All I can say is , once you feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit no matter what it is , casually drinking, barely drinking, smoking marijuana or even smoking cigarettes. Once that conviction hits you, you will KNOW and you will feel it so strongly that you Know you need to STOP . Just listen to the Holy Spirit ☺️

100 percent true. I was a drinker drinker almost everyday and God took the taste out of my mouth. I don’t even crave it no more at all. Thank you Lord for that. I did have some wine at first but then I just felt I don’t even need that no more. I got God with me I just wanna be in God presence. Be sober minded.

Thank you for testifying I’m proud of you brother . I’m currently going through the same with weed. At first my mind was trying to cop a plea and I’d think maybe I could smoke cbd instead which doesn’t have any psychoactive effects. I caught myself, then had thoughts about nicotine products like black n milds and realized how much of an issue I actually had . I’m completely sober and feel gods presence with me and now I’m at the point where I don’t crave or think about any of these things God is great 💪🏽

Recite the Lord's prayer everyday, believe it with faith and it does something without you even trying to do anything. Put the rest that you want to pray about afterward or even before, and it'll dwindle. Pray to see and not be blind and it be revealed to you what you're really doing and what it really is and you should come through it all if you want it enough and you let that faith keep building enough through you to believe enough what's been revealed to you and then just praise God/Jesus. He loves to be praised.

Thank you for this Marcus. As someone who has off/on struggles with using alcohol as a way to feel better or have a good time, I needed to hear this. I have had bad experiences in the past of getting too drunk and not remembering the things I said/did the next day. I would end up hurting some people I was close to and feel so much guilt. Ever since becoming a mom in March, I have not wanted to drink as much and now that I have grown closer to God again, I want to stay sober-minded. I want this for my partner as well but he likes to drink. Please pray for us.

Hey girl, I'm 20 months sober. I would black out. Not remember. Sleep around hurt people AND not remember. It was rough. I didn't even MEAN to do it bc I don't even have a memory of it BUT I did it and take accountability. By being accountabile for my evil actions I quit alcohol cold and fully with Jesus help. The best I'm sorry and apology to the ones we didn't mean to hurt, is to NOT drink. Ever. We will never be healed. We will never be able to "controll it" we will always end up taking it too far. May be able to control is temporarily but not permanently. Eventually you will get out of control, embarrass yourself, others, or harm yourself and other's. Especially as a mom to mom, here, kid's need us strong and sober minded. You got this sister. If God did it for me he will do it for you. But you have to let it go first. Stop drinking for good and God will deliver you from the cravings or the bad days where you feel bad and want to unwind. Don't fall for the trap. We WILL have bad days. Inevitable. But my days are not as bad as my best days drinking. No shame or sickness the next day. Worth being sober. God bless you. You Can and will do it. Break the generational curse from your child BY being SIBER 🙏🙏❤️

I agree that wine back then isn’t what there is now . I can’t lie, I drink on occasion but I don’t see the point of it besides having it to alter your current state. As a believer I really see more and more it’s pointless. The way it makes you feel , I want to be my true self and allow the Holy Spirit to fill me what I’m looking for. It’s a personal conviction . Not easy but my take. I’m definitely not drinking to get drunk.

Hi nice to meet you...I drink the occasional glass of red wine for my blood and my stomach as the Lord told me a little wine would help my stomach problems...so I see nothing wrong with it other than when its abused...use is not abuse... God put everything on earth for our use not our abuse I believe the Word and that's what it says...it also says keep what you believe between you and the Lord so u don't condemn yourself by causing someone to do something they think is wrong...if u believe it's a sin then it is...for you...I wish more teachers would use all scripture to explain their point not just the ones that fit what they say... Jesus said what u put in your mouth isn't a sin it's what comes out of it... however we know gluttony and greed are sins that are idolatry...that's abuse of what the Lord has given us...the reason I commented was that u were one of few who actually I felt had some common sense. I stopped drinking liquor in October of 2021. I remember hosting a dinner for my birthday at a reputable Mexican style restaurant. I ordered a margarita. I felt as if the drink wasn't strong enough. So my bestfriend ordered me a shot. Took the shot and nothing happened. I was baffled. I remember that I had vowed to stopped drinking. That night I could not get drunk. I never touched any liquor again. This year I'm promising to let go of my occasional cup of wine. My last cup was August 20th 2022. Based on God's word and my personal relationship with the Lord. I'm 100 percent certain that we should not be consuming liquor, and we should not be drinking wine for fun. Read your Bible people. Talk to God about it. He will order your steps.

