I'm a bass player myself. One of the reasons I like a lot music like this is the emphasis on bass heavy. If you listen to the song on a great system, the bass really drives the song. That with the drums. It's a cool bass line too. I was thinking earlier when listening to the song that it would be cool to play a live version of this on actual instruments.
Anyone who has an extra bass laying around tune down to BEAD. thicker string gauge will tighten up that string tension for you. Most guitars laying around instead of being played usually have horribly high action anyway so when you tune down it balances out a bit. Beats buying a 5 string if you can’t afford it.
That's a really cool idea Speaking for my own preference, just get a 5-string :) they're not expensive, the entry level Ibanez soundgear (GIO) 5-strings you can get for under 200 bucks if you get em used. The smaller string spacing on a 5-string is fantastic and having a lower string to rest your thumb on is really indispensible when finger picking
