- This video will show you how to make DIY, no-sew, gnome shoes using plastic eggs! The galoshes are soooo cute! They are easy and fun. I give basic steps and you can customize it to any type of Gnome. These will provide a nice stable foundation for your standing gnomes. Get creative and use them with your traditional no-sew sock gnomes too!

Love all u do. Yes I want 2 make this shoe that is if I can fine eggs. I live 2 hrs from town and don't get 2 go that often.
You could order them online to save yourself a trip. I just googled Easter eggs and quite a few options came up, even in the off season. Good luck!

I love this technique..I have not made a gnome yet but I plan on it and I will be using your technique for the shoes. My high school colors was blue and orange and we were the Tigers Too funny. School is in Buffalo NY class of 81. 🤗

Hello. I am watching your how to video for the gnomes and its great. How tall are y our gnomes? I see you adding the tube to the shoe base and then the attachment at the top to add the body. Wow that looks really tall. Love the idea of the spackel to weigh down the shoes
Each of my gnomes end up being different heights but the standing gnomes average height is about 12” tall.
These shoes are adorable! Thank you for sharing how to make them! Where do you find eggs that split that way? All I can find are ones that split vertically.

Also.... If there's a little glue oozing out, just get your heat gun and melt it. It'll disappear in the fabric. Great trick!

I started with the eggs this past weekend and I was working out of my brain only....so it's been a rough ride...LOL
Oh believe me, I understand. Many times I start working a project out in my head before I ever try it in reality. Sometimes it Keri’s me up at night. It won’t go away until I give it a try, and if I’m being honest, not all my ideas actually work, but giving them a try, at least I learn what doesn’t work and I can move on or try a different path. It’s like putting together a puzzle for me. Working things out can be frustrating but more often it’s rewarding.
You can use sand or Gravelotte from dt to weight down foon or leg instead of all that glue and then just glue on top.

This was fascinating! Maybe you could sell them!!! I bet you could make high-heels or sandals by covering with flesh tone first as the foot then using the colors to make the shoe onto the foot. I hope that makes sense!

What are the measurements for legs start in the body of none then what length you start out of shoe to attach to leggs
Hi Pat! I usually do about 10 inches from the top of the sock to the bottom, then there's the connector, and roughly 3 inches of straw into the shoe. I hope that helps!!
love them but, how do you fasten the balloon straws to the gnome body??
Hi Sheila! So you tuck the straws into the gnome body "stuffing" and hot glue them in place. Then they should fit into the connectors that are glued in place within the shoes. Hopefully this helps!

These eggs are also hard 2 get.
Definitely easier before Easter season, but I did just google them online and there are a few places that carry them year round, but I agree, the cheapest way is to stalk up during the Easter season.
