You watch her antics and her attitudes in the next season, and you realize pretty quickly that she was scared of herself and hated herself in that episode arc.

@@anomalykru8552 *That's* what she meant by "wanting to be Willow", she wants her innocence back. Think of the terror of lost innocence and having lived a sinful life- and you thereby glimpse her viewpoint- she knows she messed-up big time, and doesn't want to persist on the road to Perdition.

@@anomalykru8552 This is what's beautiful about her story: the amending of her ways- and she really *needed* to amend her ways at that! Good grief; she actually used a memory spell to engage in an act of rape of her lover- sick conduct at that. No wonder she wants "out" from that kind of lifestyle and wants all magic gone from her system, considering what she did with it!
2:33 The following do a really fantastic job at showing willow's humanity and true self. Those are the parts Giles meant to instill back into her, when he let her siphon the magic from him. He gave willow back her humanity.
