Go over the Poisoner feat next! I love Poisoner. Just in general, it looks like players can dole out the Poisoned condition a lot more easily. Rogues, the adjustment to _Ray of Sickness,_ the buff to Poisoner. Maybe that means most of the new monsters, and perhaps a few of the older monsters, aren't immune to Poison damage and the Poisoned condition?
@@Razdasoldier Yup! That's part of why I'm excited! I love taking Poisoner on a Necromancer. The feat does not specify whose weapon I can apply poison to, so I like giving it to a party member or a skeleton. That way I can _Summon Undead,_ splash an allied weapon, and on turn 2, fire off _Ray of Sickness_ and splatter the Poisoner poison on another allies' weapon.
Adding Wisdom as a possibility was logical. The idea of a cleric/holy man giving a speech that inspires people to greatness is common in literature and life. And it much not different for Rangers, Monks and Druids as well (though Druids are just howling with wolves I bet).
I like this approach, it's not a slog to edit and is easily searchable with SEO, but too, it's just concentrating on _one_ specific element instead of throwing _alllll_ of the feats at you at once haha
I can’t wait till you get to the Duel Wielder feat! It sounds like some people are interpreting it as you get a 2nd BA attack if you have the feat because it says “extra” BA attack in it.
Looking over the comments, I'm down for either Poisoner or the Chef feat being next. Both are good ones, and I'm curious about the change. I know the Dungeon Dudes were a little sad that the ASI wasn't removed from Chef so it could be an Origin feat choice so they didn't have to wait until 4th level. I agree that thematically it'd make for a great 1st level feat. I feel like it should be one of the exceptions to the rule regarding ASI giving feats. As for the song, if you're a One Piece fan, you know it's gotta be Bink's Booze. Yo ho ho ho, Yo ho ho ho.
I dunno... I mean.. "happy birthday to you!" takes all of about 35 seconds to sing.. and it doesn't specify how long the song has to be, and who's to say that can't be inspiring... even if it isn't one's birthday? haha
@@gamemasters oh haha, sure. I must have misunderstood you then. If one can do both in one short rest then i see no problem in trying to perform something inspiring for both of that features. I’d even try to make some preparations for every session as a player!
I wouldnt apply homebrew to justify narrative dissonance. Best to just rule at as RAW here considering 2 feats were spent. It’d sour my experience if I was only allowed 1 on a short rest even when both features say I’m supposed to get its effects. By the mentioned logic, Fighters wouldn’t get Action Surge back in the short rest too, or have to pick between the 3. Narratively, it can be easily explained. A musical performance (musician feat) that works to inspire others (inspiring leader feat) is the basis of drummers in war or music idols like Elvis or Michal Jackson who captivate their audience and attention.
So the same feat, sans the obnoxious 10 minute penalty and adding an odd option to boost Wisdom. Alright. Straight upgrade is nice, but the text is a little bloated.
I think that's one of the things they attempted to fix with this... "update" is to cut down on the bloated text.. the issue is.. not all the bloat was cut and what _was_ cut was replaced with massive pictures.. I'm not a fan of so much art in a core rule book. I want.. eh... what are they called.... oh yeah.. rules. I'd like to see more rules in a core rule book.
Would you allow 2 party members using both feats in the same short/long rest? Like a player using the Inspiring Leader feat followed immediatly by another player making the epic or inspiring music for it!
I mean... I'm not opposed to the idea... might be kindav cool... I'd likely add in "surprise" effect though (something positive) on the 1st time, it likely wouldn't trigger the "surprise" effect on a second night, but hey.. if the performance is epic... something wicked cool has to happen.. right?

agreed.
As a DM, I'd probably allow it.
Example of a song that achieves both: "I'll Make a Man Out of You." --Mulan.
LOL that's a valid point.. some songs are all inspiring in multiple ways..
LOVE the short form 2min explanation, Thanks!

sadly, I'm not feeling terribly inspired at the moment. someone needs to sing me a song or something. WotC's action really have me down..

I think several songs could qualify for a "one hit wonder" haha
Sounds a lot like Leadership feat from 3.5
Is it me or is this 5.5 edition reverting back to a grittier game like 3.5?
What are your thoughts?
I kindav get that impression.. just a little. I mean.. it's still a long shot away from that but there is a small amount of grit in it.
I would have to agree with that.
Chef could use a rework. Is it in the new handbook?
it is! should I cook up a video and cover it?
Having to do two songs/speeches seems a bit rough as players have to choose what they want to get on that short rest

Personaly I would say on a long rest you can do both and on a short only 1 at a time.
kindav makes sense..
