"I'm gonna cycle oliphaunt" 😂😂😂
I live for those LSV troll moments
Pack 2 pick 1 Lurrus is the bane of LSV existence lol
I love how structured the Flash tiers are: #1= Worldspine Wurm at 15/15, #2 = Gruff Triples at 12/12, #3 = Triplicate Titan at 9/9
I would put atraxa over gruff triplets on average, although of course there are plenty of cases where GT would win and atraxa wouldn't
Vaultborn Tyrant possibly at level of gruff triplets too - 6/6 traple draw 2 gain 6 life
I’m pretty sure Woodfall Primus and vaultborn tyrant pretty easily beat out gruff triplets, and atraxa is also occasionally better.
I shouted "no" when you pump faked the oliphaunt cycle...
Funny how after watching a few LSV Vintage Cube Drafts eeeverybody now thinks they are better than him 😭
yeah… those comments telling him in game 3 turn 2 there was a better line of play you could have done. Dude, LSV is a hall of famer and probably the best (cube) drafter of all time. watch and learn his ways
@bigdripmac8685
Hall of famers make mistakes too. Believe it or not. And we’ve seen plenty of those on this channel and the channels of other hall of famers. What makes a HoF caliber player a HoF caliber player is the ability with a matching desire to constantly learn from them as well as the discipline to rarely or never repeat them once known.
People enjoy strategy talk.
LSV might be the cube GOAT but he also makes mistakes.
Good competitive players like to identify and learn from mistakes, that's literally how you learn and get better.
If your Rorschach interpretation of correcting his play sees it as "haters" or an ego thing, you likely aren't a winner.
With thousands of people watching someone is always gonna find a better line somewhere
Lol I know right. Crazy. And he usually addresses everything in the videos too, people just don’t seem to be listening? People arguing in the comments about which is the best flash target (so confidently disagreeing with LSV) when he clearly tiered his choices in the context of reanimating after flashing. 🙄
Always the perfect way to spend my lunch hour.
K command was actually so good this draft. Such a good card sometimes.
flashing in worldspine instead of Atraxa would have made match 1 game 2 ez
I love when these chimera decks come together nicely. sweet draft, Luis!
Based on some of these comment one would think LSV went 0-3 and not 2-1 in a draft league with some very strong cube players. I'm confused about what some of these commentors want
LSV smirking spelljaker sniff test is 100% accurate
31:00 or around this time - I'm confused - why would we vamp for Atraxa and not the 15/15? we want flash to resolve and we will do everything for it to happen, oppo cannot deal with 3*5/5 and it's easy win. Atraxa just kind of refill the hand but one of the rare threats in the deck is the wurm already so I don't really see the logic. If someone could explain
If I had to guess, LSV was thinking "if I flash in atraxa I can hit reanimate and then reanimate atraxa." It was a strange play but that had to be what he was going for.
I think it was overly fancy because a turn 3 flash worldspine is going to win 95% of the time or more and you take those, but it certainly would have been higher value.
Because why just win the game when you can durdle and look for more cards to eventually win the game?
Snark aside, Magic is a tough game. When playing with cards of this caliber it’s even harder. Nobody plays perfectly 100% of the time. And playing in front of tons of people takes guts, and with all the choices you have each turn, someone is going to likely find a better line than the one you took.
Lol i definitely thought he had the Consultation 😂
Surprised no consideration for Lim-Dul’s Vault on the wheel in your combo deck.
Yea I was scratching my head there. It's essentially demonic tutor
@@danplath1ok buddy slow your roll there
HI LSV, 1:08:33 were u able to use Urza's ability to tap the spell bomb for mana then sac the spell bomb to returnhexdrinker to his hand in response to Echo of Aeons? if so, was that a good play there?
He could have, but imo its better to wait until his urza is threatened by a removal spell, or the hex drinker has more mana sunk into it. Aether spellbomb could also have been used to save urza if needed and that was his only action card at that moment.
have you tried blue black storm? the extra high tides help
1:00 Isn't smugglers surprise just better than eureka? no risk of opponents putting in bad guys and two biggies is usually all you will have anyway + the other modes can be very relevant.
missed out on the title "Drafting Like I Don't Already Have Lurrus"
"Don't think I'll be playing artifacts" LSV - last words
27:43 lethal if you sac spellbomb to buff syr ginger
p1p1 flash?.. grab ur popcorn MFrs 😊
The perfect curve doesn't exi...
"Keep on Attroxin" 😂🤣😂🤣
Just a normal deck for once
lol "flash wurm"
“LaSt pIcK oKo” 😂
Flash is definitely a contender for worst mtg art of all time.
40:20 why not just play atraxa there?
The lack of both green and white mana might have had something to do with it. He'd even talked about the fact that he didn't have a way to cast it less than a minute before this...
No green or white mana?
oh i thought urza made the artifacts tap for any kind of mana
guess it's just blue mana
lately I've felt like you've been so scared to get into a lane. just waffling between decks. We don't always have to take the "right pick"
The Oath decks not working out must've affected him
I think Urza might be the card that derails the highest number of LSV's drafts. It's not that Urza himself is bad, but it incentivizes you to run junkers like Legion Extruder, Syr Ginger, and Aether Spellbomb, making the deck worse any game you don't draw Urza.
A lot of those Urza synergy cards were picked because they had Lurrus synergy as well. Spellbombs in Lurrus decks are great; opponent casts 4 drop, misses land drop, you pop spellbomb and bounce, replay spellbomb on your turn and make your land drop, that’s literal Time Walk right there. Urza certainly tempts one to take a certain direction, but I don’t think it really did in this draft as Urza was a late pick up and previous cards that had synergies with other picks just so also happen to have synergy with Urza this time around.
My cube draft strategy has changed some - I feel that getting actual broken stuff is better than settling for something mediocre, so I’m willing to keep my options open for longer. It’s not being scared, it’s aiming for higher-impact decks
@@LSVargas Do you think the higher opponent quality in these drafts encourages that approach? Since your skill edge is less than in an mtgo league so it pays off more to get an edge in deck power
Flash atraxa is a bit overrated IMO, especially when you have to tutor for it. You’re essentially using 4 cards to maybe draw like 4 new cards and not affecting the board. Reanimating Atraxa is mucho better. Having a way to reanimate her after flash makes it a much stronger combo though, since you can dig for the reanimate spell.
Yes, but flash atraxa has a high % chance of finding reanimate for the 2nd atraxa
Lsv bro what is going on with all these mid decks please lock in
Coulda just took the mana leak 😭😭😭😭😭
Before i get killed in the comments i just genuinely dont see even at that point in the draft us being a lurrus deck ever. Mana leak was perfect for what we already had
@@rezzytheskyguyhe gives his reason, Lurrus companion is a bigger payoff. it could have worked out, but the packs didn’t open that way.
@@hwago123 mana leak is just better. Period.
@rezzytheskyguy
Mana leak
The point is that lurrus is a busted card when you get the deck for it. Mana leak is always good, but never as good as peak lurrus. It’s a trade off, and I usually think it’s worth going for lurrus
