The voice you couldn't locate along the road was the NPC Boc (They're currently a tree, try rolling). Sort of an interesting, and particularly obtuse side story (fully optional, no particular reward worth chasing).

as a former balatro hater, I recommend going back to the first video and learning how to play if you dislike it. it really is a once in a 5 year game, amazing stuff

It may have good mechanics for builds and stuff but it is insanely boring to watch. Compare it to something like Spelunky 2, both have great banter, but Spelunky 2 is insanely entertaining to watch and play.
It's a card game. You have no spine or standards.
You know... and IM not complaining... it's been nice seeing you two talk more about being dads and stuff than progressing in the game. I mean this is video five or six, right? Ya'll are still fighting the gooner man with many hands. This is the future.

I watch a TON of youtube but I've been on here since the beginning in 2005. My algorithm serves me well, I'm not watching any vlogs, I don't think I watch anything that can be considered mainstream lifestyle/pure influencer content. I've never seen a mr beast video because from what I've heard its super min-maxed. I like long-form content like NL, Contrapoints, Jenny Nicholson, HBomber Guy and just plain old nostalgia bait. 15 minute long videos that have been edited to perfection for maximum revenue down to the millisecond is just a big ick. I know it sounds very high and mighty but come on, its just hustle culture and thats trash

Agreed. I like some of the banter but the Librarian dilutes out the banter highlights for me. The game is like watching paint dry
the problem with balatro is its save scum the game. you just keep rerolling until you get an insane run because nothing else will cut it.

Balatro isn't a bad game, it's just a terrible viewer experience, it requires the content creator to pay enough attention to hurt the banter, at least seemingly, it's visually uninteresting and indistinct throughout, forcing a viewer to either completely ignore the gameplay entirely or give their undivided attention to the gameplay, and, in the same way that Luck Be A Landlord was too much "strict proper play + considerable luck", Balatro seems to be in the same boat, giving it an overall feel of staleness.
