Just moved from CA to MS.
I had purchased a Brand New RAM 1500 ($70,000).
I paid $7,000 in sales/registration taxes in CA taxes.
When I got to MS, they made me pay ANOTHER registration/plates fee of $1,000 😱
I felt like that was my WELCOME to Mississippi SLAP 👋🏽 in the Face!!!!🤢🤮

Yeah those car tags are rough if you have a newer vehicle. Its worse in some counties/cities than others though. What part of the state did you end up in?

Car tag for me first year was $779. Second year $204. Hinds county

I have to pay 1,800 for my tax but I’m close to the water it was cheaper I’m Tennessee

It definitely can be cheaper in Tennessee, but if you want to be close to the beach, it’s a long drive from there!
