- Welcome to the first video of 2024!!!!!
In this video I'm making a 'LOVE' collection from ceramics in just 2 days! Meanwhile I'm talking about my new years resolutions and about finding (or not finding) my personal art style.
I hope you like it! And I hope it makes kind of sense!
I also tried out a bit of a different approach to the way I edited this video, I hope it's not too chaotic :))

I know it's super awkward to watch yourself on video but I think it's safe to say that we (the viewers of your videos) don't feel the same way about you. Your personality is lovely and very refreshing and personally I prefer to see your authentic personal style like in all your previous videos. Also, as I'm an introvert, I prefer quieter styles of filming. My personal favourites are Florian Gadsby, Old Forge Creations, Pottery to the People, Simon Leach and you of course ;-) They all emphasize on their content rather than the style of filming and I really like that.
Thank you so much! That's nice to hear! I also like quieter styles of filming, but I sometimes struggle because I feel like it can become too boring. So it's not always easy to find the right balance! But thank you, that helps a lot :))
You are like a breath of fresh air Calder! Your work is perfection and very sweet. I bet I could pick what you have made from a bunch of pottery, so that says you have a noticeable style! Calder another way to say, "Let your style find you!" is to experiment and be open to those experiences. Some you will enjoy. Others, you will curse to finish them. Both you will learn from. Follow the pieces that feel right and one day your style will be sitting right in front of you! 😄❤
Such a lovely update. Excited by your new collection, so pleased for you. It would be a good blog series to show your learning process to painting, how you progress etc. I think watercolour painting is similar to painting with underglazes. You could take an underglaze palette (AMACO do these) and you could go on a picnic with some bisqueware to paint, perhaps flat plates and do landscapes on them? I recently bought an Airgoo tabletop wheel (Netherlands company - woop woop! And a better price than Shimpo aspire) and you can actually plug it into a car lighter plug and take it anywhere as it is 250W. It would be super unique to see a ceramics youtuber throwing outside of their studio for inspiration. Even if you don't any of those ideas, wishing you the best for 2024. :)

I don't own an underglaze palette😳 I'll make sure to look for one! Painting on plates while having a picnic sounds lovely :)

Ah I love your videos, you are so sweet and genuine and I feel so calm watching you! I really liked this style of hearing you talk about your life and thoughts over clips of throwing, trimming, etc :) I would love to hear more about you / more vulnerable stuff throughout the year, although I know how awkward it can feel so no pressure at all
I make ceramics too (I'm more of a beginner than you) and I relate to the struggle of wondering what your "style" is, and recently I came to the same conclusion that I should just make whatever I feel like making in the moment and that's all I need to do!

Thank you so much! Haha I clean it very often :) And to be honest, most of the time it looks cleaner on camera than it does in real life🤭
