I would be shocked if anyone, including aphex twin himself could recreate xtal and get even somewhat close., I mean this is pretty great, but the original is just weird af
This song is so fulfilling of the soul for the many people that lost thire lives in tragedies in any and everyway My heart goes to those may they be in the presence of our all mighty lord God save all of are souls
Nice work! I've found that I've actually come to really like the vocalist's sort of "off-beat" third note, maybe even more than the singing on the original. The only thing I'd suggest is to please change that snare, it's very abrasive.
@@RenUnderscore probably not though. the original sample is the apache beat from the incredible bongo beat and while you can see the guy has the "evil at play" sample loaded up, there's no instance of the apache beat anywhere on the ableton workspace

I can’t believe this song is from 1992
It could be even older, as it's from Selected Ambient Works 85-92
1985, Richard made it when he was 14
@@kasperdomagala4544 nop
because the album evil at play was released in 1986
@@kasperdomagala4544 i believe its one of the youngest tracks on the album actually, the sole track from 1985 was confirmed to be "I" a while ago
@@kasperdomagala4544 in 85 there was no ambient techn nor idm, it's probably later like 89, also the vocal sample is from 86.
Xtal is like a blue flame, dancing with you, telling you something you always wanted to hear but never understood.
Great description. Now do tell Come to Daddy in a pale fire.
never heard the song, but i loved this. i'll listen to the original version now
probably one of the best songs ever written
@@yamingoat maybe in the trechno-edm category

I think the kick needs slight distortion and intense reverb, but really good job
Woah apparently i've been here before
Not to mention all the tape hiss from cutting and splicing tape together then re-recording it.

simply beautiful
well done!
i like how many of these remakes are more evil than richard's own interpretation

YES ✨
spot on
i like the feeling of it, good job!
great job! quick suggestion, the rhythmic chords are not actually synthesised, it's the "lala" evil at play sample thrown into a sampler
LOVE IT! nice job brotherr
Great job! You put a lot of effort into it.
Other than the hi hats it’s perfect 😀

Did you use the original voice sample?
Yes Diego, “Evil at Play” by Steve Jeffries, Mary Carewe, Donald Greig
@@RobMurru nice, its sounds good, i can see the effort
nice
Do you think rich used a DAW or record it live with hardware?
probably with hardware
its possibly from 1992 so its unlikey that he had used a daw

He composed most of SAW 85-92 running Tiger Cub on his Atari computer. And it was all recorded live to cassette tape

I hope you realize that he was making that kind of music more than 20 years ago.
