Old man in the pool was brilliant ! I can not wait to see the new special . Mike is an amazing comedian and the challenges he has overcome are pretty amazing !
Hello, my name is Plutarco haza I’m an actor from Mexico. I saw the interview of Mike Birbiglia on the Jimmy Kimmel show and I want to clarify something ,I never stole anything from mike Birbiglia. I bought the rights of the play the new one and I performed it For a year, I am a well-known actor in Mexico, Latin America and the Latino people living in the United States. All of them know I I am not mike Birbiglia, they know I’m an actor playing the character Mike in the play the new one by Mike Birbiglia. I understand that comedians sometimes do anything for a laugh but is very delicate for my reputation to say that I stole anything. jimmy I send you a hug. I’m a big fan
Do you think it's possible that fact got edited out & Mike didn't know it was cut? Like your own reputation is one of integrity & professionalism, leaving the audience to believe you did the performance w/out having bought the rights, especially after saying the 4 of you all had a great zoom conversation, doesn't sound like something Mike would do to another artist. I hope he clarifies this/sets the record straight. I hope your show gets filmed, it will be lovely to hear your version.
We believe you Plutarco !!!!!!!!!!
You're a very very good actor
From whom did you buy the rights?
I love Birbiglia!
The first time I became aware of him was when I heard him telling about sleep walking out of the 2nd story window @ the La Quinta Inn in Walla Walla, Washington (where I grew up). I was in tears, I was laughing so hard. I've been a fan ever since! I wish I'd been there when you came through this year; I'd have been front row❣️
Love Mike! Saw his show the Old Man and the Pool in NYC, and it was awesome!! Can't wait to see his new one!!
Mike Birbiglia is hilarious! ❤
I wanted this conversation to keep going!
Always a pleasure to hear/see Mike Birbiglia, and I’m always surprised about why. This was no exception. Phenomenal story about him & Larry David. Thanks Jimmy _et al_ at _Jimmy Kimmel Live!_!
Great program Jimmy 😅thx for sharing😊
"Has your daughter met her Mexican Daddy?"
* insert shot of Guillermo lookin' sly *
the producer of the spanish show, adal ramones (also on the poster), used to have a talkshow in the 90's and would rip-off snl sketches there (badly)... don't remember who he used for the sting-in-an-elevator one, but it was some mexican singer who he had on the show that day... i even sent an email to lorne michaels about it, but i never heard back...
International laws. 🤷🏻♂️
Mike is so relatable lol
Jimmy Kimmel has the best set! 🌃
Mike is hilarious! I do love his comedy.
Plutarco Haza is a great actor an producer well known in Mexico and latin america, the play "Voy a ser papá" was made with all the legal rights and credited to Mike. Please be clear with the information. No one stealed or uncredited Mike, maybe he need no talk with his agents. Plurarco is an awesome actor and artist.
According to Mike, in a reply to Haza's reponse on Instagram which apparently remains unadressed by Haza so far, Haza had not bought the rights when Mike first found out about it - even though Mike was not accusatory and said all was good now, it looks like he did it only after Mike got in touch, likely in order to not have it scalate further - maybe he was misled by the director, who himself seems to have faced plagiarism accusations before. Either way, to say he didn't steal and bought the rights to the play is only a half truth.
He straight up stole the show. Maybe that’s why he’s popular, he steals good material.
@@Fuzzypotato2 no , he payed the rights and well credited the play. I was there, you did not.
@@AdrianManzo They showed the poster for the play right there in the video, at 3:11, and there was no mention of Mike anywhere. Are you claiming Birbiglia doctored Plutarco's poster to remove the credits? Maybe you saw the play AFTER Birbiglia found out and talked to him, when he finally did buy the rights to it?
@@nighthiker that was not a poster, it was a internet image, I was in the premiere night here in Mexico City, it was always well credited in the banners, publicity, the social network, the playbill etc...
Mike is funny i remember him guest hosting your show 😂
This was an excellent interview with Plutarco, idk about identities but he sure can steal the show 🤙
I adore Mike Birbiglia. AND I live in Walla Walla!!
He is so nice about the show copy thing. It's not just his story but also what it takes to compose a show, all the ideas and details
It’s crazy that it’s even legal for someone to do that without giving credit.
Oh I wouldn’t take away from this that he’s not taking action. He’s a comedian telling a funny story on a late night show. That’s entirely separate from what his team is doing on the business end.
Actually Plutarco did buy the rights of the show, I think he is modifying the story to tell it in the show
Actually, that is not true. Plutarco bought the rights, saying he stole everything it is not accurate.
Love Birbs!
Now, I hope I can find him on Netflix!
Awesome show tonight ❤
Once I made a comment on twitter mentioning "Christ will come at 10" and I mentioned Mike and he shared it with his brother and his brother liked it, and it is still a moment I look back on with awe and wonder.
