣😂
Oh I do hope decals were made, it was an American Airlines plane after all
Мне сборка показалась по меньшей мере странной. Много деталей, а это повышает себестоимость. The assembly seemed strange to me, to say the least. There are a lot of details, and this increases the cost. Извините. Это моё личное мнение. Sorry. This is my personal opinion.
Making the door out of paper and tracing it to sheet metal is a simple but genius idea because it is easy to sculpt the paper
Very Nice Job.
최종수가되~
Both carsor outstanding
The sand blaster is the eraser of time. I'd like to use it on my 70 year old face.
Men consider that rewarding work because you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor
Amazing Job ❤Amazing how it looked when dismantled to show how it was made ,Grandparents nowadays who grew up in the 1940s as young people would be staggered to see how a restoration project is able to bring back memories of kids having Toys like this left to rust (Sad as it was or is )To looking Beautiful once again ❤Sterling Job ❤Hello from Scotland 🏴
Wow, this one might be believable. I generally don't believe these old toy restorations. One reason they're full of shit but this one actually looks real
OUT FUCKING STANDING !
Nice job, it’s a beautiful old metal model and you totally brought it back to its old glory. 👍👍
Uhhh .. Me to left handed😎😎😍😍
Your channel is addictive for the love you dedicate to this work. Few do it with such dedication. Congratulations!
Congratulations! Amazing restoration!

Amazing restoration 👏👏
AWESOME 😎
Eww. Greasy hair.
Growing up in the 60s had an all metal DC8 battery operated that will taxi on its own , noise, lights, everything. Still in a box at my parents old home
Restorers mostly wear black gloves.
The gloves are just for effect and black shows the most dirt and grime for the camera.
This plane is ready for flight
So very satisfying!
Pastan have to be a little more about it and I can get a few things done before the new one 😁😁😜😁😜😁😜
That plane looks just like Jeremy from Thomas and friends
할 진짜 있네 ㅋㅋ
Magnífico!!
Looks faked to me.
Superb The Graphics sorfware is out of this world
The 'Thumbs up' reference: one of the very few times that I got 'something in my eye' watching a movie at the cinema. 😆😆😆 Great custom. Always nice when in a larger scale. 👍👍👍
Very nice. A lot of hard work. Thanks for sharing.

I do industrial sand blasting and coating, I see this in a lot of channels like this, you shouldn’t touch blasted metal with your bare hands, the oils, and moisture cause flash rust. Causing the coating not to adhere properly. You might not notice right away, but eventually it will fail.
I remember the late fifties a friend of mine had one of those
I hope I helped rekindle that memory for you, thank you for sharing it.