Michele Knox, I though wine was good for medicinal purpose like stomach ailment, and drinking ain't a sin but being drunk is. I have to drink wine or liquor for stomach ailment ( diverticulitis ). I watch what I eat so I don't have to, but every now and then I have to. An alcoholic shouldn't drink period but find another source for stomach ailment like vanilla flavor (that works too ). My opinion about Christian Rap doesn't make sense to me, but I don't knock who like it. I'm not a fan of Church music, so I sing praises to God with thanksgiving from my heart. I still don't knock anyone that like Church music. The Holy Spirit will convict us when we stumble and fall. I'm glad Marcus talked on this subject. Stay blessed and safe 💞🙏.

Drinking is not a sin, getting drunk is a sin. People try to say that what they were drinking in the bible is different then what they are drinking today, but it was alcohol just like it is today. Noah Got drunk on wine, David got uriah drunk, Lots daughters got him drunk. So it was alcohol. The problem was not drinking the wine is getting drunk. Anything that we do to much off that is not worshiping and serving the Lord is a sin. We make Idols of these things addictions etc. The bible says to drink a glass of wine for the infirmities. A glass of wine has been found to help the body, but more then a glass has shown that it then does not help the body.

    • @danyonka3180
      @danyonka3180 2 роки тому

You have terribly deceived yourself. Look at the sins that wine was used for in those situations. Just because it happened in the Bible does not make it okay in the eyes of God. You have to understand these people were broken like you and me. Noah got drunk on wine and laid around naked.. is that a Godly and holy thing to do? David slept with Uriahs wife and tried to get Uriah drunk to cover up his sin. Lots daughters got their father drunk and had sex with him which was an abomination in the sight of the Lord. They committed incest. All of these situations are actually a very negative example of wine and proves why you should stay away from it.
Also, that verse about infirmities should be taken into context. Paul was telling Timothy to drink a little wine because of certain sickness. They had bad water back then and didn’t have a lot of ways to kill bacteria. Wine was a great alternative. Medical care has come a long way now thank God. We don’t need to drink wine for sickness because we have modern medicine that doesn’t risk the possibility of getting drunk.

I've never been convicted about drinking wine. HOWEVER, I did have a reflection moment after realizing that I would brag about loving wine even though I drank it in modesty (in the comfort of my own home, alone), and I had to ask myself "Do I love this more than God?" and "Is there anything that I wouldn't give up for God?". When I answered these questions for myself I realized its best that I surrender drinking wine to the Lord as a sacrifice. I won't lie and say I'll never do it again because like I mentioned before I never felt convicted about it, but if God tells me not to do it anymore then I'll obey.

This is YOUR personal conviction. Drinking narrows down to moderations. If you feel drink is a sin don’t do it and if you choose to drink because there’s no personal conviction in the area then you’re late to drink in moderation meaning you know not to go overboard. Paul tells us when it comes on a personal convictions do not flex your Christian freedoms to cause another brother or sister to stumble but also do not look down upon another brother or sister because they are doing something that you wouldn’t do this is how we solve this problem of personal convictions. Let us respect each other’s convictions and walk in love.
And Marcus all you’re doing is reading the Scriptures you’re not actually giving proper contexts you’re reading the scripture at face value spewing them off but you’re not really going in depth of what the scripture means. there are plenty of scriptures like in Ecclesiastes with Solomon saying Gods gift to man is to eat drink and enjoy the fruit of his labor. Here’s the thing I don’t even drink really at all lol I have a wine cooler with my wife every blue moon we sit down and talk then go to bed that’s it so plz Marcus speak for yourself on this topic don’t speak for others my man lol