Plutarco Haza stole nothing ! He bought the right to the play ! This is defamation of character . He bought the rites ! Get it straight ! Plutarco is one of the most coveted actors in Mexico ! He is one amazing actor. He is very distinguish and very well respected !
Don't you think Mike would know if he sold the rights to his show?
@@ElsabethTinkhamapparently not, the posters and interviews Plutarco Haza did credited mike as the author. It’s on the internet.
@@ElsabethTinkham He knows! But at the beginning his agency had not notified him, Plutarco Haza is a great actor with a great career and known throughout Latin America, I hope that Mike apologizes to him, since otherwise he will surely be sued.
This was because his managers didnt tell him that Plutarco bought the rights
Rights or not, performing someone else’s life story as if it were your own is very bizarre
Smart move turning off comments on the carpool vid. 🤣
Should talk with your lawyers.
For those who are curious: the Birbiglia-Haza spat is continued on the latter's instagram account in the comment section.
He really looks like Tom Hanks, back in the day!
Good morning jimmy kimmel fans
We love mike birbiglia
I loved the Jon Stewart bit ❤
WOW Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel and his family. and Mike Birbiglia🤣😂😆
"Voy a ser papá" vs "The New One" is like Metástasis for Breaking Bad.
I wonder what people were writing that made them block comments on the other video
Mike! Can I do the Puertorrican version? I’ll put your name on it… Miguel Borbotones…
How bizarre. Performance Story by of his life stolen. Wow. And how cool he was about it. 🥰
Actually, he is not cool. Plutarco bought the rights, and it is not very kind to make accusatory stories. Plutarco has been a professional and respected actor for more than 30 years.
Shug fisher talk about Roy rogers
False allegations against an actor/producer for the sake of a "funny story"... not so clever...
How is he being so impossibly nice about that gratuitous plagiarism???
I know, right? I was thinking the same thing. But then I thought, he's probably gonna make bank and some awesome material making a story of this whole thing. And he's mike, he's just a class act no matter what. I love that guy.
And who knows, he might have limited recourse because it’s in another country. Too lazy to Google.
You can’t oversell Martin Short.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why did Jimmy have to comment on how Mike is dressed? He looks great
For those wondering, comments are automatically shut off for any UA-cam video that has children. Also I thought the Jon Stewart bit was great!
He's a funny guy. Does he smoke weed now? I haven't seen him in a while but he seems a little more "baked" than I remember him.
💜💜💜U Mikey😘 BYW I Had To Do That At 4 On A Baby Coaster And Everyone Still Yelled And Booed Me. I Ride Em All Now, Well Not Really. Spine Surgeries.
Mike Birbiglia's real father is Tom Hanks
There goes Billions of pesos, to someone who doesn't even have a kid!
WTF Mike!
He just told Jimmy he has a nine year old little girl. Maybe you should have your hearing checked. Debra Bader.😂
@@debrabader806Isn't he talking about the Mexican plagiarist?
@@debrabader806 Mike Birbiglia, the comedian has a nine-year-old daughter. The dude in Mexico that stole his show does not have a daughter.
@@HH-gv8mxPlutarco paid for the rights! Mike tried to be funny but Plutarco will surely sue him if he doesn't apologize for that lie.
@@silviast15 I don’t think he paid for the rights to copy his entire act. He didn’t even ask permission before he stole it. But now, at least he’s given Birbiglia credit.
I love Jimmy tho the picking up Jon Stewart segment was a clunker. So bad they shut off the comments.
Yeah I just saw the comments were off, what happened there???
@@FirestormX9 people making fun of Jimmys troubled looking son. The bit was a disaster
@@SuburbanNightmareChannel whaaat, that's just cruel. It didn't look like he was 'troubled' so much. That's wrong. I guess the onus of the wrongness is on the people rather than the bit itself.
… make sure they stay animated & try to keep them dry
Leaving aside the stealing of the show (which wasn't a nice thing to do)... Plutarco is a great mexican actor
He’s an actor??. 😂
He didn’t. The posters and interviews he credited Birbiglia. Its on the internet.
@@baby200921 seems like it was corrected after the first contact?
Bohemoths!
Lmao…
This Pluto guy is a total freaking fraud!🤯🤬
The direction of this show is made by Adal Ramones, an opportunistic, plagiarist individual, the reason for this is that he has nothing to contribute and has stolen the content of others and continues to do so.
Cuidado.
This Adrian Manzo guy must be getting paid by this other Plutarco guy.
He is putting his hands on the fire for him, or maybe they are associated in some way
Steve Martin used “MY GIRLFRIENDS BOYFRIEND” in his standup comedy show in the 1970s. Just saying 😂
too dorky for me...I used to think he was funny
He’s still funny, you’ve just lost your sense of humor 😂
who's this guy? first time I see/hear him 🙄
The U. S. stole California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico (after gold was found in the West), so the Mexican man steals a show. I'd say it's fair.
How are these things even comparable?
WoW Martin Short.
I bet you could count the funny things he said, on one finger?
If even that?
