I am 65 years old now, and I have wanted to do this since my early 20s. But I never had the time or any instructors to show me how. But now that I’m retired I might give it a go after watching your video. Thank you so much.
I got back into pottery after being away from it for 48 years. So I was 66 when I got back into pottery. I have been going to a studio for almost 2-1/2. I took two classes to relearn how to throw. They have open studio time where I go. It is such a fun time and fun to throw things. There are a lot of people who go there now. I watch with a lot of videos even now. We encourage each other and help each other with ideas. It's fun to show others what we make. I hope you are able to get into pottery. Practice a lot, and don't be afraid to cut open your pieces to see how thick and consistently even they are from bottom to top. You use the wire tool that you cut pieces off the wheel. Halfway through, you then go up. I used to make pots with such thick bottoms. No one's work is perfect. Just have fun.
Definitely prefer this voice over version! Adds a depth to the video and as a hobby potter, helps to understand how to create better. Thanks and hoping to watch more of these types of videos! 😊
Very very beautifull pieces! I like the softness of the colors and playfull design that go very well with the roundness of your forms.Every aspect of your cermics fits perfectly with each other.Grtz Tom from Belgium
Loved your video today, just finished my first course so really enjoying watching what the possibilities are. Loved the voice over style. I’m really appreciating the costs of making pottery and therefore the finished article. So many processes. Thank you
Dear Hana, thank you for showing us your beautiful pottery! I fell on the ice yesterday (I'm 56 and I don't recover from falls as well as I used to) and I've been in pain for two days. I got so relaxed watching your video that 90% of my pain is relieved! Your soothing videos are better than Advil! Keep up the great work!!! With love from Oregon's Willamette Valley.
I feel like pottery doesn't cost enough. Potters literally make an elaborate canvas AND paint on it. Every piece is an original. I'll never understand how a butter dish like this can be like $80 and then a print by a painter can be $80. It doesn't seem fair! People have no clue the amount of work that goes into a single piece.
I like the voice over! As a new potter it helps me to understand the process and know about the tools you are using. I love Diana Gabaldon's Outlander book series as well as the Lord John series she is writing.
Maravilhoso seu trabalho e seu modo de nos passar sua técnica. Obrigada por sua benevolência em dividir sua experiência com o planeta. Aqui do Brasil eu só agradeço 😊😊
I appreciate you if you make videos for beginners who’s want to learn pottery I just bought pottery wheels big one and I am from other side of the world 🌎
Project hail Mary is a super fun listen while you’re doing something! (Not to mention vvv binge worthy) I listened to the audiobook version of the book and I absolutely loved it. I’m taking my first ceramics class this weekend and one of the reasons I decided to was because I was drawn to some of your earlier videos and your skill towards making such beautiful pieces. It’s a pleasure to watch you work!
Thank you so much!! I hoped you guys would enjoy hearing about the process a bit more. I just have to get a bit better at talking in the voiceover lol.
Your voice over style is excellent. I am not a fan of music in demonstration videos but the instrumental is soft, calming and decreased in volume as you are speaking. Great technique on the wheel. Keep up the fantastic job.😊
I've never seen any of your videos and came across this one today. I thought your style of narration was perfect and I would say satisfying. Great video great work.❤
I enjoyed the voice over! I appreciated the mash up, because also find it very soothing to just watch your process. As for recommended reading/listening Sarah Addison Allen in amazing, I recently read Other Birds and it was beautiful, but I would recommend just about all of her books! I'd also recommend a Podcast Lavar Burton Reads, he chooses works that move you and make you think. Also his voice and inflection completely engage you as a listener.
Yes I wanted to keep some of the ambient studio sounds that I love while also explaining my process in a bit more depth, I’m glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you so much for the recommendations as well!! I’ll definitely look into those, I’m always looking for more audio books/podcasts since I pretty much listen to something in the studio 24/7!
I liked the voice over! I like the extra bits of info you can give us when you speak to us. I did at first thing you sounded a bit nervous but I can hear you warm up over the video - and I think if you keep going with it you'll be so comfy! Love the HP audiobook! I can recommend ''His dark materials" audiobooks by Phillip Pullman
I just finished watching your butter dish video I thoroughly enjoyed it, im also a potter and love painting on my pieces but I have been wanting to try carving and you have inspired me. Thank you
I’m so happy to have found your channel today! I can’t believe I’ve never seen one. I just subscribed. I absolutely LOVE your work. Fellow potter here.
So happy I came across your video. Love your talent . I see just about everything sold out. I would love to purchase the crow cup, absolutely gorgeous.
C'est magnifique, très joli !!! Pas spécialement pour le beurre mais comme petit bibelot car c'est très décoratif! Pour ranger des bijoux ou comme petit pêle-mêle!🤩ça aurait beaucoup de succès!😉
Hi! First video of yours! I love watching pottery and your video is very peaceful and calming. Very cute butter bowls! May you consider a paw print on the bowl knob? I’m anxious to watch more of your videos! Ohio, USA. 🩷🙏🏻👍🏼
I arrived to your channel. Your pieces are stunning!!! I just finished “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” and the second book “The Book Women’s Daughter.” You won’t be disappointed!
My first time seeing your videos. Really enjoyed the voiceover explaining your process. Also, audio book recommendations…. The Martian, Project Hail Mary and 14 were really good listens!
I haven't seen your previous videos, but found this one very direct and clear. It appears that you don't glaze it with a glassy glaze? Does one soak the bowl in water before putting butter in it, to help keep it cool?
Wow these look so lovely! This is the first video i have seen from you and it inspired me to get to my studio back again and start throwing 😍 I didn‘t catch what the shino glaze was? Is it a commercial brand or your own recipe?
Love your art! For audiobook I highly recommend Bill Bryson's "In a sunburned country", but fair warning, you might mess up your leaves while laughing out loud.

