1964 Thunderbird Interior Prep

I get busy prepping the interior so I can build up the firewall. I start by painting the floors with rust encapsulater. Then I install the hush mat to keep the sound down and finally rout the electrical.

Hello Matt. Going back together is exciting. Wire harnesses are looking good! I've used the rust encapsulator and the Killmat with success, also. Thumbs up for you and your dad.👍

Eastwood's has some very good material. I've used the Rust encapsulator. Yeah awesome product.

Good to see the Tbird coming together, I had fun doing engine bay, rust proofing floor pans, cleaning up wiring looms.Are you going to treat inside of rear quarters?
While I had the rear seats out I left the car out in a light rain then noticed a puddle where the rear seats go, It seems it had been leaking where the roof joins on the rear quarter by rear side windows, new sealant on those joins and some touch up paint and good to go.
It will be a fun day taking Dad on the test drive. 😊

Hey Steve. I did protect the rear quarters. I'll have to wait until I get the doors and such on to test if it is fully sealed. That's a good idea though to do before the interior goes in. It will be a good day when this car takes its first test drive and my dad will definitely be in it with me.
