The two tone Submariner with blue dial is gorgeous. The original Stainless Steel is more of a classic, casual look and the two tone gold-steel is more of flashy and dressy piece. Both are works of art. It's a real "looker" and the ultimate badge of success.

I’m from Singapore. This is a most versatile watch which it’s not as flashy as what some of the guys think. The two tone only give contrast to the watch and u can put it on with formal clothes or as casual as in Bermuda T-shirt. I’ve own it for almost two years and still love it so much. Always on my wrist day in day out although I also have a stainless steel submariner and a yacht master two tone. Great watch 👍

It really popped under the jewelry-case lighting at the AD. But, I said, “Thanks but no thanks” as I was holding out for a 39-mm Explorer. So, I speculated the earmarked money for a Explorer on many volatile asset classes. Let’s just say that now I can have a large collection of SS Rolex from my gains if I wanted to. I got over my Rolex bug though. Now, I just look at other people’s watch collection on UA-cam. It’s good enough for me.
I just got this watch and I can't believe how stunning this watch is to see & wear in person! I wasn't sure about the two tone yellow gold but now that I have it, I love it more & more every day! I originally was thinking of the white gold GMT Master II but the blue sub certainly can hold its own!!

I went to the Rolex dealer today to buy the Stainless steel submariner based on your great review of the watch, however I was surprised to find out that it is out of stock due to high demand and he doesn’t know when he will receive the next one. So I asked him to show me the two tone, and he had one in a black bezel and another in blue bezel like the one you are reviewing here. I personally liked the blue but since it would be my first Rolex I was afraid that the blue color would be over the top. I am glad I saw your video for now I know for sure that this is the one.
Like wise grab it I tried to get it at the AD no luck picked it up at a place called the watch collector in Melbourne $16995 aud ,even though it's 4 half years old
Have owned this watch for 6 months now and it is fantastic. Very comfortable and always great to look at.. Originally I was looking at a normal stainless sub in black or the hulk, the black was too similar to my other 45mm Omega Planet Ocean and the hulk which although looks good in photos on the wrist the green was very milky and did not suit me and was not prepared to pay over list price. Another dealer showed me this two tone blue, straight away I said it was too loud for me as I don't like blingy or standing out and would never wear a gold watch..., then I put it on...! ☺️ the blue really is beautiful in person, yes the gold shouts out a little but it looked great and blue suits anything.. After a few days you stop thinking about the gold and then you can really enjoy the watch. So anyone who is interested in the watch but thinks its too loud, go try one. Your brain will adjust!! 😁 🧠 ⌚🥇👀
I definitely agree Dylan! One of my absolute favorite Rolex watches today. But as many others say it's a little too "loud" for me. But although I own the steel version (116610LN) I still have my eyes on that one as well... 🤔
great review. I had this 116613 lb sunburst blue dial 2015. flipped it for same solid gold 116618lb sunburst dial 2017. I found the two tone not in either camp. I prefer plain steel or all gold. i wear it daily and not had any bad scratches yet my.other watches d date 2 yellow gold champ dial2014 also the Daytona everose gold black dial 2016 and the new 2017 sea dweller red. love them all.
The previous 40mm Bluesy had yellow/gold lettering on its dial face. The new 41mm Bluesy has all white lettering on its dial face. Also the new Bluesy has the Rolex Crown just below the 6 o'clock bar located right between the words SWISS MADE. The older model does not.
Whether it is flashy or not, it really depends on the wearer's personality instead of just clothing. Some might look bling af and gaudy wearing this, but a rare few can actually wield it with style without any cheap or gaudy feeling at all.

I have a large Rolex collection and it's funny that the first one that captured my heart is not part of it. That is about to change!

This watch is gorgeous at first glance mesmerizing i would say but easily forgotten. You will get bored looking at the blue dial sooner or later. Plus the glidelock clasp is just too long. I prefer the TT gmt master. Its just perfect and more versatile than this.

Bought the watch 2 days ago. It is really looks gorgeous for me. Only worry that I have is, it might easily visible in case of scratches.
The first 2 tone Sub was the 16803 in 1984 NOT the16613 as you state. The 16613LB wasnt released until 1988.

Bought this watch on 14th June 2018. Amazing watch but only issue is the scratches ....it would definitely restrict you to use every day...