I drunk once when I was 21 and decided that it was not for me. I dont see what is appealing about drinking something that burns your throat and furthermore spending money on something that you're going to vomit the next morning and then acting out of control and belligerent when you're drunk. I'm usually always the only person within a group that doesn't drink except my family. Most of my family is saved and I didnt grow up with my parents drinking alcohol or smoking anything. So I'm sure they were main influence as to why I never cared for it. People love to bring up that Jesus turned the water into wine for their justification. But like it says in the video to each it's own. I just dont like when people try to make me feel like I'm abnormal because I don't drink, have tattoos, or some of the other things a lot of people do. I told God I’m still not drinking I need you in your fullness! The devil was on me telling me “awe they’ll understand send somebody to the store and have them bring you some cigarettes too” it had been two years since I quit. I held on to God because then I knew it was the Holy Spirit preparing me by saying in 2020 I wasn’t going to drink anymore. Plus two days before my son was murdered Jesus came to me in a dream holding a lamb gently across his shoulder. I didn’t know what it meant until I got a knock on my door. I knew if I took a drink I would have never came back mentally and maybe not spiritually. After God gave me that dream there was no turning back! It was a battle still a battle because I miss my son, I thank God my son was saved! God did not have to come to me in my dream He didn’t have to do that for me. I’m eternally grateful can’t any wine or liquor top that High of Jesus carry a lamb in my dream and two days my baby was gone. I wish I would take a drink! Not! I do agree that if you have an issue with alcohol or if alcoholism runs in your family that you shouldn't drink it. Also if you think it may cause your brother or sister to stumble stay away from it too. However the premise of the argument that wine in biblical times is not the same as wine today isn't completely true. There is no archeological evidence to suggest it isn't the same. Also it's not right to assume that God didn't know what the future of wine would be, God knows all so He knew we would have these arguments or disagreements but still He doesn't say drinking wine is a sin. Also I noticed you only quoted scriptures that talked about drunkenness and not what the Bible says that's positive about wine. If you're going to make an argument against it, you have to use all of scripture not just the verses that you feel support your argument. That's bad exegesis, also Jesus did drink wine and it says we will drink wine in heaven. Let's not add or subtract anything from the word of God. Still love you, God bless you.

And this is coming from someone that doesn’t drink. I’m not sure why Marcus says he won’t be mad at us if we drink. He has no right to judge anyone.

I’m not a drinker. I have had a glass of wine or two over the years at weddings or other events. But I must say I disagree about the strength of alcohol today.
In todays age the government regulates the strength of alcohol. I use to work in a prison and inmates use to make what they called “hooch”, now that unregulated alcohol will knock you out with one shot! That’s why I find it hard to believe alcohol is weaker now. The process is fruit (sugar) and yeast, and that hasn’t changed much since biblical days, just now it’s regulated. But I do understand what you’re saying about Christians representing the Kingdom soberly.
And let’s not forget that Paul told Timothy to drink wine. 1Tim 5:23. My doctor actually to me to drink a glass of red wine a night for my iron deficiency. But I just don’t like it. The point is, God has blessed us with everything to be a good Steward and not to abused his blessings.

Drinking or not drinking is definitely a personal choice. If you struggled with getting drunk and not being able to stay sober, it’s not wise to drink unless you have self-control.
If you’re a Christian who enjoys a drink and you don’t struggle with drunkenness, it shouldn’t be an issue. If you tempted to grab one glass after another and always end up drunk, it might not be a good idea to drink period.
I wouldn’t recommend drinking any of the super strong stuff like Marcus said just because that can be a downward spiral lol. But if you wanna have a glass of wine, cocktail, margarita, or something light, and you out to dinner, I don’t think that’s a problem. (Depends on size, weight, tolerance). Drinks can be fun to try at restaurants and in different cities if you know how to stay sober and avoid the sin of it.
I used to not desire to drink when I was in college, and didn’t drink when I turned 21, but as I got further into my 20s, got married, and started embracing my adulthood more, I tried it and learned to like it in a healthy way.
Doing it responsibly was natural because I was already mature mentally & I was prepared to learn my own boundaries/limits. It takes some tolerance building, but if you want to drink, wisdom is the principle behind this. And if you feel convicted and choose not to do it, that can be a good route too.

@@standingvertical3048 it's sad that you have to be rude. And can't agree to disagree. There many scripture that talks about wine and I don't think according to scripture God is pleased with a Christian drinking wine. Because it dulls the senses. If you have God's Holy Spirit why do you need another form of peace? I'm just quoting what's written. Jesus first miracle was turning water into wine to show His Glory he didn't drink it.

@@standingvertical3048 the Bible instructs us to do everything in love and be kind and tender. 2nd I fear God and Love Jesus and the apostle. Yes he did, he wasn't drinking Juice
      Matthew 11:19 KJV
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

@@elijahtrent21 it is true. If John the Baptist was commanded not to drink wine. Jesus is greater. The wine back them was not alcoholic like today. Jesus Said the fruit of the vine. Which I believe is grapejuice.
