Nice tour Ian. My mates Dad, Uncle and Cousins were all "In the Wood". Mainly Sweet Chestnut coppicing. Their go to chainsaws were always "Dan Arm"

Well you spent about as much as I used to there 😆. I had a TP 760 (I think 760) with 45 degree fly wheel and sat 90 degrees to the mog, nice chipper but not as nice as the schliesing turntable on the other mog 👌. Think a narrow access tracked cherry picker for me but ££££🤦♂.
Was Davies Implements Carmarthen there , the people you bought the log splitter off ? I can remember my father buying a Zetor tractor off the girls father years ago ! 😂😂😂

Intresting to see how you would get on with a towed cherry picker, I've use nifty 120 and absolutely hated them.
These days we tend to hire in hinowa light lift 20.10 Obviously a bigger machine but the tracks make them so so versatile.
The towed cherry pickers always seemed to take ages to level up were as with the tracked hinowa you can just lift the legs slightly clear of the ground and track it forward a bit and go again.
The absolute worst machine I have ever used was an almac crawler, on paper great but in real life crawler was a very accurate description, slower than a snail and the machine would constantly cut out on safety at farr less than its theoretical capacity on out reach so very very restrictive.
Absolutely nothing is cheap now a days. Good pair of work boots are always expensive.

How much is the boom unit on the truck 150,000.00 or what. Cherry picker unit , self propelled unit way taller boom.

So many toys so little time.
You could do a complete rebuild on your lift, over a winter, for maybe £4,000 to £7,000. A blind sight less than £28,000.
I think Ian is worried about the Land Rover as he mentioned MOT.
Not sure I'd like a trailer mounted CP. Too much humping and shoving to get them in the right place on a damp field.
