Before you type, "Why not just use human voices? These sound like junk!" I hear ya! Perhaps you didn't get to the "better" voices in the vid. Of course, a robo voice can't replace a real radio VO pro...at least, not yet. This a solution for indie radio operators who have small budgets, but BIG ideas. Since I made it, the quality of AI voiceovers has improved. Currently, I'm using Elevenlabs and lovin' it! Use some of my guidelines and take those bots for a spin: radiodjdude.com/elevenlabs
C’mon man! That’s was sooo cool! I’ve been looking to start working on jingles and sweepers to put in my VO background. Though your video is what some say too basic it’s exactly what I was looking for. Love the secret sauce. I’m a Studio One user so trying to translate some of your settings seems challenging but your explanation was great, eventually I’ll get it.Thx Jeff!
@@RadioDJDude Currently listening to xxx80s and FMing it out to my property(and maybe a few neighbors🤣) with MPX, HD1 and RDS as a software only GNU Radio project. Used Murf for my "ID", song ID's and other repeatables. Loads of Fun. My only hardware is a HackRF One box and an outdoor rooftop FM antenna.
Unfortunately, AI DJs will start becoming more prevalent. I don't think/hope they'll completely replace human jocks, but in smaller markets, definitely. The big voice dude on XXX80s.com is through a service I found on Fiverr.
How do you get "big radio guy voice" ? is that also A.I. ? the one that says "triple X 80's" or those harmonized vocals that say "by request!" just wondering how you can achieve those elements.. thank you!!
@@RadioDJDudeOf course... I have a couple dozen sweepers I purchased from an online jingle company, and I'm pretty sure they use AI voices and they sound great. I would like to make a few of my own for various program blocks. The ones I have a general imaging, and I'm looking to make simple taglines like "90's at nite" and "Morning mix", etc...
This is great. I'm retiring and want to have some fun. I want to fire up an internet station and evolve into a community radio station. A very small one. A lot of talk in the day and music in the evening.
Thank you! I'm using Adobe Audition for the multitrack audio production. Audacity also can do multitrack, it's just not as full-featured or smooth to work with.
Aloha Jeff. I'm just curious in your expert opinion, Which Eleven Labs monthly option is adequate for creating ongoing Radio jingles and sweepers? Maybe 10-15 sweepers per month? I'm wondering if the $5/month is adequate or do you think I would need to get the $22/month?
@@RadioDJDudeThanks bro. Love the channel and station. Been listening constantly for the past few weeks. The best imaged station in LIVE 365 in my opinion. Im excited to create new imaging for my station. Im also in L365 - Pipeline 2 Paradise Hawaiian Radio. I hope you don’t mind if I hit you up every now and then for guidance and tips. Keep up the great work🤙🏾
hi! do you pay any license for broadcasting? I've started my own radio station but I don't know if I need to pay copyright license, and if so, to who do I need to pay? I am broadcasting on my own website, through shoutcast, from my pc, on listen2myradio. So what license do you need for an online radio? Thank you!
I use Live365 for hosting. Part of their service is to cover music licensing fees. Since I play hits from the 80s, I didn't want to risk it. There are ways to get a blanket music license, but they seem complicated and expensive. Live365 isn't cheap, but their packages with commercials are a little less expensive.
love your inspirational video and your jingles - I am learning and trying to get better with radio imaging - is there anywhere to get hold of presets for adobe audition and have you created a video on creating imaging?
Thanks SO much for the kind words! Appreciate you stopping by the channel and the vid recommendation. I can definitely do an 'Intro to Imaging' vid. Stay tuned!
Been using AI voice for jingles for a while now... I have a Pro version on Revoicer wich also has mood-rachel wich also can do expressions like Doooh, Kissing and so forth..... But I'll follow up on your link in here RadioDJ Dude :) tnx for sharing - Radio friend in Norway (Radio Tordenskrall) 😜
@@RadioDJDude Well as far as your radio concern - I couldn't listen/stream if I wanted to 'cause Norway is one of your lands you don't want to listen to it (blocked)... 🙄
Unfortunately, I don't offer production services. There are a couple affordable sites that offer custom production elements. You can also check out Fiverr. Good luck!
Yes, you can. BUT, make sure you find one that sounds realistic. Nothing worse than a robo-voice spewing a long script. In short bursts, AI voices are usable...at least, the free ones. There are better options for a price.
Drab is robot voices from a free website. From the school of "you get what you pay for: nothing is better than this". I'll take an $800/month VO professional with 200 stations on his resume before the station sounds like the Noaa weather station. Boohoo to AI.
Sounds like you didn't hear the robo voices from the pay site OR Elevenlabs. I hear ya, though! It's impossible to compete with a seasoned VO pro. BUT, that's not the point. These are ideas for folks who don't have access to $800/mo for VO services. Must be nice! :)
For internet radio, I've only used RadioDJ. Some people like SAM Broadcaster Pro. It's full featured, but almost $300. Here's a blog from '21 comparing all the apps: www.cloudrad.io/radio-broadcasting-software For simple audio editing, I love Audacity. Price is awesome, too...Free! For multi-track production, I use Adobe Audition. Most multi-tracks apps do the same thing, just with a different GUI. Find one within your budget and go nuts! :)
Not sure. There are so many services to choose from. The best quality AI voices usually come at a premium...not free. All depends on how believable you want the voice to sound. You need to sample a lot of voices until you find the right one.
Yes, you're spot on: Human VO artists sound better than robo talkers. No question! If you have the $ to hire A-list talent, go for it. Most internet broadcasters don't and need other options. However, the tech has evolved since I made that video. Some services offer speech-to-speech functionality, which allows you to infuse vocal variety and inflection into AI voiceovers. Very cool stuff!
Yes, the voices in the the beginning of the vid, I'd never use. Way too fake sounding. The stuff later on, in short doses, isn't bad. Everyday the tech gets a little better. Check out my vid about creating an AI Whisper Voiceover to hear some examples of decent bot VOs... ua-cam.com/video/8PBxoq0UQxE/v-deo.html
These sound terrible... especially when they are supposed to be "magical". You can hear the tone shift up, even with weird station sound effects, on top of them. I have been fooled before, and will be fooled in the future, but I don't see these replacing jobs.. it's too much work to get them to sound good, when using someone you are already paying would be cheaper and faster.

That would be awesome, but not yet. There are companies that sell generic PAM-style jingles, though.
Dont these usually produce robotic voices? For radio spots i prefer Kits or Vocs AI