As a viewer who also enjoys making ceramics, I LOVE the voice over. I really like hearing other artists processes and learning new skills!
Thank you so much! I'm definitely thinking of keeping the voiceover in videos now, especially with these instructional type of videos!
Definitely prefer this voice over version! Adds a depth to the video and as a hobby potter, helps to understand how to create better. Thanks and hoping to watch more of these types of videos! 😊
First video I've found of yours! Love the voiceover - just the right tempo. Impressed with your level of detail and care for your pieces! ❤️❤️❤️

Such wisdom you have.
If you look properly these hand carved butter dishes are not 80$ but rather 135$ 👍
I feel the same! Each piece is a work of art

I haven't seen your previous videos, but found this one very direct and clear.
It appears that you don't glaze it with a glassy glaze? Does one soak the bowl in water before putting butter in it, to help keep it cool?
Thank you for sharing your process. I need to invest in a kiln.
Thank you! My kiln was one of the best things I have ever purchased and I don't regret it one bit!
Be-youtiful! ❤ I love those. Very inspiring. I am a handbuilder for space reasons, but that's not a real problem 😊
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing this! 💯 ❣️
Couldn't help but notice your funky shoes while you were brushing off the pieces. What are they??
Beautiful video and technique ❤
Haha they're sloggers!! 😂 The chicken pattern of course! I like them because you can just hose the clay off of them!
Wow these look so lovely! This is the first video i have seen from you and it inspired me to get to my studio back again and start throwing 😍
I didn‘t catch what the shino glaze was? Is it a commercial brand or your own recipe?
Thank you so much! I'm glad this inspired you to get back into throwing! Its a coyote shino glaze!
Love your art! For audiobook I highly recommend Bill Bryson's "In a sunburned country", but fair warning, you might mess up your leaves while laughing out loud.
Beautiful,Thanks so much!
Thank you!!!
Hi! Love your work! I wanted to know the référence of the underglaze you re using?

No, you have to use a kiln (pottery oven) because the clay needs to be heated to over 1000 degrees. A cooking oven doesn't get that hot.
Wow! What a brilliant channel I have found, perfectly put together. Does anyone know how long she has been working with clay?
Hey! I have been doing pottery for about 3 years now. :)
Шикарно! 🔥😍
❤ Very nice! Thanks to your clip
Thank you!!
Do you use porcelain or just a regular off white clay?
Painstakingly beautiful.
